Really solid trans joke I'm always saying to my kid sisters is, "Listen, I get where you're coming from. I was a girl when I was your age..." Pisses them off so bad.
im going to [remembers suicide jokes are harmful for me and my mental health] explore my parents very strange machine (designed to view a world unseen)
Sorry for double posting but APPARENTLY those commission scammers have showed up on Tumblr at least for the first time for me.
For those who donāt know what I am talking about, there were/are commission scams going on in Instagram and even places like Artstation where people would pretend to be interested in your work and try to commission a pet or portrait for the sake of trying to get your bank details. Hereās how to (somewhat) sniff them out:
1- They donāt seem to be an average customer/ person that would be involved in your fandom, or has a blank template for an account or donāt even follow you.
2- They ask you to draw a portrait or a pet picture either for themselves or their children/family.
3- They promise to overpay you (in the hundreds) and do not listen to you even if you firmly state the price is cheaper.
4- They are constantly asking for your email name, or private details regarding things like banking details or passwords or other private information others should not know.
5- They try and over reassure you they mean no harm, try to guilt you into giving them the info, or become aggressive over you not giving them what they want.
What should you do if you come across one of these guys?
My best advice is to block and report. Sadly these people jump account to account so there isnāt really much to do other than spread this info to prevent artists from being scammed.
Here's a key part of the transfemme experience that is very overlooked: when you don't pass, people don't actually see you as a man, or treat you like a man.
To my knowledge,in the original script he had committed suicide. So it makes sense why he'd have his sole humanizing moment with a suicidal girl.
Beetlejuice beetlejuice retroactively just made him a less crappy person by introducing that nifty afterlife switcheroo that he didn't use. And making it just sympathy for a depressed girl as opposed to being a possibly self centered trauma bonding thing
just watched beetlejuice beetlejuice at the theaters, and can I just say, I loved it! it definitely didnāt disappoint and was a zany adventure, just like the first one.
and it kinda added layers to betelgeuse in a way. because spoilers I definitely thought they would go the same route for astrid and jeremy, the same way they did for lydia and betelgeuse in that what jeremy wanted was for astrid to marry him so that he could get out. instead it was a more sinister method, and it makes me wonder why betelgeuse never tried it. it canāt be because he doesnāt know about it, because heās the type of ghost to read the handbook backwards and forwards just so he can find every loophole to exploit. like my head keeps going in circles. especially for the first movie where lydia had initially wanted āinā while he wanted āoutā, the switcheroo method that jeremy tried with astrid wouldāve been perfect then. even in this movie where he already has experience of lydia backing out of their deal, he could have had lydia promise to exchange her soul for his. with how much she wanted to save astrid, Iām sure lydia would have agreed. instead, he just wanted to remarry her. itās interesting because it means betelgeuse, as putrid, crass, disgusting, and opportunistic as he is, actually seems like he has lines he wonāt cross.
