Things in RE6 which will never fail to kill me:

How when Leon is aiming his weapon at the president, he hesitates. He hasn’t hesitated since RE2. 

How he calls him “Mr. President” repeatedly, distancing himself, until he realizes he has no choice and he needs to fire.

How he screams “Adam!” when he fires and actually closes his eyes.

How in a game so driven by revenge, where Helena constantly references her sister and Chris is absolutely obsessed by his dead team, Leon doesn’t mention Adam again after apologizing to his corpse.

How the guy is so fucking shut down in this game, refusing to let himself grieve about Adam, visibly withdrawing on himself and focusing on the mission when he thinks Ada is dead. Let yourself breathe, man!

How he doesn’t bring up Adam, he doesn’t bring up Ada, he doesn’t bring up any of that… but repeatedly brings up Raccoon City, how everything reminds him of Raccoon City.

Valentines with the various Leons 🌹 (Chreon Edition)

Happy Valentine’s everyone!🌹 I made a post about how the various Leons would be on Valentine’s Day, with Chris! These do not follow canon, and also differ in how Chreon met each other so do read the context to get a clearer picture of their relationship in each one :D

not too sure if I’ll do an x reader version of this, but hope you guys enjoy! apologies for the inconsistent tenses midway and switching to fanfic mode at the end, I just really wanted to write that one as a scene xD

RE2 Remake Leon:

Context: AU where the zombie apocalypse didn’t happen, Leon and Chris are colleagues in the RPD

Leon and Chris started dating after working as colleagues in the RPD for a while. Since Leon joined the force in late September and Chris didn’t ask him out until January, they’d only been dating for a slightly awkward few weeks when Valentine’s rolled around. Actually, Leon had forgotten that it was Valentine’s because of how busy he was at work. He only made the connection between Chris asking him out for dinner and Valentine’s when he overheard some colleagues joking about Jill’s surname. He panicked about getting Chris a Valentine’s present, but eventually didn’t have any time to rush to a store after work. So when Chris gave him a bouquet of flowers at dinner, he could only shyly offer to kiss him on the cheek. Their first Valentine’s would always be memorable to them with Chris realising that Leon was offering that only because he’d forgotten to get him a gift, and proceeding to burst out laughing in the middle of the restaurant they were at. Leon had apologised frantically, but Chris had only laughed and reassured him that it was okay. After that, they went to Leon’s home to cuddle, resulting in them going to bed late, and consequently turning up late for work. (Wesker scolded Chris fiercely for that, and Leon didn’t miss the more-annoyed-than-usual glare Wesker fixed him with when he passed by)

RE4 Leon:

RE4 Leon may be snarky as all hell, but he goes all out on Valentine’s. When Chris actually does remind him that it exists, that is. Chris happens to ask Leon if there’s anywhere he’d like to go for Valentine’s Day, and he’s like “...oh. Oh, right, that.” When Valentine’s comes around, Leon goes out with Chris for the whole day, spending their day like a sweet, stereotypical couple, the entire day’s schedule neatly planned and organised by Chris. Chris doesn’t think Leon has anything else planned for the day except for the surprise box of chocolates, but there is something more Leon has planned for him.

When Chris comes out of the shower, he finds Leon lying naked on their bed, wrapped up neatly with a red ribbon complete with a bow, smirking at Chris and whispering “come here, handsome”.

RE6 Leon:

Context:  Chris and Leon met up by chance in a bar after the events of RE6. When Leon starts to apologise about the whole Ada incident, Chris stops him midway. “What are you apologising for? I should be the one to apologise.” After the night of emotional confession, Chris ended up taking Leon home, and they started dating a while afterwards once Leon finally managed to convince Chris that he was over Ada, and was totally into him.

RE6 Leon actually takes Valentine’s (and appreciating his partner) seriously and with a more traditional approach, sick of being played around by Ada (read: the “night where they left off” in Damnation) and moving on to start a new life with Chris Redfield. Leon prepared a dinner restaurant booking, flowers, and chocolate - the whole damn set. Chris showed up in a fancy suit and tie, and was admittedly pretty surprised when Leon brought out all his gifts (and even broke out fancy wine just for him). All in all, RE6 Leon is still nowhere as much of a romantic as Chris is, but he knows how to properly treat his partner on Valentine’s, and he and Chris have the best Valentine’s they could ever hope for.

Vendetta Leon:

Context: established relationship, can follow from RE6

Leon just can’t believe his bad luck. He’s on vacation for Valentine’s - deliberately choosing that week just to spend the weekend with Chris. Unfortunately the DSO called him in for a quick mission to clean up an abandoned Umbrella laboratory, causing him to miss Valentine’s, and the next few days after that. He’s in a worse mood than ever by the time he returns home to where Chris is waiting.

“I can’t believe our Valentine’s got ruined again,” Leon grumbles, flopping down onto the sofa next to his boyfriend. “I was looking forward to it.”

“Well, it doesn’t need to be Valentine’s really, as long as we feel romantic enough,” Chris says, sidling up to him.

“Tsk, you’re lame.”

“I was really looking forward to Valentine’s too, but I guess today’ll have to do too, because I don’t want to put this off any longer.”

“Put what off…?” The question dies in Leon’s throat as Chris slides off the sofa and gets down on one knee before him. In an instant, Leon’s annoyance immediately dissipates into thin air, replaced by shock and disbelief and affection as Chris pulls out a small velvet box.

“Leon...” Chris is blushing, Leon knows he is too, and he knows that this moment will forever be engraved in his memory as Chris slowly opens the box to reveal a shimmering ring.

“Will you marry me?”
