This is my friend of several years! We played foppish besties in DND. They work really hard and are passionate about their job, which does so much to help others, and have worked too damn hard for too damn long to get undone by medical bills FFR!!!!

As some of you know, I broke my leg last month. Because of this I have been unable to work. The most ironic part is that I had just gotten off of medical leave due to my ehlers-danlos syndrome. It was literally my first day fully back to work, and that evening I fell down some metal stairs and broke my leg in two different places.

Despite being unable to work and working with the state to get on medical leave, my bosses are trying to talk to me about when I will be going back to work. My job is too emotionally and physically demanding for me to be able to do it in my current state. For reference, I work at the daytime engagement center for youth experiencing homelessness that I went to back when I was 19 & 20. I can't be there for my clients in my condition. They deserve better than what I would be able to give. Plus, this job has already destroyed my body, and that was before I broke my leg.

I'm uncertain what the future holds. I won't be too surprised if my work finds a way to let me go. They've been talking to me about it for a while because my chronic condition already drained my PTO, and I have none to use for flare-ups, much less a broken leg. The state could deny an extension of my medical leave, meaning I won't get any sort of back leave for the last month.

I'm terrified that I'm going to face homelessness for a third time. I don't know if I will be able to survive that.

The clone baby is me as a baby where is that option [12:01 AM] i would raise them as an experiment in seeing what i could have become with a happy childhood, including making sure they're not raised by someone who thinks of them as an experiment (myself) but they would want for nothing [12:01 AM] (i selected 'i have some other nuanced feeling about my relationship to this clone baby') they're basically like a sim in my image [note: this is my response copied off discord. and i think the timestamps are gonna be really important if this gets seen]

Scenario: a sample of your DNA was taken, popped into a cell, and cloned into a baby, gestated in a sci-fi artificial womb vat. The first time you or anyone in your family meets this baby is after it has already been born out of said vat. You can hold the newborn if you want, it's up to you, but it is a living breathing baby that was cloned from your DNA and is genetically identical to you.
