This is one week set apart from the rest of the year that will be entirely dedicated to Padmé and Anakin, in the form of — ART! You are invited to show your love for this pairing using any artistic expression of your choice, be that; drawings, edits, videos, gifs, literature etc. This means all fanworks are accepted, from the traditional art and fic to videos or playlists, anything you make, we want to see. Be creative, and take your muse wherever it leads you! This is not a contest of skill, but an event to showcase our appreciation for literally how much we cannot contain our love for this couple (it’s not something to be suppressed, believe us!) What will happen is between the dates of May 4th to May 10th there will assigned themes. Please do not start submitting works until these dates. As has been practice for the past few AnidalaWeeks, this year there will be two daily themes, to encourage a greater number of works from even more participants. Any and all levels of involvement are welcomed, from posting everyday to only having something for one of the days. The most important thing is to have fun and share your love of Anidala!
Anidala Week 2021 Themes:
Day 1 - May 4th: Headcanon/Missing Scene OR Favorite Scene
Day 2 - May 5th: Canon Divergence OR Favorite Canon work
Day 3 - May 6th: Mythology/Fairy Tales OR Favorite Touches
Day 4 - May 7th: Modern AU OR Favorite Trope
Day 5 - May 8th: Fusion/Alternate Fandom OR Favorite Quote
Day 6 - May 9th: Time Travel OR Favorite Parallel
Day 7 - May 10th: Free Day
As is Anidalaweek tradition, the last day is a free day. No prompt or theme, make whatever you want to make!
Any questions or concerns, the Anidalaweek ask box is always opens. There is also a guidelines page up on the blog for instructions on how to post your work. It’s only March now so there’s plenty of time to start creating! More information will come out as needed!

One of the neatest things about the Prequel Trilogy is that the character traits which, in any other circumstances, would be virtues end up being the cause of the character’s downfall. Obi-Wan’s dedication to the rules is why he fails as Anakin’s mentor. Padme’s faith in ‘human’ decency and her drive to help others, makes her unable to see the problems of both her husband and the Republic until it’s too late. Anakin’s sense of personal loyalty, need to help, and, most critically, deference to authority, lead him to become Vader. The fact that it’s everyone’s virtues, rather than their flaws, which destroy them make their stories that much more tragic.
