I truly believe Matilda has some connection to Taylor because of the tracklisting. It's track 7 on HH, seven is also track 7 on folklore and both songs talk about almost the same subject that is childhood neglect from family members. Harry said it was about someone he knew, Taylor said it was about a friend. It can't just be a simple coincidence. But I also I agree that we shouldn't dwell much into it because it's a sensitive subject and we don't really have any confirmation.

The "no midnight in Paris" thing could be fake. But if it's not then also it makes sense because Midnight in Paris is a film that is based on this mentality of escapism. Where the main character goes back and forth to different decades but ultimately he doesn't like any of them. Because every decade has its flaws. His seemingly perfect life in present is also not actually perfect because he learns his fiancee is cheating and the past he was living in and where he fell in love with another woman is also painful because the woman wants to back to a different decade which causes him to return to his present. But then at the end he falls in love with another girl in the present world. It's a great movie.

I saw on TikTok that Jack "confirmed" (no, I didn't confirm this myself so it could be entirely wrong) that Taylor wrote The Bolter on May 19th, the night before her "Question...?" speech (Foxborough Night 2, May 20th). Have you seen any evidence to corroborate this? The dates would certainly make sense, and it would be quite telling about how we ended up here.

Is it just me or does Matilda "hit different" after listening to TTPD? Something in particular changed in the way I heard it while I was listening last night and thinking about loml/Peter especially.

To me Matilda is about Taylor because of the line “You showed me a power that is strong еnough to bring sun to the darkest days”

While many people played a role in Harry becoming a song writer I think Taylor was influential in him wanting to be and connecting him with writers. They were also muses most of his career.

When the emails from her dad came to light even more so, and I agree parts of TTPD also align with that. But it’s such a special song for many people I’ve not gotten deep into it.

Because it’s a song that has more meaning than what the inspiration is about.. also we don’t know.

I'm really frustrated with how so much of the fandom is revising history and making tons of her past about MH when we know for a fact who certain muses were (particularly HS and JA), but also because they're undermining Taylor and not listening to her. she's scathing about that man, there's no tenderness or even real sadness about him, she flat out says she feels like he was sent to destroy her, she doesn't miss him or want him back, "it wasn't a love affair!" it was self-harm, and somehow fans are going "uwu he's her soul mate and the love of her life." no??? she's saying the opposite? you will never get me to believe she was writing anything about him in the past, much less for ten years. 😭 why are swifties soooo terrible at media literacy, she's not even really hiding things she's discussing and reflecting on here? I'm tired of seeing MH focused on/romanticized when that's not the point of the album or what she's sharing at all.

I wonder if some of it is fans of The 1975, even before this record they were oddly ‘assertive’ about the Slut! Lyric that I still think is fake.

You might already have a breakdown of the song, in which case I need to go read it, but I've always believed it to be a Haylor song. I don't know how often he performs it live, but I don't think it's very often. Interesting timing I'd say, but a nice coincidence if nothing else.

Hi, I have, the a remarkable difference in body language between the two photos should be enough to put any 2014 rumours to rest.

These photos were taken either on the same night, or a day apart. It is backstage at the Hollywood Palladium, you can see the star wall and couch in this unrelated event. The 1975 only played there twice in 2014, on the 19th and 20th of November. Taylor was there on the 20th with Selena, Ellie and Harry.

This other photo is with Chelsea Schuchman. She is a model/actress who appeared in The 1975's music video for The Robbers where he also put his head in her lap, that video was released 7 months earlier in April 2014. The photographer shared the photo on Tumblr 5 days after the 1975 were there so we know it was one of the same 2 shows and Matty said the following about Chelsea.

Here is the zoomed out photo with Selena and the 20 cm gap between Matty and Taylor.

And other photos of Taylor there are here, including one you can see the star wall, it looks like a lot of people were there.

I think you're right. I thought the May 31 dress was a jumpsuit because that's what it looked like in the photo I saw. In these photos the dress looks like mini dress which probably because she's sitting down as you said. I thought it was similar to the haylor karaoke dress. And she's wearing a necklace too in these photos but they are not visible because of the filter and window looks similar to me because it's the same studio and same spot she's been sitting for all the recordings that we saw from clips. The sofa and cushions and the instrument and the bottle of sanitizer i guess?......everything is similar

I think you are right too! I was thinking Taylor's photos are a different setting but you are right the bars and couch behind her match.

I am not sure which year you mean so I will answer for both:

2014 - Taylor posted a video with Selena and Harry is seen in it briefly and also ET news articles about him being there with Taylor. Also the Mirror covered it with an eye witness quote:

I was on the floor and I saw them in what I believe was a VIP section. They were both dressed in black and they were very friendly towards each other. I believe they went backstage at some point. To me they seemed like friends… I'd say somewhere in between.

2023 - there are these tweets about it: x, x, x (I am a day ahead, the tweets are from 12 January London time). Also news articles (also x) that Harry and Taylor were both there. The Florence Welch photo was taken the same day.

Did you see Taylor's latest post on insta? The 1st and sixth photo is the day of recording fots. That photo matches up with Jack's photo. And it's not in May. Because it's a mini dress not a jumpsuit. Also it looks older because her face looks stress free. I'd think it's March-April. Maybe she recorded it secretly. And the dress is similar to the karaoke dress. Oh My God

I have gone with this dress as a placeholder, which is from this tweet. I think Taylors photo with the knees is just how her dress is while she's sitting. I will add, this method of deciding songs were recorded based on pap walks is only going to establish the timeline Taylor wants us to have. It's not actually necessarily when a song was written or even recorded.

Also Taylor hasn't give an indication on her photo other than the album title - the window/wall look different. One thing on the 31 May pap walk though is she is wearing the Cartier Necklace and I am pretty sure MH was over, he hadn't been seen for 2 weeks and the BUA with 'no longer talking' was 5 days later.

I can see how most can be about HS but she's closed the door now and turned out the light. Does it feel like she's done for good or she's trying to convince herself and living in her secret garden with TK (not facing reality)?

I mean that guy is clearly real, so I don't think it is about not facing reality, maybe she's always secretly wanted to be a WAG for a guy that yells Viva Las Vegas all the time.

FR though, I said in the discord earlier that my take on this album is that after 3 albums about leaving Joe I think she finally accepted it was not to be before this record is why there is less about him than some expected. To me the bulk of it is sadness that the hopes, dreams and expectations she had about this phase of her life haven't come to fruition. To me I think Harry is the muse she went to, who maybe said 'not yet' again. I see the MH situation as maybe acting on a past wonder, maybe hitting someone where she knew it would hurt... to be rejected by him also.. well I think let down by a long term partner, 'The 1' and even the eternal consolation prize was how we got here. The validation of living out a high school fantasy. It is indeed so high school.

In terms of your question 'does it feel like she's done now for good?' no, she made a Haylor Ring for merch and wears that ring at the end of the Fortnight music video, it's far from done.
