In RE7 there's this whole mystery about Mia hiding something from Ethan, and he's totally suspicious of that and asks her to explain whenever he gets the chance, and at the end of the game we find out that her secret is that she was a BIOTERRORIST but the narrative is so committed to not addressesing the moral implications of Any Of That, that Ethan doesn't even FIND OUT and Mia is once again relegated to the " fake-out fridged wife/damsel in distress" role in the next game. Hello girl you are responsible for atrocities??????

Y’know I don’t generally put much thought into Eveline as a character but the whole “Winters Saga” narrative definitely shoots itself in the foot by disregarding Mia’s role in molding that child into a monster wholesale in it’s efforts to prop up her own daughter who, it turns out, was created under *checks notes* the exact same set of circumstances

i think it's fine to attribute some desire to biology, like wanting to have kids. like yeah I'm sure a lot of it is the living creature need to proliferate. it doesn't bug me. same as acknowledging that love is dopamine or whatever. a cynic saying love is just chemicals in our brains isn't a gotcha. like ok we as humans were so driven and fascinated by our capacity to love that we found the exact juice that produces that feeling and gave it a name. that's awesome, actually, i dig that, i love that. with my chemicals.
