What kind of bird do you most want to see?
Listen, there is not a single bird on this earth that I do not want to see HOWEVER that being said, there are a few that I am even more excited than usual to see:
Groove-billed ani. I mean come on, just look at those fluffy little dinosaur faces

Hoatzin. AKA the stinkbird, these guys process vegetation the same way cows and other ruminants do, HOW COOL is that. Also their babies have grabby little claws on their wings like ungainly little dromaeosaurs. Adorable.
Shoebill. I mean. Duh.

Booted racket-tail. Look at those PAAAAANTS

Seriema. Closest living relative to THE TERROR BIRDS so what’s not to like (also they’re dorks)

Secretary bird. For reasons that should be obvious.

This EXACT golden eagle. One day, we shall be united my love

BOTD: Spangle-cheeked Tanager
Photo: John D Reynolds
"These tanagers are social birds, often seen in pairs or family groups. They may also join mixed-species feeding flocks, particularly those that include common bush tanagers. Their foraging habits are quite active, and they are known to consume a variety of small fruits, insects, and spiders."

BOTD: Torrent Tyrannulet
Photo: Doug Greenberg
"Unique small gray flycatcher found exclusively along fast-moving rivers and streams. Often perches on rocks in the middle of a waterway, but also along the edge. Plumage is also unlike any other flycatcher; pale gray overall with diffuse black cap and black wings and tail. Sexes similar. Pumps tail."

BOTD: Fan-tailed Warbler
Photo: Liam Wolff
"In Mexico and Central America, this large warbler is a shy denizen of the understory in dense woods. As it skulks near the ground, it often flips its long tail about or fans it wide open, displaying the white spots at the tip. Lone Fan-tailed Warblers have strayed into Arizona a few times, mostly appearing in late spring in canyons just north of the border."
