What is a fragment?
In short, a fragment is a term used to describe alters that do not have a proper identity and/or are not fully formed. Some fragments may not have roles, source memories, interests, or a personality until they gain an identity, while others may form with part of an identity and even have roles, memories, interests, a personality in development, and some fragments may never gain and identity whatsoever.
