Can you imagine being one of Emmrich's students. Your professor decides to take a sabbatical. He's been at the university for decades so it's probably earned, whatever, you figure you'll see him in a year or so once he's had a break.

Turns out he took the sabbatical so he could help prevent the apocalypse. He shows up back at the university as if nothing changed, but there's a new lease of life in his skeleton son and a grade-A hottie on his arm.

You can't even bring your dates to the Memorial Gardens anymore becuase while you're trying to show your crush your favourite grave, Professor Volkarin is two graves down, openly canoodling with the aforementioned hot piece of arse.

I gave Gale a ring that puked pretty colours, a crusty pendant that thought it was a nightlight, and an old boot that expected me to stand in water during combat just for the chance to give an enemy a slight shock—and one of those items I bought at a vendor with 20 gold coins I yanked from an ogre's ass. People really be massacring entire villages just to get a crumb of approval from Astarion, but whine because the wizard needs to munch on three pieces of a jeweler's finest rejects. 😒

And he does that because he doesn't want other people to die for his mistakes. He apologises and thanks you every time. Like, calm down. Give him your sock.

All of this was prompted by ONE quote from the game where Raphael says "adieu" to the player even though French/France does not exist in Faerun. So the only logical explanation is our little princeling would use Dimension Doors to go across universes of course! You can get some of these as prints here!

For anyone wondering where he says "adieu", it's when you tell him to leave during his Shar temple scene. He says to you, "As you wish. [...] Until then... adieu." and then bows goodbye.
