This blog will contain for fun redesigns of every vivosaur from the Fossil Fighters series as I finish them.

Woah been a bit huh? Would've probably shown up sooner if it werent for my laptop breaking down during July. I have basically lost all data on the background templates I created and such. This sadly means I am not going to make a regular return for awhile yet.
However to tide things over I am going to start posting some concept doodles every now and then for future redesigns and give ya the basic rundown on the idea behind it. Think of it as a sneak peak before the eventual final illustration and refinement of the designs.

Lets start with the first concept of Zino!
Zino would now be classified as a herbivore.
It still is a Pyro element that uses its thick layers of fluff and feathers to build up high ammounts of heat which it can use to breath flames and deliver burning hot slashes.
While by default Zino is a glass cannon type, by using Burning Sythes it not only deals a large chunk of damage to the opponent it changes to its Ash Reaper stance. This lowers its accuracy by 75% and its defenses by 25% in turn though its attack is boosted by 50% and all of its hits are guarenteed critical. With the proper supports Zino would be a force to be reckoned with!
So what do ya think?
This concept is not final and could change so feel free to put input. I hope to show more of these wip concepts in the future!

How do you feel about people using your red bone hybrid idea?
I suppose I wouldn't mind as long as proper credit is given! This goes for just about anything I come up with. Long as there is proper credit anyone is allowed to use my ideas. I seriously do not mind.

How's everything going?
Fine thank you for asking! Just a tad in a rut so-to-say. Kinda stuck up on a different fandom. It's been keeping me quite busy.
In case anyone is wondering, yes I plan to return eventually, once I find the motivation. But I am pretty far into a different rabbit hole atm. Project is not abandoned, no worries!

Got quite a few asks over the last couple of days. Looks like I got lots to do! Hopefully I can do the designs justice with what I come up with. This might take a few more days as I'm giving myself a weeks time to rest to prevent burnout. I can think all day long but cant draw without the willpower.
For now I got a small list of base concept plans I got in my mind. Nothing detailed but they get the mind wandering and can give an idea what to expect.
---------------------------------------------------
- Alectro: When I was little I couldn't tell if it was furry or covered in crystals. The thought of a vivosaur covered in crystals is kinda cool, many possibilities for defense and offense!
- Nycto: I was asked to do Nycto Ace, however I'm not really gonna get into super evolvers at the moment(eventually I will) so we're settling with the og. Nycto is a bit tough to decide on, there are many things you could base it off of. Its small, more for support, so perhaps we can exentuate its speedy properties. Sleek, reminiscent of jets perhaps.
- Cryo: Cryogenic cold freezes things with its breath and has a skill that can put enemies to sleep. Perhaps make it look kinda crazy, give it some kinda armor that looks kinda like an artificial lookin face mask, as it opens its mouth the mask splits and you get a faceful of teeth and freezing cold. Not sure what im gonna do for the rest of it quite yet.
- Carno: You want horns, you get horns! Better grab a nose ring and a red cloth.
- Andarch: large hoofed mammalian carnivore? In the games they made it seem more in line with the canines when it was closer related to hippos. Perhaps exentruate that big head, perhaps supports team by grabbing and restricting movement like a bear trap!
- Delta: Swift support, likes to move in rhythm with its team to provide ample distraction. The counter and confuse skills come into play as I can imagine it will tease an attack, dodge and retaliate with swift strong kicks. It confuses with odd screeches only the enemies can hear. Think targeted dog whistle. Support effects can lower accuracy, so perhaps base it's looks off of mirrors??? Or maybe it hides like a chameleon. An Invisible vivosaur sounds kinda cool.

I I just saw your blog a couple minutes ago, and I am in love!! Keep up the awesome work!
I have a question, and I will still follow you and love your work no matter how you answer
Could you also remake the creatures/bosses that arent actually real, like Tonzilla and ZongaZonga? If you can, I would love to see what you could do with Double Z
Cant wait to see what you come up with next!
Sincerely, a huge prehistory fan who loves when people do awesome stuff like what you do
I plan on getting around to the legends/bosses last, but yes I will end up doing them.
A few of them may be completely turned on their head concept wise so-to-say though. However at the same time a few of them will only have minor redesigns to fit the newer style.
Which ones get the major overhauls or small design adjustments will be case to case. So we'll deal with the specifics when we get there!

I know he's kinda dull, but I've always been fond of Lexo, and I'd like to see what you do with him.
#55 - LEXO
Element - Earth
Specializes - Close Range Support
---------------------------------------------------
LEXOs bright grassy greens and vibrant flowers draw much attention, however, this vivosaur prefers to stay on the sidelines aiding teammates with its many Status and LP related skills.
LEXO can both poison and put opponents to sleep with the many toxic thorns in its branches. In particular you want to avoid its shoulder spikes as they are coated in a substance that can, upon being damaged by, induce super poison or sleep. Which one it induces is more of a 50/50 however.
In the case a teammate is weak, LEXO can produce large fruits and berries to give LP back to the team. Rarely these fruits can give a random temporary stat boosting status to the vivosaur who consumed it. A valuable asset to any team.

#04 - TARBO
Element - Air
Specializes - Mid Range Attacking
-------------------------------------------------
TARBO has gained traits from the stormy plains it is found buried in. Specializing in elemental attacks, TARBO can change the weather in its immediate area, turning the battlefield into a electrical hazard.
TARBO can send out dark clouds to obscure an opponents sight then shock them by firing out lighting from one of the bolt-like quills on its back. This proves a very effective tactic against most vivosaurs with the exception of many Earth elemental due to their grounded nature.
When TARBO is not in battle its clouds go white and the lightning quills retract. It's cloudy fluff is quite lightweight and soft.

Idea for red fossils in FFReforged, it's weird but hear me out.
The odd dna of a red fossil can apply to any vivosaur not just their respective species. Meaning in theory you can make hybrids of two, up to four vivosaurs. Think of red fossils as fun wild cards.
So while you could use the red fossils as regular and add some extra BP to your vivosaur, you could make em a hybrid.
Hybrids look suprisingly natural, just kinda odd. The head of course is the base species. By adding various red fossils, for example legs, then the vivosaurs legs will do one of two things.
Change to look closer to the donor. (Still remains functional, as other fossils seem to adapt around the red fossil to make the whole structure of the vivosaur more feasable...in otherwords your not gonna have a Base T-Rex with tiny little Guan legs. The legs will scale themselves up and the body and head a little down to come into proportion)
Or add abilities accociated with part. For example add a kicking vivosaurs legs to a traditionally ground stable vivosaur, suddenly the base vivosaur can kick well!
Sometimes both.
Hybrid vivosaurs do have downsides however. While they have more powers, the powers they get from the red donor are weaker, and as well weaken their own. The more red fossils the more "spread thin" your vivosaur is, so-to-say. So adding them is only recommend if you have the strategy to back it up.
TLDR: This is an excuse to make cool vivosaur fusions damn it!

Switching Frigi and Ignos base species?
It's more likely than you think.
#picture a sauropod#its lower neck a window to seemingly endless magma#Volcano on its back#kinda like mega camarupt.#ok now picture this#Theropod. Huge Theropod.#eyes are a cold icy blue#like a husky#Seems to have icecicles for teeth#spines of ice as well#seems to emit something cold as liquid nitrogen as even the air seems to freeze into this weird snow that builds up on its body#the snow is air though so it falls off and sublimes#fossil fighters#redesign#frigi#igno

Hey, could you do Anomalo? It has a pretty unique design and it would be awesome to see what you do with it!

#149 - ANOMALO
Element - Water
Specializes - Mid Range Status
-------------------------------------------------
Anomalo upon revival seems to have tapped into ancient magic? (experts are unsure what to call it) Oddly it has gained the ability to "swim" in the air. Along with the levitation Anomalo has gained excellent confusion based skills.
The multiple bright markings along its body and plates are capable of putting enemies into a borderline hypnotized state. While the enemy is distracted by the blinding colors, Anomalo will focus its light into a beam, blasting the enemy back.
Users of this vivosaur often report headaches, therefore it's less commonly used, in particular those with sensitive eyes.
#Colorful. Almost....TOO colorful.#kinda hurts my eyes#but in a good way#fossil fighters#redesign#anomalocaris#Less proud of this design if im honest#eye strain

Pterosaurs are gonna be fun! Can't wait to come up with some cool concepts.
As for fanart? Go nuts! I'd love to see art from the community. Always a treat! Everybody in the FF community is so talented!

#03 - GORGO
Element: Fire
Specializes - Close Range Status
-------------------------------------------------
During revival Gorgo seems to have almost melted, it's bones softened and fused to become a very flexible shell. Because of this, Gorgo has weaker defenses. What it lacks in defense however, it makes up for with agility and a deadly set of venomous skills.
It's liquified body, particularly around the mouth is highly toxic, upon contact with its slime, the victim will expiriance burning irritation and temporary partial paralysis wherever the location of contact was. Luckily the venom is non-lethal and will usually wear off after a couple of hours.
Its flexible shell also allows for great agility, it can slip out of the grasp of it's enemies with suprising ease. Downside is when it does get hit, it hurts, best to finish your foes swiftly.
#fossil fighters#dinosaur#vivosaurs#redesign#Gorgosaurus#Gorgo#in theory where its body is far less toxic yoy could get away with touching the slime with only a slight tingling feeling#just keep is brief#reminder you can send requests#theres a lot of theropods might wanna break it up a bit yknow?

#02 - DASPLETO
Element - Earth
Specializes - Close Range Attacking
------------------------------------------------
DASPLETO is a tankish vivosaur who enjoys snacking on a variety of stones and minerals, it converts these minerals into a tough armor which resists against most physical attacks.
DASPLETO can fight tooth and nail with the formidable T-REX with it's high defenses depite being an element weak to fire. The tubes all over it's body carry energy quickly to various parts of it's body, allowing it to deliver some nasty tackles and bites.

#01 - T-REX
Element - Fire
Specializes - Close Range Attacking
-----------------------------------------------
The King of Tyrants. T-Rex's towering presence commands attention.
Along with sheer attack power, a lot of this vivosaurs energy is used to power its inner fire. This inner fire bubbles to the surface and allows T-Rex to use some brutal flame based skills. Due to the ammount of fire energy, T-Rex tires quickly and is not very fast so requires the help of other vivosaurs to take advantage of its full potential.
When attacking jets of fire will spit out of holes along T-Rex's body and the multiple, normally obsidion like, crevices along it's body will light up.

Hello! Welcome to the world of Fossil Fighters Reforged!
As you we are still in the very early stages of the project. Perhaps while we wait for more, why not give the rundown as to what this blog will be about?
What is Fossil Fighters Reforged? (FFR)
This blog is run by Oskidoodle and deticated to redesigning every single vivosaur from the Fossil Fighters series. Not an overly serious project, these designs will be done for fun and anything is fair game.
The only rule is vivosaurs will have the same basic body plan as their real life counterparts. Theropods stay theropods, sauropods stay sauropods, ect. Exceptions to this rule apply to the "legendaries" so-to-say and those in similar vein.
Any gimmicks?
Gold Fossils will be present! What else is new? Every vivosaur can Super Evolve! Whether I actually draw these has yet to be seen. Far too early in the project to say so or not.
I also have possible plans for red fossils, however what exactly hasn't quite been decided as of yet.
Hey can you draw this vivosaur?
While I do not guarentee, drop a vivosaur you want to see me redesign in my asks and you will have a decent chance to see it prioritized!
(Also feel free to send actual questions and ideas through asks.)
Less important but thought you might wanna know.
Order will be same as the ingame fossilry, after first games roster, then comes Champions, which will skip over any previously drawn vivosaurs. Once done, perhaps some new fan made vivosaurs! Fun!
