Writing Advice that Will Save You from Crying over Chapter 3 Again
☽ Sometimes “writer’s block” is actually just your story being broken and your brain knowing before you do. Respect the vibes, go back. Something stinks.
☽ If you’re stuck in the middle, skip to the part you’re excited to write. Chronological writing is a suggestion, not a law.
☽ “Kill your darlings” is not about deleting every cool thing you love. It’s about not hoarding scenes like a dragon with dialogue you wrote in 2017 that doesn’t even make sense anymore.
☽ You do not need to write like your favorite author. You need to write like you, caffeinated and slightly unstable.
☽ Talking to yourself in the mirror as your character is not weird. It’s called method writing. You’re not unhinged, you’re dedicated.
☽ Aesthetic Pinterest boards and playlists are writing progress if they make you feel like a god again.
☽ You can write the climax before you finish Act 1. You can rewrite Chapter 1 thirty times and then delete it anyway. You’re not behind, you’re in hell with the rest of us.
You’re allowed to write stuff that’s not “marketable.” You’re allowed to be weird. Write the story that would make you feel seen. The niche finds its freaks.
☽ Beta readers are not gods. Take what resonates, ignore what doesn’t. If five people say your story drags at Chapter 8? Maybe listen. If one person says “make it all about the dog,” maybe don’t.

So the Australian feminist group, Collective Shout, the bookburners responsible for credit card companies declaring themselves the new legislators of the entire world’s obscenity laws, also defended Cuties.
This actually comes as a relief: they’re not good but wrongheaded, they’re actually evil. Nothing that has to be done to defeat them will be regrettable.

It's so weird to see someone who understands fighting games write fiction about people playing them.

While there are dozens of examples, the only one anyone really should keep at heart to know the true soul of democrats vs. sane people is: In the wake of the Pulse nightclub shooting, democrats showed up as quick as possible to remind people to keep BLM in their focus, and to not consider how an Islamic fundamentalist's religion mattered in him shooting 50 people, and think how this would victimize Muslims. The homophobic christian conservative Chik-Fil-A showed up with food and water.
Not only did BLM show up and demand the attention be put back on them, they actively shamed the victims of the shooting and forced any LGBT group that was trying to fundraise or raise awareness to make public declarations about how BLM was more important and how black gays face more discrimination than other gays. It was a complete black supremacist public kowtowing. All because the racist grifters couldn't stand their grift not being in the national spotlight for a single day.

Forgotten Gems : "Letitia Lerner, Superman's Babysitter !" from Elseworlds 80-page giant Vol.1 #1 (1999). Script (with some help from Liz Glass), art, colors & lettering by cartoonist Kyle Baker. A story later reprinted in Bizarro Comics HC (2001), Bizarro Comics SC (2003), DC Comics Presents:Elseworlds 80-Page Giant #1 (2012), Elseworlds:Justice League Vol. 2 TPB (2017) and Bizarro Comics:The Deluxe Edition HC (2021).
Fun Fact #1 : "All of the existing copies of the issue were withdrawn and pulped after Paul Levitz became concerned about a scene in the story "Letitia Lerner, Superman's Babysitter". The scene in question involved a young baby (Superman) trapped in a microwave. The story was later reprinted in Bizarro Comics. It also won Kyle Baker two Eisner Awards for Best Short Story and Best/Writer Artist."
Fun Fact #2 : "The story from the 2005 Pixar short "Jack-Jack Attack" was heavily inspired by "Letitia Lerner, Superman's Babysitter"."

It's come to my attention that a good portion of the younger generation has not been made aware of one of the greatest and most hated PILLARS of millennial society.
So I apologize, but I must take on this task. A new hand must touch the beacon. The knowledge must be passed on. The chain can not be broken.
So.
The Game.
The following are the rules of The Game:
there is no winning The Game
once you know of The Game, you are always playing the game
the point of The Game is to not think about The Game
if you think about The Game, you have lost The Game, and must announce this to those around you - causing them to also lose The Game
A "reset period" of roughly an hour or two before loss announcements is common in colloquial rules to allow yourself and those around you to properly temporarily "forget" about The Game, however that is not an official rule.
Go forth, you next generation, and I am sorry.
