Oh my god dude I’ve been fixating on Neil Newbon (because I randomly got back into bg3) and why the fuck is his most popular content voice only, all his movies are from the early 2000s and are so hard to find they’re practically lost media, and what little modern content he does have is so short because why did I spend 20 minutes looking for a movie I thought he was in and found it it was a FUCKING KIA AD

“I still don’t understand the play.” “That doesn’t matter. Just keep telling the story.”
Asteroid City made next to no sense, and I loved it. It’s inspiring, in the sense that it makes you think “I should create something.” I wanted to write the entire time watching this, but most Wes Anderson films make you feel like that. He has a very distinct directing style.
I couldn’t tell you the plot of this movie, because every time I thought I had it, something happened to make me question it. First I thought grief, then romance, then sci-fi, then the entire fourth wall shattered. I like the way it made me pause every five seconds to make me ask what the hell was happening.
As for the casting choices, I’m surprised this movie isn’t more popular because of it. With Wes Anderson directing, there’s also Sophia Lillis, Steve Carell, Maya Hawke, William Dafoe, and Scarlett Johansson. I’m not that in to talking about the cast of stuff but there were too many big names not to mention it.
To summarise, if you want something with a satisfying colour palette, odd tone with a hint of comedy and several fourth wall breaks, go watching this movie. It’s fun, and if you’ve come down with a case of writers block, this will be your cure.
Edit: I feel like I should also throw in that there’s a funky little alien guy who looks like how you feel when you’re overstimulated and it talks about the meaning of life a lot. Have fun.

Please please please someone tell me other people have seen the movie Uncle Frank its so good. I'm watching it right now WHY the hell don't other people talk about it???? It made me feel so upset and crazy and so purely amazed about what being queer is like.
Frank's internalised homophobia coming out as a spew of hatred when he has the fight with his lover, that being a stem of the hatred and anger he feels at his father for outing him and showing him disgust even in death genuinely made me wonder why the fuck this movie is so underrated.
And don't even get me STARTED on the symbolism of Frank taking flowers from his father's gave to put them on the grave of his gay first lover.
And Beth?? Played by Sophia Lillis??? She's the whole reason I started the movie because I was looking for movies starring her, and I am so glad I did because she was amazing. I loved the transition of her becoming more confident and outgoing from moving to New York and spending more time with her Uncle. Her showing anger instead of being quiet and shy because that's the expectation of women around her in her time was SO satisfying.
Also the dad from Diary of a Wimpy Kid is in this if that's anything. And the costuming design is AMAZING and I'm trying so hard not to spoil the ending but just so you know it is satisfying as fuck. It is so beautifully ironic and gorgeous and it so easily could have ended in something heart breaking but it didn't and I'm so grateful the writers didn't decide to put out another depressing movie about being queer that ends sadly because we really don't need another one of those in the world. We need more happy queer movies.
Hope you enjoyed my rant/recommendation BUT GO WATCH THIS MOVIE ITS ON PRIME AND YOU CAN PROBABLY PIRATE IT SOMEWHERE IDK.

I made a Boris version of this but here’s a list of things Theo has done in the book to make me grimace.
-Had his hair matted so badly he had to cut it off.
-Obsessed over Pippa to the point he stole her dirty shirt and talked about how her sweat smells.
-Stole Pippa’s hair from the bin (very same paragraph as the shirt).
-Spent so much time in the pool and not bathing after his hair started going blonde in sections.
-Literally never addressed Boris using racial slurs.
(I’m not done with the book yet so both lists will probably be expanded soon.)

A summarised list of all the things Boris has done in the book to make me grimace.
He's an absolute menace compared to the movie.
Said the n word not once but TWICE
Unironically calls his girlfriend kitten
Goes commando (which is when you don't wear underwear under your pants)
Has gray teeth
Probably never baths other than swimming in the pool
Has veneers as an adult
Uses gang signs because he thinks its cool
Hit his girlfriend
Malnourished from all the junk he eats (yes he has access to proper food he just doesn’t give af)
Matted hair
Stinks to high heaven
Somehow an alcoholic and chronic smoker before age fifteen
Thank you for coming to my ted talk
