So I've seen alot of people say this (I kinda was scrolling through twitter and some of the tags on Tumblr) and I wanna kinda adress it.

Warning, spoilers for Encanto underneath this and a rant.

Alma Madrigal is not a narcissist.

Alma Madrigal was the 'villain' but she is a villain that DESERVES REDEMPTION

I've seen this so much and I just got super fucking upset when someone said that she was and that the person trying to EXPLAIN was an 'Alma Apologist' and a 'Narcissist Apologist'

I don't like giving off personal information about myself but right now I'm in therapy because of Generational Trauma(it's a straight up bitch lol), and a variety of other things.

I've watched the Encanto Movie three times. Once with my family, a second time with my girlfriend, and a third time by myself (If Disney is reading this, I watched it completely legally, I swear. 100% Legally).

I've talked about the Encanto Movie with my therapist. About how Generational Trauma destroys families sometime and how people could break free from it and heal from it.

The main thing I remember her saying is that trauma is different for everyone. While I have Trauma from past events and generational trauma, other people in my position may not.

Alma Madrigal has (Not Generational) Trauma, and people very often forget about that, which, I don't know why.

In Dos Oruguitas, we see that Alma and Pedro's village was attacked and destroyed(Many people guess that the flashback takes place in 1899- 1902. Since the candle's been tended for 50 years, the events of the movie could possibly take place in the 1950's to the early 1960's, which means the war we see is most likely the Thousand Days war), and they (Thankfully) are able to get away with several other refugees.

But luck, unfortunately, will not be on their side, as the people destroying their village come after them, and Pedro sacrifices himself in order to keep his wife and children safe- and Alma gains the magic that protects the rest of the family.

Do you know how fucking traumatic that must be?

How HORRIBLE it must have been?

She lost her home, her husband, and gained a candle that had MAGICAL FUCKING POWERS all in one day.

Alma Madrigal is traumatized, and has most likely never gotten help because she was busy mourning her husband and RAISING HER MAGICAL KIDS, and if you haven't forgotten that one statement, Hurt people hurt people.

She begs for forgiveness at the end of the movie because she realizes that it's not the miracle that she needed to protect, it's not the gifts that make them. It was her kids, and her grand kids.

Narcissistic people don't do that. Narcissistic people wouldn't beg for forgiveness- they'd only think about themselves.

My mother's popular theory is that Alma thought that the 'Miracle' was actually her husband's spirit keeping them all safe and giving them 'gifts' to keep them safe.

If Alma truly did think this, it may have been one of the reasons why she struggled with realizing she was giving her children and grandchildren generational trauma and regular trauma until one of them explained- making her realize 'Oh fuck, I have been an asshole.'

She still realized that she had done something wrong at the end of the day. She still has trauma- horrible trauma, but she's WORKING on it.

Everyone that I see calling her a narcissist has to realize that she's been through TRAUMA. Please realize that while yes, what she did was wrong, and I can't blame it on her trauma, but if you listen to the last song she apologizes about everything she's done, and if you don't, in the song she tells them that she was worried that she'd loose all of her family too if she didn't keep them close.

I hate that alot of people are straight up acting like Alma is like some sort of Frollo(The Hunchback of Notes Dam), and that she did this because she WANTED to hurt her family.

She NEVER wanted to hurt the family, she LOVES her family.

Please stop hating on Alma, straight up. Alma's trying her fucking best. I get that you want to 'blame the villain for everything' but this time there is no villain to blame.

No, I'm not an Alma Apologist, whatever the fuck that means. I'm just here to say sometimes you should think before you post, and don't be a fucking idiot.

man. oh gosh I have a doozy. imagine abuela alma or Isabella break the camels back on their invisibility gift grandkid / cousin as they try to tell them they don't wanna see them somewhere and they just blow UP. all 'you don't wanna see me? FINE. Have it your way!' as they turn invisible and blot out of casita. Through all that, they find out that they can select who to be visible to- and the rest of the Madrigals can see them just fine until they start helping Alma or Isabella track them down.

Ooof, that would blow up on them astronomically. Abuela not being able to actually see them and thinking the others are lying about it- man.

I've been gone for so long as I've been rewriting a series Aphmau did when I was younger. Decided to make a new tumblr account for the rewrite since I didn't want to clog up this one. I've also been gone as I recently just got out of the hospital (again,) for the last time!! No more hospital visits for me, I am finally free of them!!

Encanto Pokemon Au!! What pokemon does everyone have?

Alma: Lucario. She's had it since she was a little kid, and it's grown with her. Lucario's shown regret in not being able to save Pedro but Alma doesn't blame him.

Julieta: Chansey. When she opened her door, Chansey popped out of the door! She's now Blissey, and they've been friends for a very long time.

Pepa: Castform. Opening her door revealed Castform, who can change due to whatever weather goes on. Castforms helped Pepa with her emotions and the weather.

Bruno: Meowstic. They'd been through.. alot together. When Bruno hid, Meowstic went with him. Ofcourse, people would still see Meowstic around out of the corners of their eyes, but... Somehow, whenever they turned to look at it fully the pokemon was never there...

Agustine: Spinda. Her and Agustine get into so much trouble and somehow keep having to come back at the end of the day to be healed by Julieta and Chansey

Felix: Stoutland. Him and Stoutland are usually the two making sure Pepa And Castform are alright. They love Pepa and Castform and are always willing to lend a hand.

Isabela: Roserade. Both her and her pokemon love to make flowers, but also strive to be the best and often struggle with being the best.

Luisa: Machamp! They both often struggle with having to be strong all the time and it's frankly really tiring, but they wanna be the best of the best!

Mirabel: Evee. She found the pokemon hurt in the jungle near the house at 8, and decided to keep them. They've never leveled up, since Alma didn't want the unevolved pokemon being seen around town.

Dolores: Audino. They both have sensory Overloads because of how well they can hear. They often know everything about everyone.

Camilo: Ditto. They both like to play tricks on the townspeople, and Ditto will often shift into Camilo to steal a couple of Arepas.

Antonio: Litleo. They like to run around and have fun- although they do still help! However, Litleo and Antonio help the townspeople find their pokemon that they've missed.

The townspeople have their own Pokemon, but the Madrigals are still considered the best of the best in pokemon- plus they still have their powers, thought to have been given to them by Arcreus. Sometimes the family travels, but they usually stay inside their Casita!

Isabela stared at Mirabel as her younger sister joked and laughed with Camilo, shutting her room door. What the hell was she supposed to say to Abuela? What if Abuela didn't.... Believe, or-

She groaned, collapsing on her bed. She wished she was Dolores right now. Then she wouldn't have to tell her Abuela that she was...

Isabela sighed, throwing flowers in the air in anger, then cactuses at the wall. Honestly, they really thought that a girl who could grow flowers out of the fucking wazoo wasn't some time of queer?!

A knock at the door makes her freeze, and she glanced down at it, almost forgetting that she had pulled her bed up to throw more flowers in the air.

"Come in. It's not like my life is falling apart anyways." The door opens, and she glanced down, hearing the click of heels, but not able to see anyone, and she huffs. "Camilo, I swear to god if it's you coming to make fun of me again-"

"Isabela?" She pulled over to the side of the bed. Shit. It was Abuela. "Camilo told me you had something to tell me...?" She quickly slid off the bed, using her flowers to get down safely.

"tell you something? No, no, nothing I.." She bit her lip. "Well...."

"yes?" Cmon Isabela. You can do this. Lets go.

"I.. uh.. like... Girls. I'm queer, Abuela." It's quiet for a bit, and Isabela is panicking big time, before Abuela puts a hand on her chest, breathing out.

"I thought it was something bad." Her face is taken in Abuelas hands before both her cheeks are kissed. "Don't scare me like that, Isa."

"But.. but i-"

"One word. Bruno." Abuela chuckles. "That's all." She starts to leave the room as Isabela's mind starts spinning and- HOLD ON WAIT A SECOND!

"WAIT IS TIO BRUNO QUEER AS WELL?! ABUELA WAIT I NEED TO KNOW!!! ABUELA!?" Isabela runs after her. She needed to know. There was no way he came out before her.

Bruno: Dude I... I'm like five feet at mos- Antonio's almost taller than me?!

More Headcannons for TITF

Bruno and Jasper bond very fast. One, because Bruno is one of the people who knows English

Felix and Jasper would also bond fast as well, since he’s the other person who knows spanish

Whenever Felix and Bruno wanna talk shit about the someone they’ll do it in English so the person doesn’t know what their saying.

Felix and Mariano catch on like a house on fire and Pepa and Dolores absolutely hate on it (but on the DL they love that their getting along, Dolores was very worried her father wouldn’t like Mariano)

Mirabel is sometimes stressed after having to raise two kids and partly take over as the head of the family but Julieta and Agustine are always there for her.

Jasper has insomnia. He’s had several nightmares because of what happened to him before Bruno found him so he’s up very often. 

Jaquline and Agustine take the medal for ‘Most injuries in a single day’ as Jaquline broke her arm falling off the roof and Agustine broke his wrist trying to grab her from falling off said roof. Casita tried to help but.. she couldn’t do much after they had already fallen. She did bring Julieta over to help! Both were forced to wear a cast for a week until Julieta finally decided to heal them.

Antonio likes to hang out with everyone of them, but his favourite cousin is Quin because they love animals.

Quin burned an animal once by accident experiencing heavy emotions for said animal and litterally cried so hard Antonio had to repeatedly say that it was okay.

Julieta teaches all of them how to cook the basics.

Delma and Alexio are the oldest, both ranking in at 18

Jaquline and Quin are both 15, Second oldest.

Sal is 13

Jasper is the baby of the family (and he hates it) coming in at 9

Delma and Quin look exactly like Mirabel, except Delma has green eyes and Quin has Brown eyes.

Delma keeps his hair up in a bun, while Quin keeps their hair as short as Mirabel allows it to be.

Alexio looks like a perfect copy of his Abuela Pepa, with red firey hair and yellow-ish eyes. He often copies his Abuela as a joke and sometimes will get struck by lightning. He’s been struck so many times that he doesn’t mind anymore.

Jaquline looks like a mixture of both Mariano and Dolores. She has wavey long hair, tired brown eyes, and a kind smile. Even though Alexios the oldest she often finds herself having to be the oldest in a situation.

Jasper kinda looks a little like Felix. He’s black, with short curly hair, brown eyes, and dark blue glasses. Bruno found him all alone out in the woods at five with just a note, and brought him back to the family. He’s very small for his age.

Sal was adopted from a nearby village. She’s tan, with big brown eyes and long curly black hair. She may have no gift but she does know how to fight- something that’s gotten her in trouble alot.

The Casita is an actual living entity, born on the day of Pedro and Alma's marriage.

To explain, The Casita is a actual Entity, kinda like a ghost- a manifestation of love and hope basically. It was a simple thing at first- not a house- just making sure Pedro and Alma were okay. When Pedro died, it decided to give his children gifts to better protect them, and just moved on to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

When it broke it was because the love and hope wernt there. The entity was okay, but it could no longer protect the house and keep it the way it was/ could no longer keep the gifts working.

The Casita is older than the adults but has the flipflopping mindset of a child and a teenager.

Decided to do a bit of drawing and draw Jasper! Bruno's kid. He's nine, likes the colour blue, and wants to be as important as the rest of the family, expecially since he feels like an outsider.

He's apart of a AU called This Is The Future AU, where we explore the Madrigal's, their relationships, and their children in the future!

Note, I can't draw on my phone, so this looks kinda shit. His ruana looks weird and everything, but once I get the all clear to sit up again(which should be tomorrow), I'll be able to do more drawings of the rest of the future Madrigal family, so stay tuned for more drawing content tomorrow!!
