reminder that jamie hewlett is just as important as damon albarn. gorillaz wouldn’t exist without what both of them put into the project. artists are always unappreciated in comparison. most people don’t think about the person who puts so much time into drawing and bringing the cartoon band characters to life. damon albarn is not the man behind everything. damon and jamie do this together

Damon called me up and said, ‘Fancy being on the new Gorillaz album?’ and I went, ‘Fuck, yeah, absolutely, every other cunt is!’ I spent the day in the studio with him. He was literally hammering out the same fucking three chords on the piano and scatting nonsense into a mic for ages until the ‘We got the power to be loving each other’ line appeared. Prior to this he’d showed me a photo of a monk underneath a fucking enormous bell and said, ‘The song’s going to be about this…’ It was great; we had a laugh and became proper fucking mates. It was like a dogfight in the ‘90s and the press loved it. We were too stupid and high at the time to realise what was going on, and some of the lines were too good not to say. Having gotten to know Damon, we have so much in common it’s fucking unbelievable.

Harper has recently become a big fan of the band the “Gorillaz”. She especially loves the artwork that accompanies the band. (If you’re not familiar, they have created four characters that show up in their videos and posters and album covers).

The other day she asked me if the Gorillaz and the Peanuts gang were all part of the same world. After thinking about it and knowing that Damon Albarn plays the piano and often wears striped shirts… I couldn’t resist a little mashup art for this one.

The more I see people crying over someone gender bending the dream daddy characters and screaming transphobia the angrier I get, because it feels like my existance is being used as a fucking bargaining chip to yell at someone. You have no fucking right to decide for us what is transphobic and what isn’t.

Big fucking whoop. Someone gender-bended the characters and one of the characters is trans-male. So the gender-bend is trans-female. Get a fucking grip that is the logical conclusion, it is not transphobic to switch a trans-male to trans-female. What IS transphobic is making out as though you can’t genderbend a trans-character because we exist in some form of in-between singularity? Fuck off. We’re the gender we identify as, not some special fucking separate identity, if you “gender-bend” us we’d be the opposite of our genders just the same as a cis person, saying that we wouldn’t be because we’re trans is just..wrong..

I’m sorry but this discourse is just making me feel shitty for being trans..

Fact #3 When I was around nine years old I discovered something called the dog park (hundeparken). It was basically a free game where you played as a dog and collected bones to buy hats and such. You could also communicate with other “dogs”. The dog park also had its own forum, where some people shared their art (drawings of their dogs and dogfriends) 

This inspired me so much I began drawing lots of lots of dogs. (I never got really good at it tho) and without that small glimpse of inspiration I probably wouldn’t be drawing to day.

Even though I’ve drawn a lot of colorful doggos, and have a lot of doggo characters, I don’t consider myself to be a furry. Furries are cool tho.

I still have contact, and met multiple, of the friends I made at this website. This comic is actually of my character Origo(brown), and a friends Cactus Jack
