"I like cookies, gran'pa," Miriam grinned innocently.

"Yeah, ok," Fig sighed, tightening his hold on her. "But no more apparating. And your mom said only one before going to bed."

Miriam frowned but kept quiet as Fig took her to the kitchen. Her wide brown eyes observed as he opened the cupboard over the sink and revealed the full jar of cookies. He grabbed only one.

"Here, let's go back to sitting, shall we?"

Miriam munched on her cookie, but her eyes were glued to the cupboard.

Suddenly, it caught on fire.

"Fuck!" Fig shouted, placing Miriam on the floor. "Shit. No- Don't- Don't repeat those words, ok darling?" Then he ran back to the kitchen, trying to stop the fire with a couple of spells.

When the fire died out, he turned to make sure Miriam wasn't injured.

And one oc based on the 5 Muses from Hercules was on the way but hairstyle reminds me too much of Jamil's during his town event so I'll scrap him too if I don't find a new hairstyle for him :(

Saint-Saëns - Piano Concerto no.1 in D Major

I. Andante - Allegro assai

The structure of the first movement is... predictable.  (I’m not saying that as a criticism.  I like that I can follow the music well enough to hear the connections.  Especially with the horn calls.)  The waterfalls in the piano about halfway through the movement are a wonderful setup to next smaller section.  The jubilant return of the first theme in the strings becomes laced with tension before the piano rejoin and then a new variation begins.  The closing return of the theme is preceded by a soft virtuosic piano interlude that continues over the orchestra, building to the end.

II. Andante sostenuto, quasi adagio

The second movement is reflective, with only the solo piano and underlying strings that first provide a smooth undertone.  The accompaniment is minimal, with all focus on the singular piano theme.  Even in the piano, there is only one part with extended cadenzas.  A short clarinet solo to introduce the next theme gives a colour change before solo piano with accompanying strings.  The thin instrumentation does not feel sparse.  Strings re-introduce the solo clarinet, which in turn is an introduction for the piano.  The short colour changes ground the ear - a soundpost, if you will.  The closing section is full of stepwise motion - trills of varying speeds and the actual end of the movement has three cadences in succession with rest in the middle.  Fakeout endings before the final resolution BUT it’s not jarring enough to scare you when the orchestra (surprisingly) has not finished.  It draws the listener in.

III. Allegro con fuoco

In my experience, almost any music with the instructions of con fuoco is a fun piece.  And the opening of the movement does not disappoint.  The interjecting orchestral interludes are a playful contrast to the piano.  The final two minutes build tension towards the end, with the wind and brass melody swelling with piano interjections.  Everything builds towards the end, V I V I in the orchestra with the piano overtop until the piano finishes and the orchestra cadences in a grand finale.
