I truly deeply love David Corenswet's /James Gunn's Superman but im wondering if anyone else experienced the hopefulness of superheroes circling back around to despair the way I did? It's such a beautifully hopeful piece, but at some point watching heroes come together to fight and win against the forces of evil, I literally started crying in the theater. Because the evil they were fighting is very real and so are the people that evil is hurting. The only difference is, in the real world, there are no super heroes to swoop in and save them. Instead all we can do is be loud enough and hope those with power will hear us and grow the nerve to do something.
A beautiful film about hope ended up making me feel deeply hopeless and im not sure what to do with that.

I hate the trope of "I refuse to hit women!! [Gets decked]" cause it's boring but I do like the trope of someone in an RPG going "hey I don't wanna hit a kid that's kinda fucked up" and the kid just obliterates them

I don't believe in the concept of Arthur's Bane. The show only had one Bane and that was Kilgharrah, that was not limited to Arthur's existence, the gaslighting gecko doomed them all.
