Architectural Mystery - Pacific North West
I have an architectural mystery I'm hoping Tumblr can solve.
There is a building designed and built in the early 1910's in the pacific northwest. It was designed as, and still is, an educational building. On the third floor of this building is a room that has two doors that lead to the same room.
As far as I have been able to ascertain it was once the science room of a teaching college. It has auditorium seating, heavy curtains, and the remains of tiles on the inside, in the space between the two doors.
The room has always been one room that has two doors right next to each other. It wasn't two rooms they converted into one, nor is it an emergency exit or a fire door.
There is no other room in the building where this anomaly occurs nor does it occur in the any of the buildings surrounding it. All other buildings by designed by this architect were demolished in the 1970s so there is no other basis for comparison.
The original blueprints for the building have been missing for since 2008 and no archival personnel or person who works in the building knows why there would be two doors to one room so close together.
If anybody could provide any cite-able evidence for this I would be most grateful because I have been now investigating for ten months and come to nothing.
