What is Friends at the Table?

Game Mastered by Austin Walker (he/him), black American Marxist, writer, and former academic and vampire, Friends at the Table is an actual play podcast about critical worldbuilding, smart characterization, and fun interaction between good friends.

The show features original music, a largely marginalized cast, and . They don't take sponsorships and so are free to explore the stories they wish, supported only by patrons at friendsatthetable.cash.

Every episode has transcripts (compensated work, not free fan labour.)

Were to start?

If you like sci-fi; start with COUNTER/Weight or PARTIZAN.

If you like fantasy; start with Marielda or Autumn in Hieron (the audio quality is bad until episode 5, I recommend coming back after you're invested in the show. There are recap episodes for Autumn in Hieron here and here).

If you like dark or southern gothic fantasy or horror; start with Sangfielle, a stand-alone season.

If you like... movies; Season 1 of the Patreon-only series Bluff City was released publically, but is confusing to access, you can find it reuploaded here.

If you like chill video game streams; they stream on Twitch with archives on YouTube, and another cast member is part of the historic YouTube channel; RunButton.

I, the blog runner, suggest starting with PARTIZAN and returning to COUNTER/Weight then Twilight Mirage, PARTIZAN is a very strong season and I feel its an excellent entry to the show and cast, even if you aren't big on sci-fi.

What's the order of the seasons?

Divine Cycle: COUNTER/Weight -> Twilight Mirage -> The Road to PARTIZAN -> PARTIZAN -> The Road to PALISADE -> PALISADE

Seasons of Hieron: Autumn in Hieron -> Marielda -> Winter in Hieron -> Spring in Hieron
