UAV Project Progress: Spacewalk 550v2 Frame Build

So finally the frame arrived. This being my first attempt at quad-copter  I didn't wish to invest much on frame made of carbon fiber or aluminium, so I went with fiberglass. The parts arrived neatly, but the M3 driver wasn't included (can't complain as this unit only costed me 30 GBP).

Driver set was brought from amazon.

The build wasn't too difficult. Just follow the included instruction. One hick up I found was the instruction provided was for the version 1, but there isn't too much of a difference.

The completed build. I know, it looks LETHAL!

Next stop would be Xbee telemetry Kit

Hunt for Text Editor

There are many text editor available on the internet. From completely free like notepad (windows) and textedit (OS X) to Coda which cost in the range of $100. Recently I have bumped into an amazing text editor named Sublime Text 2.

It's completely free and gets regular update. Best of all, it supports Retina Graphics for the new Macbook Pro. The code interface can be tweaked to suit different taste. It has Python based plugin, which supports plenty of APIs’ and has built in Python Console. Last but not the least its cross platform. Happy Coding.

Creating Subversion in Visual Studio using AnkhSVN and CodePlex

Ever wished your visual studio code to be accessible from everywhere? Or, perhaps wanted to share code within project member? Whatever your reason may be, if you want to host your code online for documentation or ease of access, there is handy tool available for you for free. Meet AnkhSVN. AnkhSVN is a free open source subversion plugin for Visual Studio. The new version 2.0 works with Visual Studio 2008, 2010, 2012. It is great for documenting your code, and can even be used to fund your project if you think its up to the task, kind of like Kick Starters. It connects through Codeplex to upload solution to the server. Here is a little tutorial on how to setup AnkhSVN 2.X in VB 2010.
