Ruby's Rest

The Fire Festival celebrations have been wild all around the Brigade. One of the newest places the mercenaries and their kin could relax and celebrate is Ruby's Rest inn on the outskirts of Maple Valley in the southern parts of Westfall. Owned and ran by two satyr sisters, this place has seen quite an influx of customers during the Fire festival. The combination of strange decor and a wide selection of unusual brews, drinks and other ways to spend free time, has won over the curious travelers and tired mercenaries alike.

I have finished this piece very recently in preparation for the Midsummer/Fire Festival. Satyrs are among my favorite critters right now, who could resist those fluffy tails and cheeky attitude?

The Elder Anchorite

The Draenei population of the Brigade has been growing steadily over the past decade. This fact in itself contributes to the increasing number of Draenei recruits, but also to the attention of those who lead the various factions of the Draenei.

Elder Anchorite Anaari, Falmir and Xinaah have been dispatched from Shattrath to assess the situation and help those, who find themselves in need of guidance.

A veteran anchorite, strict and commanding , Anaari has taken this task very seriously, and intends to shepherd the flock to the best of her abilities.

I have finished this piece recently, in need of scratching that Draenei itch of mine. I hope you like how she turned out! Yet again, I have used a very limited number of brushes, finding this style of painting most rewarding.

The Deadeye

Captain D'Olle's pirate crew keeps growing. We've already seen cannoneers and engineers. Today the crew is getting a dedicated sniper. Meet Nikki. This worgen might not look threatening at all, in fact, most consider Nikki quite harmless at first sight. On the other hand, not many bad guys have the chance to even get the 'first sight'. Nikki rarely misses a shot!

I have finished this piece recently, craving return of the Charater presentation format from last year, I've decided to portray one of our newest pirate dogs in it. Did you know that Nikki wears 3 colors of ribbons in his hair? Red is for combat.. but who knows what's Blue and Pink for. Hmmm, any ideas?

The Dark Guardian

Not even thirty miles to the west of the coast of Westfall lies the mysterious island of Nevon. This ancient Nightborne stronghold has been shrouded by a curse of Darkness since the sundering and has turned into an eternal nightscape, just recently broken by moonlight, that finally managed to pierce the veil of the curse, thanks to the Brigade's intervention.Among the residents of the mysterious island are the Black Unicorns of Nevon. Sentient and immensely gifted in both mind and darkness magic, these formidable guardians have roamed the darkened glades and dealt with any invaders they deemed a threat to the eternal night of Nevon.

Black Narrak is one of those who, in the wake of the breaking of the Curse of Nevon, have ventured out into the world of Azeroth to experience more than what the island of darkness could offer. I have finished this piece recently and have done several versions of the final finish. An oil-painted version will follow shortly. I hope you like how it turned out! Do you like unicorns? I just love them .

The Tinkerer

Captain D'Olle's crew has been growing at a steady pace in the past few months. Apart from plenty of brawn, muscle and danger, D'Olle has managed to recruit a fair bit of unusual crewmembers for his band. One of them is definitely the self-proclaimed Captain Gilneas - Pvt. Stevie Rogers.

While remarkably scrawny and physically unimpressive for a Worgen, Rogers' strength lies in his cunning and mechanical aptitude. Able to construct various gadgets and deploy deadly contraptions and turrets, he's since become an integral part to D'Olle's crew.

I've finished this piece some time ago during my Pirate rage period. Stevie (yes, hello Steve Rogers ;) ) is one of my very own missfits and I'm proud of the little dog. I hope you enjoy how he turned out, stylish outfit and all! :D

Do you want to see more of D'Olle's pirate crew? I haven't touched pirates in a while, but I could be convinced to return.. with a vengeance.

Against the Firestorm

The people of Westfall have long suffered from the various incursions, plots and machinations of the shady, or outright evil and hostile factions. The emergence of The Brigade and its help to establish strong and stable People's Militia were the beginning.

First its subsequent transformation into a well equipped military unit, helped to stabilize the region greatly. A few of the officers in charge of policing the region have become well known to the common folk - among them Chantelle, who has earned the familiar nickname 'Stallion of Westfall'. Always charging head on towards any threat that might appear, his mighty hooves hammering the ground like the sound of an entire cavalry unit.

Naravesh

"An ancient being thought long dead, Naravesh Ere'thir considers his blood magic and fleshcrafting to be an art, one that few appreciate or understand. Bringing form to the formless, divinity to the profane, and beauty to the monstrous…these are all concerns of his. In retail World of Warcraft, he is a former san'layn blood prince, and he leads his own cult alone, but in the Brigade universe, he has joined the ranks of Cruor Sanguis, an equally horrific blood cult.

Both situations have allowed him leeway to practice his craft and to pursue his sometimes inscrutable goals. Ruthless, patient, cunning, and purposeful, Naravesh strives for perfection in all things. He is also the mind behind Simmy, a soulless simulacrum vessel. His greatest achievement, and his greatest failure wrapped into one, Simmy is the object of his intense vexation…but also fascination and obsession. Now, he waits for the opportunity to reclaim his wayward creation, meanwhile observing the unintended experiment that the life Simmy has created for herself has become. In time, she will know her true purpose and accept her destiny…or be bent to Naravesh's will. There are no alternatives. "

I had the pleasure to work on this piece for the wonderful @astralfox0893 . The character, mood and the color palette are definitely one of my favorite combinations (which many of you know by now ;P ).

The Frost Dog

Something of an odity in the Threefangs family, Luca has opted to follow a completely different path than his siblings and other relatives. Refusing the warrior training, his aspirations brought him to study the arcane arts. While the beginnings might have been rough, his dedication and drive to prove everyone wrong forged him into a formidable Frost mage.

His academic adventures helped him find a new path, and while he joins in on an odd mission here and there, his main purpose is to teach magic at the Brigade Academy.

I have finished this piece recently, playing with my fur brush (yes, one brush challenge in effect yet again ). I find painting fur so satisfying, so it's just natural that I focus on Worgen in the Brigade's roster of late.

Draconic Trickster

Tricky, mischievous but ultimately just playful. Such is Koristrasza. As a gifted shifter, Kori is able to assume several humanoid forms, and to confuse her friends and foes alike constantly changes features and appearance of those forms every now and then.

It's quite possible that once you meet Kori, you will not me the 'exactly same' Kori for quite a while! I have finished this piece last year and never had time to upload, such a shame! I really miss this format of character presentation, I should probably return to it and paint a couple more this year! I hope you like how it turned out.

Joaquim, the Spellbreaker

Dead serious and always ready for duty, Joaquim is one of the Brigade's very few Spellbreakers. An ancient elven tradition, these fighters are able to thwart almost any spellcaster in single combat. The most skilled mong them can silence an Archmage and create a field of disruption, that can thwart and dampen even the most potent incantations.

I have finished this piece very recently, playing with my pseudo-traditional style again. This time I have opted for b/w portraits (the last series had watercolor feel, not sure if you remember those!).

I honestly really enjoyed this style of clean drawing and shading, there is something very soothing about it and the result felt very satisfying. So much so, that I have decided to turn it into a series.

A most recent commission I have done for a private client. My first Protogen, so it took a while to get my bearings and gather the references. However, I have to say, that I have really enjoyed working on this cute, pastel colored critter, nearly as much as I do on my Worgen. Let's see if I get the chance to paint more of these.

Teatime with Mööpsö

The Dawngrasp residence is nowadays a home to one of the most important diplomatic rituals from the entire Brigade. The envoys of both the Alliance and the Horde meet there to discuss matters of grave importance, under the watchful eye of Tauren security.

Or.. it might just be a pair of toddlers having a tea with plushie by the name of Mööpsö. Or maybe it is both? Who knows, let's not disturb them. They have important Brigade matters to discuss!

I have painted this piece recently, following one of the cutest and most adorable and funny RP sessions I've had in my long RP career in the Brigade. Gathering references for this piece was quite a challenge and I have smiled from start to finish (which took considerable time :D ). Yet again, I have used one, maybe two brushes while working on this piece, adding to the challenge.

While we don't see any grand battle against dangerous monsters, I still hope you'll enjoy this piece, for I have really enjoyed creating it.

Now let's just leave, before Bloodguard Mööpsö notices us.
