Vickianne Caswell wrote her first book, “Freckles the Bunny Series, Book # 1: Freckles is Scared of School” in 2012. After a lot of research, she decided to publish the series herself. Vickianne has since published 12 books using the same printing/distribution companies. Vickianne has 2 children’s series’ out along with a cookbook series. She is expected to produce another children’s series in 2019 called, “The Adventures of Lynx.” Her children’s books are based on her real pets, with unique personalities, humour and a moral in every story.
After learning the ins and outs of publishing, Vickianne decided to help other authors out there who could not publish on their own and so she started 4 Paws Games and Publishing, a low-fee publishing company. When Vickianne has free time, she is either writing or playing a game. Her favourites include Dragon Age, Divinity series, Mass Effect series and The Sims 4. Her favourite shows are “Fairy Tale” and “Fruits Basket.”

Audra Balion is an interdisciplinary artist from Saskatoon with a BFA in Studio Art with Great Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan. She works in many art spaces including theatre and film design, comics, puppets, painting, sculpture, and wearable art. Balion has designed for the Saskatoon Opera, puppeteered for Wide Open, joined BAM’s Peephole art installation at Nuit Blanche, created props for the short film “The Tinwife,” and produced book covers for local authors. She also wrote, directed, designed, and choreographed the wordless, puppet-filled performance of “The Duet of the Mermaid and the Mime.”
Balion has won several awards at the Sask Fine Arts Showcase, and has twice won Best of Show Sculpture. One of these awards was for a piece in her series of small sculptures expressing mental illnesses and unfortunate emotions: The Hooligans. Her aim with The Hooligans is to make mental health a more accepted topic of conversation, as well as a less scary “monster” to battle. Monsters are now at the forefront of the artistic works she showcases.
Audra often combines theatre, visual art, and mysterious narratives in her work as seen in her current project “Flight Nineteen.” “Flight Nineteen” is a silent graphic novel that utilizes her theatre-derived knowledge of gesture and design to convey the story. It is set in a fantastical steampunk-like world, a favourite genre in her work, as well as fantasy, science fiction, myth, and surrealism.
To occasionally get out of the studio, Balion enjoys Ukrainian dance, taiko, and parasol duelling.

Time for a guest post :D

Brendan Hunter, the voice actor of a generation. If you've been watching anime since the early 2000's you've likely heard Brendan voicing shows and characters you've cared about. From an amazing start to his VO career on Dragon Ball GT as Uub/Oob, the reincarnation of Majin Buu, to being asked to voice Tien Shinhan for Dragon Ball in various incarnations, he's peppered all over that franchise in big and small roles.
Video games like Mobile Suit Gundam and then Elec Man on Mega Man Powered Up opened new offers for more foppish dandies and gave him long running roles on D.I.C.E., Vipers Creed, Digi Charat Nyo and of course as everyone's favourite sadistic clown, Hisoka on HUNTER X HUNTER. The eccentric Dr O, and many monsters on Cardfight! Vanguard, and more monsters and Jin Magatsu on Futurecard Buddyfight. Recently on Ladies Vs Butlers, and on Nickelodeon and for Ninteno as Devin Aeron for LBX. You've also seen and heard him in loads of other video games, TV and films, even the lastest seasons of Wynonna Earp and Damnation.
He also teaches voice acting in studios with the very popular "So you wanna be a voice actor?" classes.

Calling all teachers, youth coordinators, daycares, and pretty much anyone who works at a facility with children or young adults!
A ton of youngsters love japanese culture, cosplay, comic books and more, help them learn about Ganbatte so they can make some like minded friends!
All you have to do is go to our get involved page and print out a poster to hang at your work:
Ganbatte means “do your best” in Japanese and while we volunteers do our best hanging posters sometimes we could use a hand getting a bit more marketing out to new attendees. All tickets sold for Ganbatte go right back into making the convention better for the community each year so all the volunteers and attendees really appreciate it!

Need more reach on your photography page? Not enough subscribers on youtube? Working hard on that blog but just can’t get more follows?
A great way to gain new supporters is to do media coverage on conventions! Ganbatte offers a media pass to anyone who is willing to take photos/videos/write about the awesome attendees/volunteers at Ganbatte. This is a fantastic way to meet new people and gain great new admirers on social media. Cosplayers work hard on their outfits, panelists work hard on their presentations, and many other people work hard at their craft. They would love anyone whoever incorporated their hard work into their passion as well.
Media pass has the same privileges as a VIP pass but in some cases we can swing interviews in with guests! Application closes June 30th, apply early to get a one of our media passes!

With only about 80 days left till the convention, the team here at Ganbatte are becoming eager to see all of your cosplays!
If you haven’t finished putting your cosplay together just yet, we hope this next guest announcement gives you some inspiration.
Meggii is both a cosplayer and artist, based out of Regina. She specializes in kawaii-cute characters ranging across a large spectrum of video games, comics, anime, and all other forms of media.
Relatively new to the cosplay world, she has already made a name for herself and draws attention at any convention she attends. Having only been professionally cosplaying for just under 2 years, she has gained a strong following on her social media due to her character accuracy, years of wig styling and costume making experience, as well as her quirky personality.
