some people think it's a good idea to pour water over the oil fire i'm standing in, then walk away feeling proud of themselves. and i just hate to ruin their day.

there's a scar on the outer corner of my left eye from when i tumbled down a piano chair at 7y/o. used to dislike it, but i just realized it's the perfect guideline for putting on eyeliner. i only have to draw over it on the left side, and copy it on the right.

what truly corrodes the soul is helplessness; a despair apathetic as black glass, velvety smooth and absolutely beautiful(you are so fucked). no matter how you pound and kick and throw yourself against the surface, it will not yield. it will not yield. it will not yield. eventually you slide down to relative comfort, staring bruised and blank-eyed at the glimmering expanse- only to find that you cannot look into it. there is only a strange gaze sticking to your face like plaster.

no- no- stop looking at me like that; simple, cowardly, lost and so despicably weak! stand. you must stand, and look the other way; even closing your eyes is a more commendable feat than being dumbly transfixed- as a defined will. yet all i am is limp and inconsequential. all my waterlogged thoughts run rooted.
