You may notice Sylvanas looks a little funny, she developed head tilt very suddenly in January and now has some inner ear damage from an infection. The first few weeks were really rough (when I first found her she was so off I thought she'd broken her leg or something) and she was so unsteady that I was worried she'd have to live in a cage her whole life, but she surprised us all and stabilized really well soon after.

She'll be a bit crooked for the rest of her life, but it's manageable with an anti-inflammatory and doesn't seem to affect her much anymore fortunately. Edit: Also, forgot to add that Oliver's first birthday is tomorrow, so he'll have some cute photos of that soon too!

Here's an update of how he looked with his costume on, plus some of big sister Sylvanas! It was a little warm at the beginning so there's ice packs in some pics but it cooled down pretty soon after trick or treating started.

He did so well for his first Halloween and loved the attention from all the kids, he even gave them kisses when they'd pet him ❤

GOOD LORD, WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THERE?!

A really cool, once in a lifetime event happened in my state and of course I didn't have my "good" camera with me. Fortunately my phone has a great night mode, this was a lot fainter IRL. I was driving home after hiking around Washington's Crossing when my mom called me about them. Drove almost 2 hours to the darkest part of the state and got home at 11:45 on a work night but it was worth it!

I stopped at one spot for a while, didn't see anything and started driving home after pretty much giving up on seeing them. Saw something red out my right window, pulled off on a rural road and there they were! First time ever seeing them so it was pretty intense! Apparently they went back home to Canada tonight so I would've missed them if I'd waited.

Going to try and see the Tsuchinshan comet this week too, a lot of cool astronomy things are happening this year.
