Sanyu, unfortunately, doesn't remember anything from her childhood, save her parents and how they abused and treated her horribly. Other than that, she doesn't remember anything from her days as a youth. This is mainly due to the fact that she was experimented on by Chuohku, which not only changed her sex and increased her strength to non-human levels, but also wiped out memories of her time before she was used as a lab rat. And the sad thing is, whenever she tries hard to remember her past, the only thing that she gets out of it is a horrible nosebleed and a nasty headache.

...But it's funny: why can she only remember how horrible her parents were and nothing else?

Tasuku is the best liar out of the trio. The sad thing is, he kinda has to be. As a casino worker and an accomplished gambler, his whole deal is to deceive and fool his opponents and players, so lying is something he has to be good at. What's more, like Gentaro, it's hard to tell if what Tasuku is saying is truthful or not, at times. He's not an extravagant liar, but he'll sometimes mix lies in with truth, either to throw a person off, or because, as he says, 'it's practice.'

He wasn't always an accomplished liar; it was something that he learned to do while living with his evil stepmother. It's sad that the only thing he picked up from her is how to lie.

Tasuku doesn't show that he is lying often. Only those close to him, like Sanyu and Ming, can pick up when he isn't being truthful. The easiest way to know when this guy is lying is simply to watch his eye. Most people tend to blink, at least, five times per minute, and Tasuku is no exception. When he's lying, he'll stop blinking and maintain eye contact, either with the person he's talking to, or with something else. He doesn't do this during his job since he knows how to control and because he feels nothing for people he's taking money from. But to his friends and family, he can't control his eye movements.

Ming is neutral when it comes to Valentine's Day. She doesn't hate it, but she doesn't love it either. She knows the children at her schoolhouse love it, so she cuts school time in half and lets them pass out candies and valentines to each other. She finds it cute, but also silly that people go out of their ways to display feelings of love towards their partners.

"You don't need to express how much you mean to your partner. You just need to tell and show it. If they can't tell by your actions and words how much you mean to them, then they probably aren't right for you."

As for confessions, Ming hasn't been confessed to before, but she has confessed to someone. It was when she was six that she confessed to this boy that she really liked. Unfortunately, she made the mistake of doing it in front of her family home. When her stepmom saw her, she chased the boy off and threatened that if he came close to Ming again, he and her family would pay for her. He never approached Ming again for fear of that. Ming didn't speak to her stepmother for half a year because of that.

Yuno’s Thoughts On MIHANSA

“Ah, Fukuoka’s circus performer. Aside from some of my masters seeing her performances and telling me some stories, Inouye-san is rather a ghost to me. Like Mai-san, I learned of her from Eko mostly. To be fair, She does have the firepower in her to lead which is understandable, but sometimes to me she’s coming off similarly rash and sharp-tongued like Mai-san said. But there’s no point being negative, we all have our own qualities as people too…”

Tasuku Kawanoe-

“Another familiar I’ve known from Mai-san. Like Inouye-san, he’s also a sharp-tongued guy who likes speaking his mind. According to Mai, Eko did turn very cold after they told him about being called ‘weak’ and ‘scrawny’, which I would’ve done the same thing, but dealt with it differently. The look on his face, his protective side showing. Apparently, a master of mine has heard of Kawanoe-san’s sister, which would make sense since they go to the same schoolhouse she works at. Getting off topic, Regardless of that, I’ll just stay on the safe side of him…”

Ming Kawanoe-

“Kawanoe-chan’s probably the only one I know out of them. Aside from Mai’s stories and the super nice children there, She seems like a nice person to be around. While I haven’t met her that often, I sometimes see her around downtown if I’m walking around or who knows what I’m doing. Despite her kindness, I’m kind of thinking she might become a target for being rather too nice to people. But I’ll never know, So I don’t thing it’s something to worry about too much…”

MIHANSA-

“Got to admit it, These guys are one heck of a team. They’re similarly like us with being toyed under Chuohku’s nose, which definitely is not a pretty memory. Recently, we’ve been discussing of pulling out of the DRB and reforming Traffic Light again. While I’m not going against their thoughts, I honestly think we can actually represent Fukuoka one day. That’ll all depend if we beat them or not, which is entirely 50/50 based on our skills. While I’m okay with reforming Traffic Light, I feel we might have a chance to take them on. Whatever our choice is, OverDrive or not, Our goal is not going to change once we overthrow those ‘lovely’ ladies that have played cat and mouse with us from the beginning.”

Her eyes soften as she picks up the girls picture.

“I never went through the full extent of experimentation my sister went through” she began to explain “Though I was starved and beaten all the same for not being beautiful enough all the same…i can somewhat sympathize with what they both went through”

“I wonder why her parents did what they did to her- I know the excuse would be invalid in my eyes but I’d like to know. Regardless…i hope the people who did what they did to Sanyu choke on their own blood”

Tasuku

“He really saved my ass during my last visit to Fukuoka” she chuckles “There was this creep tailing me when I went over to a convenience store to buy some to drink- cornered me in an alleyway and was about to mug me”

Megumi shudders

“Luckily Tasuku here knocked his damn lights out before he could do anything serious. I still haven’t paid him back yet but I could probably set him up with one of the older models in the agency i work for- im not old enough to do the normal thing and buy someone a drink”

Ming

“Apparently Mizuki and Ayaka ran into her the other day” Megumi smiles warmly at the photo of the woman “Apparently she’s also Tasuku’s sister- i can kinda see the resemblance!”

Her smile soon grows sad

“I wonder if Aya and I had a teacher like her when we were little- would everything be different?”

MIHANASA

“…” she hangs her head in silence for a moment before speaking a few simple words.

“Clown? Clown! Hehe, I didn’t think there would be a clown in a rap team! Well, aside from the Osaka leader… She looks pretty cute though! Her performance makeup is super crazy, and for some reason I really like it. I think the star mark is my favorite bit, but I’m a sucker for big, bright shapes!”

Tasuku Kawanoe

“Tasuku Kawanoe, age 22, stands at 178 centimeter and weights 54 kilograms… And what a 54 kilos it was. He caught me two weeks into tailing him. I noticed that a lot of clients had partners connected with him, so I decided to follow him on my own time. Normally, I can distract a person and wriggle away, but this guy was on another level. He wouldn’t give up on chasing me and finally caught me in some alleyway, just to clock me in the face. Luckily some of the Fukuoka police officers were right there before the guy could do anything further and they were able to get ahold of him, but I think I caused a lot more trouble than needed. As far as I’m concerned, that stinky pirate is still up to no good, not that I can really do much about it."

"It just sucks whenever a client leads me to him… It makes me want to collect the evidence as quickly as possible and run the opposite direction. I can’t have him ruining my face any further…”

Ming Kawanoe

“Kawanoe… So the pirate’s younger sister? She looks a lot better than her stinky pirate brother, which is definitely a good thing! I guess all the nice, pretty things about their family all went into Ming-chan. And she has that neat little eye thing like Ich-chan again! Gee, there’s a lot of people who have that eye thing happening… I wish I had it too! It’s so much prettier than some boring pair of eyes. Not that I hate myself. I just wish that I could be prettier too!”

MIHANASA

“Mi.. Ha… Nasa? Wonder what that means? It’s a weird name for sure, but it’s unique enough to stand out against every other team name! At least, as far as I know… I can say I’m excited to defeat the evil pirate man, but the others? Well, maybe they would be okay with me just targeting him. If they’re as nice and understanding as they look, they would agree that being a sleazebag like the pirate guy is not right!”

“Sanyu shares too many similarities with Kanra for it to be a coincidence. I think I need to go to Fukuoka and talk with her to see what I can gather. That being said she has sanctuary in Edogawa if she and her team ever needs it. Chuohku knows better than to enter here without me knowing.” 

Tasuku Kawanoe

“Tasuku-kun I met him once while I was in Fukuoka. Apparently destroying his dealer table by choke-slamming someone into it and starting a fight is a good way to get banned. I do hope he can forgive me for doing that. Someone had the audacity to try and grope me and I took offense to that.”

Ming Kawanoe

“I have never met Ming-chan but apparently Kaoru says she’s really nice. I’m glad to see she hasn't let the loss of her arm drag her down. I’ve known many people rot away after losing their limbs. Fukuoka seems real lucky to have her.”

“This division is just like us dragged into Chuohku’s little game. That being said if they ever need help come over to Edogawa. Though I won't go easy on them in the ring."

I see that she’s still alive and well, there was a bit of an uproar over her escape at HQ, good to know she isn’t some rotting corpse in a ditch. The higher ups have placed a bounty to have her return alive or dead-preferably alive-to either terminate her or continue with research, I should keep an eye on her, monitoring, tracking, anything. All that matters is that she is back on that operating table where she belongs.”

Tasuku Kawanoe

“Tasuku Kawanoe, male, 22 years of age, known moniker is Katame, part of the Fukuoka Division and active member of rap group MIHANASA, members are Leader/Circus Performer Sanyu Inouye and 3rd Member/Teacher’s Aide Ming Kawanoe. Specimen is unimportant at best, the only things worth mentioning is his former status as heir of the Kawanoe family, the loss of his eye as a result of the poison his stepmother put on his tea, and his relation with Subject X. Other than that, he is of no interest.”

Ming Kawanoe, female, 21 years of age, known moniker is Miss Ming, part of the Fukuoka Division and active member of rap group MIHANASA, members are Leader/Circus Performer Sanyu Inouye and 2nd Member/Card Dealer Tasuku Kawanoe. Much like her older brother, this specimen peaks no interest other than the fact that she willingly mutilated herself out of a misguided attempt of rebellion. Amusing but disappointed, no further observations.”

She frowns, a troubled expression on her face. “Ah, I’ve seen her before, only once, and it wasn’t a good way. Honestly, part of the reason why I quitted Chuuoku was due to her, or rather what she was subjected to, I truly wanted to help her but I had my own…issues at the time.” She looked away as she bit her lip, features becoming more somber before sighing and looking back. “But I’m so so glad she managed to get out and is living her life but I can’t help but feel angry at Chuuoku for forcing her into the D.R.B.”

Tasuku Kawanoe

“Ah, I haven’t met Tasuku yet but he seems like a very spirited young man despite only having one eye, he almost reminds me of Dice in a way, I wonder if the two of them met before?” She pondered before getting back on topic, “I don’t have much to say but I’m not opposed to meeting him, maybe I’ll have a chance after the D.R.B.”

Ming Kawanoe

“I also haven’t met Ming yet but I’ve heard nothing but praises and I believe them, I can’t imagine going through such hardship that results in losing an entire limb but it’s nothing short of admirable of how she still remains kindhearted and always willing to help others, she has my respect and I hope I can get the chance to talk to her one day.”

MIHANASA

“I truly feel for this team, I’m still upset that Chuuoku forced them into this competition, I really hope that nothing bad happens to them, especially Sanyu because if there’s one thing I learned from Chuuoku, is that they are frighteningly persistent and will not stop until they get what they want. But if they need help, I would gladly assist them with whatever they need, no questions asked.”

🎃 Behind the scenes Pt.1

Even though there are other divisions and some participants which may not be mentioned above, they’re all invited and have their own parts in this event as well. For examples;

Himari Asami, Hiroshi Sakura, and Suzuran Minazuki (who was on the request of her non-blood-related cousin) were in charge of designing and making costumes with the assistance of three fashion interns; Aimi Miyazaki, Alice Shiroka, and Umi Kobayashi.

Akira Arai, Natsume Kurome, Kururi Yamamura and Queen Card’s team were noted to took part in making props. By the way, Kureha Koizumi was anticipated to participate in this as well but she unexpectedly showed up in the opening show —much to everyone’s surprise.

Reiaki Suzubayashi and Emiko Akaibara showed to work together on helping the cast prepare themselves before entering the stage.

Chiyuri Seiguni was tasked to be the main operator of most special effects on stage via the brief from the real technician, Raiden Otoha since this one had to take his part in the 7th show.

Aiko Mayeda was the D.J. and he got the party started! The 86 band and other musical units associated with other division members were also joined in to provide music for some songs.

Most choreography throughout the shows were designed and coached by Yeong Hajoon, Haruto Morikawa, and Kaede Iwasawa.

The representative of Snowflake Sentinel News, Yoichi Shujo; and the head of a certain publishing-house, Nellie Yukimura were assigned to deliver the details of this event. Please expect more live reports and some tidbits behind the scenes from them.

The foods and drinks in this event were all supplied by the alliance between Luis Kōkyū, Rashaad Young, Harumatsuya shop, and Rikiya farm.

The main sponsors of the previous event are Sigma Inc., Toi Pharmaceutical, and E.L. Medical Co. Therefore, this time it’s the turn of Wonder⇓anD Sound Systems, Arakawa Tech Industries, and the concert venue was organized by the entertainment agency “Kairiku Production” with the cooperation of Queen Card’s league. 

For some reason, a certain division was banned from participating —to be specific, it’s Ginza Division. However, Eiji Noguchi and his family were secretly invited because his children wanted to come.

At first Fusao Ise and Queen card were honored to be the MCs (or the hosts) of this event but because the latter had to ‘prepare’ for her own part in the 11th show, Reika Aichi was surprisingly nominated to take over this role once again alongside Fusao.

At the beginning, all the cast were seen wearing some kind of masquerade mask before their first show started.

Though not every division was present in the 3rd show, there were flags with symbols of each team ever participated in the D.R.B. showing on stage.

For whatever reason, Aranai Norikoru was the one who delivered the line “Toki wo (Shout)!” before the chorus “Kakumei wa matte (The revolution has succeeded)!” was sung by all divisions. Well, someone in the cast seemed visibly displeased with how this turned out.

Despite the 6th show being performed by Yuuya Kanata and Yorii Sakuma, the one who advised them on the lyrics was their senior musician, Ren Nakashima, and the music provider for this show was none other than the 86 Band

Before two boys of the 6th show left the stage, the camera caught both Yuuya and Yorii high-fiving Ren who was up for the next show…

She looks barely old enough to be out of high school. ...I have to say though, its funny seeing the government going out of their way to offer a bigass reward just to capture some kid because of something she did to them. Well, if they're looking for some stooge to do their dirty work for them, they might as well keep looking, cause they'll get nothing from me!"

Tasuku Kawanoe

"I like this kid! I see him in the casinos almost every night, taking money from those poor rich schmucks who don't know the first thing about gambling. I heard he and that Dice kid from Shibuya are pretty close, which is no surprise. I've talked to him here and there, and he's pretty cool! Plus, we both have matching accessories!" Eldrid points to her missing eye, before laughing out loud at her joke.

Ming Kawanoe

"...Damn, and I thought I had it rough. I have to wonder what the hell happened to this kid to make her lose her own arm. Still, it isn't the worst thing to happen to a person. I've known people that have lost entire limbs, but still manage to get through life pretty well. But she really needs to loosen up a bit! If they didn't have last names, I'd never have thought she and the guy from before were siblings!"

MIHANASA

"So now Chuohku is forcing even the homeless and kids that look like their barely out of high school into their little tournament, huh? Damn, those guys have way too much free time on their hands. ...Or rather, too many damn HypMics. But anyway, I feel sorry for them, but if we happen to go against them, don't expect mercy from me. Nothing personal, guys."

Rashaad's Thoughts on Fukuoka Division

"I rarely see this girl around Okinawa, but anytime I do, I always let her in my bar, regardless of the time. Why? Because anyone with any sense can tell that she's been through a lot. It also doesn't help the fact that Chuohku has a warrant out for her arrest. I don't know why they want her, and I don't want to know. But judging from her stance and demeanor, it's obvious Chuohku has done something to her, and doesn't want her spilling any secrets.

"I can't say much for the rest of Okinawa, but she can find solace here at The Eagle's Nest."

"To say Tasuku here is loud would be an understatement. "'Mr. Aoi', himself? He's the closest thing Fukuoka has to a top-notch celebrity, I guess. ...But then again, since we're all part of this rap tournament that's sponsored by Chuohku, we've all been in the limelight. So... if you stop and think about it, doesn't that all make us kind of celebrities too? If so, it sure doesn't feel like it. I mean, aside from rapping in front of all of Japan, nothing about our lives has really changed. We're still doing the same old stuff that we've been doing long before..."

"Like Sanyu mentioned, I met this person when she and I came to pick Ming up from work. My stepmom would say that that was what they were there for, but I didn't view it like that. I know they were just doing their jobs, but I hated relying on others to do things for me. “If I’m being honest, Inouye-san is kinda scary…Strong, but scary for a woman. According to Eko, She’s yet another Chuohku experiment like us, but I shouldn’t be surprised at this point, after all Chuohku can get away with just about anything. Other than that, I don’t know too much about her. She’s a strong person, but I think she needs to step away from being rash to others, that’s what makes her unsettling if you will…”

Tasuku Kawanoe-

“Kawanoe-chans brother? I’ve met him before. He’s got that ‘clouded in mystery’ vibe most people carry around, both his looks and his personality. Despite him being a mysterious guy, he has a sharp tongue. ‘Weak’, ‘Scrawny’, when I told Eko about it he almost went cold as literal ice, literally. While he’s not as bad, I wish he’d bring down his judgy side a bit more. Aside from that, he’s toleratable.”

Ming Kawanoe-

“Ah, Kawanoe-chan. They’re one of the nicest people I’ve ever met in Fukuoka. Through our days working at the schoolhouse, She’s pretty good with handling the kids, Maybe even as good as Yuno-chin. What’s even better is the kids always are asking her when I’d return, which is probably the sweetest thing I’ve heard. They’re the good egg of the bunch, not to be rude. Overall, It’s nice to see them during weekdays when I’m not working, even if it isn’t for long.”

“So they’re one of the stronger ones huh? Not to sound like Onii-san, but I’m always looking for a challenge. Like he said, they’ve been here before us, so I imagine they’ll have way more experience than we do. I think I’d agree with Eko for stepping out and reforming Traffic Light again and we’d be out of Chuohku’s radar, but we’ll still overthrow Chuohku one day. Even if they represent Fukuoka, Onii-san, Yuno-chin and I are going to give it all we have. So look out MIHANSA!”

“Anyway Aya and I were in Fukuoka waiting for Megumi to finish up some photoshoot- and these two little kids come barreling out of the playground nearby! Apparently they wanted my autograph and I scribbled one off so they would go back to their teacher and not scare the crap out of the responsible adults. I’m pretty sure the nice lady almost had a heart attack when Ayaka almost fell over and her joints started cracking”

“I had to be the one to explain it since Ayaka had to put her leg back in place! I kinda hurried them off back towards the playground after that” she smiles “Yknow I wish I had a teacher like her when I was little- would have made the days a bit more bearable”

“Hm? I think I recall seeing her face, but I can’t really put my finger on where exactly. Still, a circus performer is certainly an interesting choice of occupation. Japan does have a history of street performing troupes, but I’m sure that Inouye-san takes more inspiration from the Western circus performances rather than Japan’s techniques, judging from her performance makeup. It does suit her, just disappoints the history geek in me.”

“I have heard bits and pieces about this man, although now that I see the photo of him, it does make me a bit… Confused. From the way I heard him described, he sounded rough on the edges, but still kind and caring for the people he cares for. Now that I see his face… He doesn’t exactly fit that image. I suppose looks can be deceiving, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt. Even if his choice of occupation is… Questionable in a way.”

Ming Kawanoe

“I’m more familiar with Kawanoe sensei, seeing as I went to the school she teaches at in Fukuoka to give some lessons. It was pretty nerve wracking for me since I don’t normally teach younger children, but Kawanoe sensei was so kind enough to support me the best she could. I found myself enjoying myself while teaching her class and I didn’t have the chance to reflect on it until the lesson had ended. I don’t know if my heart could handle going back to a school like that, but it feel as though I could make an exception for her and her class.”

“It’s a strange choice of a team name… Wonder what the meaning behind it is? Most team names so far has been more or less explainable, but ‘MIHANASA’ is certainly something different. Whatever it is, I’m sure that if we are ever to battle, they would be an interesting team for our team to fight.”

“He’s a card dealer, right? I never understand the point of gambling anyways I’m banned from his casino. Apparently counting cards and exploiting the rules of a game counts as cheating. He was so pissed when I did that at his table!”

“Ah Ming! She asked if I was willing to teach her class how to use a computer. I agreed and spent a whole day teaching her kids about computers and internet safety. It actually wasn't too bad and I had a blast trying to entertain them. I wonder if this is what my Dad felt when he taught his class?”
