I think making Stella a complete one dimensional villain who abuses her husband doesn’t work for me because viv based the Goetia nobility off of hierarchies that were historically violently misogynistic. Even in the show, Stolas has the upper hand in their relationship and everything bad thing that the hierarchy has forced him into (arranged marriage, having to sleep with someone you don’t like to bring about an heir) is shit that Stella had to also go through and by virtue of her being a woman, she’s most likely been through worse. As far as we know, Stella doesn’t even have powers like he does. We just never see her side because the writers don’t care. It’s hard to sympathize with Stolas when he’s in such a privileged position but acts like that.
