Drama Track: Clash of Ambitions

Pt. 3

[The skyline of Tokyo soared impressively, far surpassing what Fukuoka could provide, with its towering glass buildings sparkling under the significant impact of Chuohku. The roads encircling their main office and the Tokyo stadium were immaculate, almost unsettlingly clean, creating an air of artificial flawlessness that made the area resemble a theatrical set rather than an actual city. It didn't feel like home. It was never intended to be.]

[MIHANASA had arrived just hours ago, their expenses covered in full by Chuohku. Hotel, travel, meals, all handled without issue. But that didn't mean they were comfortable.]

[Sanyu's breathing was ragged, her fingers gripping the material of her jacket with a fierce intensity. With each step toward the imposing headquarters, a chill gripped her heart, a sensation much colder than the hard pavement below. Unwelcome memories surged back to the surface, the cold, clinical labs, the sharp tones of voices, and the soft whir of machines that preceded the onset of her suffering.]

[Tasuku and Ming both looked down at her, with the older one slightly furrowing his brow while exhaling softly. He often struggled to find the right words in situations like this, but he refused to just stand by and watch his closest friend succumb to her anxiety.]

Tasuku: *Speaking in a soft, steady voice* Hey… Breathe, okay? We're right here with you. You're safe now, and Chuohku doesn't control your life any longer.

[Likewise, Ming stood close to Sanyu, gently placing her hand on her shoulder. Her tone was calm yet comforting.]

Ming: *Softly* We're here together, Sanyu. You're not alone this time.

[But Sanyu barely heard them. Her mind was somewhere else, trapped in the past, caught in the lingering ghosts of those experiments. Before Ming could say more, a sharp, familiar presence cut through the air. Another trio entered their view, their strides purposeful, their arrival anything but coincidental.]

[OverDrive, not surprised much of the impressive buildings of the government, stood in front of the commanding headquarters with neutral faces similar to yesterdays possible clash with MIHANASA. Eko’s heart lurched with minimal beats, reminding him of the tradegy that forced him to be under their rule as he steadied himself. The light from Yuno’s eyes faded as he gesturally swore towards the building and mumbled an Irish curse…]

[Nodding for them to head on without them, Mai stood alone in front of the building. Their telekinetic senses had detected the team far before they had arrived, but didn’t force themself to look as their glossy eyes looked up towards the empty sky.]

Mai: If I’m truly a woman…You wouldn’t have taken me.

[Ming cautiously advanced, her eyes locked onto Mai after the events of the previous day. There was an unease in the air between them, something hidden just below the surface. For a fleeting instant, she thought about bridging the gap that separated them with words.]

[Yet, before she could act, the massive gates of Chuohku's headquarters creaked open, emitting a noise reminiscent of metal grinding together. The atmosphere shifted, growing denser and more oppressive. A formation of soldiers in crisp uniforms emerged with impeccable coordination, their movements sharp and disciplined. At the forefront, exuding undeniable authority, stood Ichijiku Kadenokoji, the Deputy Prime Minister and the second most influential person in all of Japan.]

[Her gaze swept across the six contenders, icy and evaluative, lingering just long enough to convey her disdain. When her eyes fell on Tasuku, Eko, and Yuno, the temperature seemed to drop even further. Her frown deepened, her face tight with contempt. The presence of men, regardless of their status in this conflict, was perpetually unwelcome in her sight.]

Ichijiku: *Her tone clipped, unwavering* While you remain within Chuohku's jurisdiction, you will observe proper etiquette. You will obey the rules set before you. Any disruption, any insolence, will be met with swift retribution.

[As she spoke each word, it was made clear that there was no room for argument. They were not guests here, they were merely tolerated, though if it were up to her, she'd happily be rid of them, especially the men, whose gaze she lingered on, frowning at them, as if their presence was an insult.]

[Turning sharply on her heel, Ichijiku motioned for the six to follow. Ming instinctively reached for Sanyu, who was still struggling to steady her breathing, her eyes darting toward the imposing structures around her. Tasuku was already there, his presence a quiet anchor, but even his attempts to reassure her weren’t enough to pull her out of the growing panic.]

Ming: Step by step, Sanyu. Just focus on that.

Tasuku: We'll get through this. Don't let them take space in your head. They don't deserve it.

[Sanyu barely responded, her breathing still uneven, her mind trapped in the ghosts of what had happened here before.]

[With their competitors gone, OverDrive all shared the newfound expression of distaste. Hitting them all at the same time, it was clear Ichijuku or Chuohku was hiding something whatever it may be.]

Eko: Haah~ How I miss this place already…

[Mai and Yuno laughed, though maintaining their seriousness of the current situation as he spoke up again.]

Eko: Deputy Kadenokoji’s tone was the easiest giveaway—It’s clear she’s going to attend to something that won’t be preplanned. [He nods at the mention of his natural hyperacusia and sonokinetic power through his mic.]

Yuno: We have to be careful. If we can find out what she is planning, this may get us closer to finding our mic’s answer. Even through all of this, I still want to claim victory, though it will be handed over easily due to a pathetic popularity contest…

[With that, the 3 entered the headquarters silently behind the others, making sure their conversation was left unheard with Eko’s volume reduction.]

Mai: I can’t lose. Not now, never again.

[As the six made their way into the arena, faint roars and cries resonated through the corridors, the steady beat of another rap clash taking place just outside the massive structure. The verses poured through hidden speakers, slicing through the tense quiet that enveloped them, each syllable packed with passion. Tasuku found himself stealing a look in the direction of the sound, intrigue pulling at him. Who was on stage right now? Who was igniting the atmosphere before MIHANASA and OverDrive entered the ring?]

Tasuku: *Low mutter, staring back where the noise was* I'll admit, wouldn't mind seeing who's throwing punches before us… but I bet Chuohku's lapdog isn't about to let us wander.

Ming: *Low mutter, still rubbing Sanyu's back* Just focus on what's ahead, Tasuku. We have enough to deal with without worrying about whoever's out there right now.

[Tasuku exhaled sharply but didn't argue. She was right, Sanyu needed them more than his curiosity did. The woman in question's breath remained shallow, her fingers clutching the sleeve of Ming's kimono as they walked further inside. Every step closer to the waiting area made the air feel heavier, the walls pressing inward, thick with unseen memories.]

[They continued walking until the hallway stretched forward, splitting into four intersections ahead. The division was inevitable.]

Chuohku Official: *In a cold, authoritative voice* This way.

[MIHANASA and OverDrive were separated, each team led toward opposing waiting rooms, away from one another until the moment of battle arrived. The door shut behind them with a calculated finality.]

[Ming guided Sanyu to a nearby chair, crouching beside her, whispering something too quiet for Tasuku to hear. He didn't need to listen. He knew Ming was doing everything she could to keep Sanyu grounded.]

Tasuku: *Leaning against the wall, arms crossed* We're stepping into their territory now… Whatever they've got planned, it's not just about who wins the battle.

Ming: *Nodded, still keeping her attention on Sanyu* Then we do what we always do. We fight, and we don't let them decide how this ends.

[With a smirk and a nod back, the one-eyed young man sighed as he silently waited until the start time, which due to begin soon. He could tell.]

[It was impossible to even rest. OverDrive, now 3 days with insomnia, we’re feeling zombiefied in their waiting room. This wasn’t good, especially for the battle only a due amount of time away. Yuno’s storytelling was atleast lightening the situation as Eko and Mai both were taking 10 minute shifts while himself was comforted by a fair bit of Eko’s lulling energy.] Mai: I’m going for a walk…I can’t sleep.

Yuno: Are you sure? I understand the resting scenario is dire…

[Eko immediately thrusted an object into both their hands]

Eko: Since worst is coming to worst, melatonin is my last resort. [To Mai] If you need to rest, find a chair or bench if you’re still out there.

Mai: Promise.

[Yuno squeezes their shoulder and brushes their face]

Yuno: Return before dark, my prince.

[Mai laughs as they exit the room and begins to walk. Stopping at an empty area after a minute, they pull out their mic inactivated. Leaving it stationary, they audited the melody and started singing the song that changed their life forever.]

[Mai:]

[The waiting room remained still, save for the faint hum of noise slipping through the stadium walls. Distant cheers, muffled lyrics, anticipation crackling in the atmosphere. The tension had settled somewhat, but the weight of what was coming still lingered in the air.]

[Ming sat beside Sanyu, watching her carefully as she rubbed slow, soothing circles against her back. Sanyu's breathing had steadied slightly, but her gaze remained distant, thoughts tangled in memories she couldn’t easily escape.]

Ming: *Softly* Just focus on the present. You're here, not there. Nothing from before can touch you now.

[Sanyu exhaled shakily, gripping her jacket tighter but nodding just enough for Ming to see.]

Sanyu: *Her voice quiet, but steadier* O-okay. ...Okay. I-I think... I think I'm g-good now.

[Ming offered a small nod, her touch remaining gentle against Sanyu's back, keeping her anchored in the moment.]

Tasuku: *Leaning off the wall, looking at her* You sure? No offense, but I don't think we have long left. And I don't think Chuohku's going to give you a pass cause you're out of it.

Sanyu: *Looks up at him, her eyes losing their vacancy* Y-yeah, I'm good. *Looks at both siblings* ...Thanks, guys.

Ming: *Smiles a gentle smile* No problem.

Tasuku: *Grins* Yeah.

[At the time, the door to the waiting room was knocked on. Without waiting whether they could come in or not, the door was opened, revealing the sight of a Chuohku official.]

Chuohku Official: *In a cold and unfeeling voice* It's time. Proceed to the arena for your rap battle.

[With that, the official closed the door back on the three, her duty complete.]

Tasuku: *Frowns at the door* Sheesh, you have to wonder what the hell they do to the people here in this place.

Ming: *Also frowning* Nothing good, I bet.

Sanyu: *Taking a deep breathe* ...No, nothing good at all.

[Standing up from her seat, the MIHANASA leader took another deep breathe, steadying her nerves. Though she was still shaken and nervous, she had calmed down enough to where she could act on her again.]

Sanyu: *Looks at both of her teammates* Well... this is it. You guys ready?

Ming: *Nods, determined* Ready.

Tasuku: *Smirks* You even have to ask? Let's do this!

Sanyu: *Nods at the both of them* Alright then... let's go.

[Leading the trio, Sanyu opened the door for her teammates who followed behind her, on their way to the first real fight they've had in a long time. ...And it was sure to be a good one.]

[Finishing up their moment, Mai sighed as the 3 of them entered the stadium. With so much on their plate, it was difficult to manage how they were going to handle the battle while focusing on their side objectives.]

[All with Chuohku on their tail…]

Eko: It’s time. It’s either we die for real, or become infamous.

Yuno: I am all that’s left. If I die, my family will come down with me…

[Mai straightened themself.]

Mai: My fate proves if love is true.

[The 3 put their hands together, causing their eyes to flicker again out of surprise. Instead, they smiled with intensity and threw their hands up in the air.]

OverDrive: This is our mission, we are OverDrive!

[All of them ran to the stadium without the presence of an official. It didn’t matter wether they were under surveillance, all that did was finding what they wanted and regain what is truly theirs.]

[Identity.]

[The massive stadium roared with anticipation, the energy crackling in the air as the two teams, MIHANASA and OverDrive, stepped into the spotlight. The crowd buzzed with excitement, waiting for the inevitable clash between Fukuoka's top contenders.]

[As they mentally and physically prepared themselves, a Chuohku official stepped on stage, in-between the two teams, a microphone in her hands, getting the audience's attention.]

Announcer: Alright, ladies and gentlemen, this is it! The matchup you've all been waiting for! The final battle of Fukuoka's division!

[At her announcement, the audience cheered once again, eager to see the show get started.]

Announcer: Six competitors, two teams, one city, but only one will claim the division as their own! Who will emerge victorious?

[Pointing to MIHANASA, a spotlight shined down on all three competitors, temporarily blinding them.]

Announcer: Will it be the underdogs, MIHANASA?

[At her announcement, a few cheers went out throughout the stadium.]

Tasuku: *Mutters* Sheesh, tough crowd...

[The spotlight then left MIHANASA and appeared over their opponents, OverDrive, who seemed to have been prepared for it.]

Announcer: ...or will it be the powerhouse team, OverDrive?

[At her announcement, most of the arena began cheering, which showed which side the arena was on. Of course, the MIHANASA team weren't all that surprised. As underdogs, they were used to being counted out. Came with the territory of being born in the slums, after all.]

Announcer: Well, let's not waste anymore time to find out! Let's get started! *Looks between both teams* Competitors, ready your microphones, please!

[At her word, all six competitors pulled out their HypMics, locking eyes with one another, as they activated in their hands.]

Announcer: Now then, it's time...

Drama Track: Clash of Ambitions

Pt. 2

[The streets of MIHANASA's territory pulsed with a worn but persistent energy. The shuffle of weary workers filled the narrow alleyways as they returned home from grueling shifts, their faces lined with exhaustion yet carrying the quiet determination that kept the district moving. Buildings loomed around them, some barely standing, their facades crumbling from years of neglect, while others had been patched up with whatever scraps their owners could scrounge. Flickering neon signs buzzed above doorways, their glow uneven but stubbornly present.]

[Walking ahead of her teammates, Ming's sharp eyes scanning the streets as they made their usual rounds, stopping only to give a sweet, gentle smile to children who were playing outside, darting between the cracked sidewalks and rusted fences. The sights and sounds of the district were second nature to her. She was used to these scenes after seeing them for almost seven years of being in the slums of Fukuoka. Still despite that, it was still her home, along with her brother's and friend's.]

[Today however, something felt... different. The air carried an unusual tension, as if the streets themselves were bracing for something unseen. Ming narrowed her eyes, her steps slowing as she took in the subtle shift. A weight pressed against her instincts, a feeling that, for some reason, she couldn't shake.]

Ming: *Pausing mid-step, eyes narrowing* ...Something's off.

Tasuku: *Stretching his arms behind his head* Yeah? What, the wind blowing the wrong way or something?

Sanyu: *Crossing her arms, glancing at Ming* No. She's got that look. What did you notice?

[Ming exhaled, her gaze locking onto a figure standing at the edge of a market stall. The posture, the stance, it was unmistakable. Even in MIHANASA's district, their presence felt out of place, an ember flickering against the rough backdrop.]

Ming: *Under her breathe* ...Mai.

————— [At the sound of their name, Mai turned to see the trio unexpectedly, their gaze falling as if the light had faded from their eyes. Eko and Yuno stood slightly behind them, remaining silent and composed.]

Mai: Kawanoe-chan…

[The words fell out of their mouth strangely, causing them to jolt out of surprise. Eko appeared to cover an ear while Yuno massaged his temple.]

Eko: [It’s strong now, almost piercing because we’re face to face with them…Whatever our mic’s are supposed to be telling us, it’s got something to do with our battle!]

Mai: It’s been a minute, hasn’t it?

[Ming's eyes lingered on Mai for a moment longer before she spoke, keeping her voice measured but not entirely free of suspicion.]

Ming: *Softly, yet firm* It has been a minute… I didn't think I'd see you here of all places, though.

[Her tone wasn't hostile, but there was an unmistakable wariness in it. She had no personal grudge against Mai. Ming remembered well how they had once taught the kids in her class to dance, their movements graceful and full of passion. But that was before the battle ahead. Before MIHANASA and OverDrive stood on opposite sides, fighting for the same title.]

Tasuku: *Scoffing, stepping forward, narrowing his eye* Yeah, speaking of which, are you guys lost or something? *Shoots his head back at the opposing group, emphasizing behind them* The rich side of town is back the way you came.

Sanyu: *Steps forward as well, her voice low and firm, with her hands in her jacket pocket* Yeah, what exactly is your business on our turf?

[Ming sighed, shifting slightly as if to ease the tension, but she knew better. Neither Tasuku nor Sanyu were going to back down so easily. The rivalry was set, and no amount of reasoning would dull their irritation now.]

Yuno: [So Eko was right, this energy concerns our rivalry with them. However, we’re clearly missing something…There has to be another reason it boils down to our upcoming battle.]

[Ming glanced at Yuno as he moved forward, his speech filled with contemplation rather than outright hostility. The change in his tone was noticeable, yet it did little to lighten the tension in the air.]

Tasuku: *Scoffs again* That sounds like a bunch of nonsense wrapped in fancy-ass language. Do you really think your philosophical ramblings will make us overlook the fact that you've invaded our territory, pal?

Sanyu: *Narrows her eyes, her voice edged with steel* You can dance around the words all you want, but the reality is simple. This isn't your place, and we're not about to act like we don't see the problem with that.

[As the six individuals faced each other, they were acutely aware that the atmosphere in the slums had transformed dramatically. The usual chatter had hushed, and the typical hustle of workers, vendors, and children had come to a standstill. It wasn't so much fear that had gripped the area, no one was fleeing, but rather a shared stillness, a collective acknowledgment that something momentous was about to transpire.]

[Some residents, cautious of any impending clash, subtly withdrew, slipping into doorways or averting their gazes, keen to sidestep the brewing storm. Yet others remained, their eyes darting back and forth between the opposing groups, intrigued and alert.]

[MIHANASA had long been a fixture in these neighborhoods, their presence a well-known sight. In stark contrast, OverDrive seemed otherworldly; their movements and attire clashed with the dilapidated backdrop. It was evident they hailed from a realm of polished surfaces and pristine buildings. Many bystanders regarded them with barely concealed distrust, their faces hardening at the thought of outsiders encroaching on their domain.]

[A few murmurs slipped through the quiet, voices from the crowd offering quiet but firm support toward MIHANASA. Others merely stood in silence, unwilling to speak but unable to look away. Tension curled through the air, thick and unforgiving. The battle wasn't here yet, but it was coming, everyone could feel it. The slums had seen their fair share of struggles, but this? This was something different.]

[Almost evident to everyone watching the six, while Eko’s voice cracked, the 3s eyes simultaneously began to flicker in their respective colours: Blue, red and yellow along with pounding headaches that resounded in their ears. Grimacing, Yuno put his arms protectively around Eko and Mai and began to walk away.]

[However, not before Mai’s jacket came slightly undone, revealing a partial piece of their back covered in bloody scars as they faded into the sunlight…]

Yuno: [Whispers inaudibly] It’s either they are in denial of realizing the most average people also suffer, or we just have no say in their story of holding this city the longest.

[Soon, the tension that had filled the atmosphere began to dissipate. The audience, which had remained quiet and attentive during the clash, responded in various ways.]

[Some onlookers shared furtive looks before softly conversing among themselves; their faces were hard to read, yet they exuded a sense of quiet satisfaction. A few courageous souls broke the silence with muted cheers, though their voices were low, they carried significant weight, celebrating MIHANASA for standing firm against the intruders who had entered their territory uninvited. Others simply nodded to themselves, as if they had anticipated this outcome all along.]

[The slums were no stranger to conflict, and this incident was merely another wave in the ongoing struggle for Fukuoka’s voice. However, one thing was clear: MIHANASA had claimed victory in that moment.]

Tasuku: *Scowling, whilst shifting his stance* Took them long enough to figure out that they aren't welcome here.

Sanyu: You got that right.

Ming: *Looks back at them, scowling* You guys could have handled that better, you know.

Tasuku: *Waves her off* Oh, please, Sis. Don't bother defending those guys. It's their own fault for intruding where they aren't welcome.

Ming: *Frowns* Yes, but...

Sanyu: He's right, Ming. *Looks back at where OverDrive retreated* People like them... they don't understand what it's like for people like us. They're privileged, we're forsaken. Those two should never mingle. We live in two different worlds.

Sanyu: *Turns around, putting her hood up* And it's better for everyone if they stay in theirs, and we stay in ours.

[With that, Sanyu and Tasuku began walking away, heading back to their apartment, whilst Ming followed behind them, her mind full with a variety of things.]

Ming: ...Their eyes... *Remembers them* ...what was that?

[Right after their PulseCo meeting, OverDrive was back on the streets performing—Well, as Traffic Light to be more specific. The trio donned their forgotten uniforms and began singing some of their most nostalgic hits while adding in a new sprinkle of resentment tracks for OverDrive. With Kairi offering to DJ, Shu and Zaria acting as backup and both NaYuta overseeing their activity, along with Itsuki via NaYuta’s phone from Chuohku’s prison. Yurushi was also involved, enforced as the main backup dancer of the group despite his nervousness around Mai.]

[With a crowd of less than 100, they were atleast grateful for the closest fans still present. They wondered where all the rest used to be: Deciding to forget them? Glossing over the next big act? Or worst case scenario, supporting their rivals behind their backs? The possibilities were practically endless.]

NaYuta: [I hope they made it out okay with the risk they took yesterday…Whatever happens, it’s going to put them in some hot water.]

Drama Track: Clash of Ambitions

Pt. 1

[It had been several days since MIHANASA had come out ahead against the team of the High Rollers in the semi-final round to determine who Fukuoka's representatives would be. After a relatively easy win against the previous team, the trio of Sanyu, Tasuku, and Ming were now prepared to take on their final, and perhaps, hardest challenge to date: the team known as Overdrive, the other Fukuoka team.]

[The group were now in the wasteland they had visited before when first using their HypMics, practicing their hearts out. As stated, this next battle would probably prove to be their toughest battle yet. Though they didn't know much about the other Fukuoka team, they had proven to be quite a threat, especially if they made it to the final round. For that reason, the trio knew they had to be prepared for them when the match came in a few short days.]

Tasuku: Ahh! Alright, that's enough! *Collapses on his butt* Let's take a break, already!

Sanyu: *Looks at him, annoyed* Seriously? Weren't you the one all excited and pushing us to come out here to practice?

Tasuku: *Pants, sweat pouring down* Yeah, yeah, I was hyped, but this heat's no joke! Just five minutes, alright?

Ming: *Her hand resting on her hip, shaking her head* You mean five minutes turning into twenty. We don't have time for that, Tasuku.

Sanyu: *Cracks her knuckles* She's right. This next team isn't just another team, we're up against OverDrive, a crew that climbed the ranks just like us. If we don't treat this seriously, we'll be the ones flat on our backs during the battle.

Tasuku: *Groans, throwing his head back* Alright, alright! Let me breathe before you start sounding like Chuohku's damn lectures!

Ming: *Soft chuckle* You're complaining, but I know you don't wanna lose, either.

Tasuku: *Grins, with a chuckle, as he wipes sweat off his brow* You got that right. Losing ain't in my vocabulary.

Sanyu: Good. *Cracks her neck* So, let's get back it.

Ming: Right!

Tasuku: *Sighs* Yeah, yeah.

[A sudden gust of wind kicks up dust around them, swirling through the wasteland as MIHANASA steadies themselves. The heat presses down, but they three don't falter.]

[Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, the members of OverDrive all had confused looks on their faces. After putting on tons of performances all across the city, they thought it would be easier to walk back to PulseCo in order to finalize their plans.]

[Is what they thought — Until landing on the outskirts of their considered half, more famously known to house MIHANASA. Both the gang and the rap team they were about to face, equally in their minds as more popular in terms of their division…]

Eko: You didn’t mess up the GPS, did you Yuno?

Yuno: …I admit I am not fluctuating in directions.

[Mai steps in between them]

Mai: Maybe we don’t have to turn around just yet

Eko/Yuno: Hm?

Mai: Remember how none of us have been sleeping enough? Because of our mic’s connection…?

[Eko gets a lightbulb in his head]

Eko: Why would the answer be here?

Yuno: You can’t possibly fathom entering this, Mai-san.

[Mai looks at them in the eyes, and back down to the cracked street.]

Mai: If we can’t figure this out, then our battle will~! [With that, the 3 of them took the 1st steps inside and began to traverse the area…Who knows what encounters will await them?]

With that, Sanyu's extended birthday has now come to an end. I honestly can't believe it's taken this long for me to make a birthday post for one of my OC's. I always forget when their birthday rolls around, so I made sure to set a reminder, and thankfully, I didn't forget! I'm glad Sanyu is a popular character, despite her being almost three years old. She's made a lot of progress, and I look forward to seeing where she and the rest of my OC's go.

I hope you all show Ryūzō the same love when his birthday rolls around in four months (Hopefully, I won't forget his birthday either). Again, thank you all!

Sanyu is sitting on her bed in her bedroom. The glass candle given to her by Ming was sitting on her end table, ready to be lit. On a desk in the back of her room, the doll given to her by Eko was seated, having a clear view of the room. Beside it was the soap that was also gifted to her, along with a note from Ming that was a clear reminder to use it the next chance Sanyu got.

Taking out her new zippo lighter, the Fukuoka leader lit the candle, and watched as it quickly became alight. Though it couldn't be seen now, she knew it would make the room look better once she turned off the lights. Her only hope was the message written on the front of it, which would keep the bad dreams away. Standing up, she prepared to turn out the light until she noticed the camera, a little startled.

"Oh, uhh... hey there. I was just... just about to head off to bed, hopefully with no nightmares this time. I just hope this candle Ming gave me actually works.

"But anyway, I just want to say 'thank you' to everyone. I can't say whether this birthday was a good or bad one since its the first one I can recall, but... it wasn't bad. Not at all. I think today was the first time I actually genuinely smiled for once. I... wouldn't be opposed to doing something like this again, but... that won't be for another another year, I guess. ...Oh well, gives you something to look forward to.

"Anyway... that's pretty much all I have to say, so... yeah, thanks and have a good night and all that."

With that, Sanyu hit the switch, turning the light off in her room, though it was still lit thanks to the candle. Laying down in her bed, the Fukuoka leader sighed and closed her eyes. Would she have good, bad, or no dreams tonight? Who can say...

It was in the late afternoon when the enigmatic leader of MIHANASA had just returned home after some wander around the city of her beloved Fukuoka. And that was also the time when her best friend and third member of her team, Ming Kawanoe, informed her that she had yet again got another birthday present from other divisions.

And now comes the unboxing time! As the androgynous entertainer untied the wrapping cloth off her parcel, soon she found the two separated gifts consisting of a cute bento loaded with delicious New year set mosaic suchi and a handmade soap bar with funny quotes. Beside them was also one small card attached along.

After seeing the bento box, Tasuku literally begged Sanyu to share it with him and Ming. Not that he needed to since she was going to split it anyways. The reason for this was because food such as this was a delicacy, at least in their part of Fukuoka; New Year-styled sushi was something they only partook in once a year, twice, if they were lucky. And what kind of person would Sanyu be if she didn't share among the two people who took her in and accepted her?

"When this is over, we'll have to sit down and write them a letter saying 'thank you'."

"Hmhm!"

"Yeash."

At their separate responses, the matriarch of the team looked as both of her teammates were busy stuffing their faces with food from the box, making her frown.

"You know, the two of you could be a little more respectable. The food's not going anywhere!"

"Shurr id ish, id’sh goin’ in our shtu-machs!" Tasuku responded, his mouth full of food.

"Yeash, deffinitely." Sanyu said, nodding her head in agreement. Of course, this only made Ming frown even more, before she shook her head.

"Why do I bother?" She asked out loud, before sticking her pair of chopsticks in the bento box, partaking as well. Twas just another day in the life of the MIHANASA.

As the division of Fukuoka awoke to Sanyu Inouye’s 1st birthday, an unexpected delivery was upon MIHANASA’S apartment. Taking it inside for inspection, it also was surprising according to who it was from…

“To Inouye. You don’t have to read this, but I’ll say it anyway…You’ve come from a long way. Yourself, your teammates, uniting majority of the division under one roof, you know what I mean…I respect that. Most people would’ve gone insane if they were put in your shoes, no offense…Happy birthday…”

Those were the first words spoken by both Tasuku and Sanyu as they, along with Ming were gathered together in the living room, each looking at their own respective dolls, gifted to them by the the opposing Fukuoka team leader, Eko Seishin.

"That guy's got a lot of talents, but doll-making is not one of them." Sanyu said, looking at doll-sized version of herself, a raised eyebrow on her face.

"True that." Tasuku said, doing the same as his teammate. "I mean, it's appreciated, but chocolate or something might have been better."

"Oh, come on, you two!" Ming said, looking at her doll, with a smile. "He got all the details right, for the most part. I think they're kinda cute, actually."

"Peh, speak for yourself, Sis." Tasuku said, still frowning at the doll, whilst holding it up. "I'm way better looking than this. ...And taller."

"Shame you're not quieter, though."

"Hey!"

"Why he'd send this to us anyway?" Sanyu asked, out loud. "I mean, aren't we facing his team in the final round soon? I'd figure he'd be wary of us or something."

"It was probably just a kind gesture." Ming answered, smiling. "We should make sure we thank him and his team once this is over."

"After our battle with him, you mean."

"...Yeah, maybe."

He was happy when I told him today was my birthday. He said he would find something to give me, but I told him that he didn't have to. I was just glad he was around and doing alright."

"I wonder if it says something that my birthday is at the start of a new year. Like I mentioned before, I don't even know if today is my actual birth date. I just chose it cause of Tasuku and Ming. ...But, I'm not complaining about it. I love those two. And I can't imagine life without either of them."
