How it feels to make Garroth transfem

I adore mystreet Garroth with all my heart and I could write a 20 page essay on his potential and implied depth but I 100% agree that dialogue should absolutely be flipped.

And while we're at it, I think any other time mystreet Garroth is bold while inlove should be written out aswell. He shouldn't be flirty, especially since Dante, Travis, Laurance and him end up so similar because of it.

By mystreet Garroth has potential I don't mean I think he should act like mcd Garroth or anything. I think Garroth being so different in each universe is very interesting and shows how he tends to really 'get into a role' if that makes any sense (though I understand not everyone agrees with this notion).

I think the way mcd Garroth hides his emotions and runs away from his problems is somewhat implied to be translated into mystreet Garroth by him hiding his deeper turmoil under a smile and run away in a much more mental way rather then a literal sense.

And the way mcd Garroth's attempts at stoicness slip when he is near Aphmau and stutters and stumbles, the same should go for mystreet Garroth. Except later on, he gets over his crush, but it could and should come back when he gets another love interest?? I think.

And ofcourse he is very different in pdh to mys, but for that just copy paste royal tale Garroth into pdh idk.

Mys Laurance suffers a lot from the changes in his character tbh. While I do think mcd Laurance is to an extend putting up a front, I think mystreet's depiction of Laurance is very boring and lackluster and failed with inconsistencies and unearned changes.

need to rant for a minute here. i rewatched an episode of phoenix drop high awhile ago and i keep thinking about this one scene where garroth asks aphmau if she wants a boyfriend, laurance comments that it’s a blunt question, and garroth says “well at least i’m not afraid to ask blunt questions.”

like. JESSICA. how do you mischaracterize your own characters that badly?? garroth was always the more reserved one, while laurance was always more outwardly flirtatious and bold. that interaction should 100% be flipped; it should be garroth telling laurance that he’s being blunt and laurance telling garroth that “at least i’m not afraid to ask blunt questions,” not the other way around!!

it just drives me crazy because, after rewatching mcd recently, i’ve realized how much garroth and laurance were changed and watered down when they were adapted from mcd to mystreet/pdh. i feel that they had much more distinct personalities in in mcd while in mystreet and pdh, they almost seem like the same character in different fonts?? tbh, i think a large part of it was done to make room for aaron to be front and center instead, but that’s a whole other tangent.

bring back interesting and multifaceted garroth and laurance 2k25 PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

I think Laurance would look at the wheat field and think of Garroth cause it's the same color as his hair

I think it needs to become common knowledge that "inability to read social cues" can show up as overcompensating.

You don't know how much misbehaviour is allowed, so you become the perfect child who never tests rules.

You don't know if someone is irritated with you, so you'll be extra generous and self-effacing.

You don't know how much is expected of you at work so you'll kill yourself in a minimum-wage job and not notice that nobody else is working like this.

"Hardworking and quiet" should be as much of an autism red flag as "ignores rules and doesn't know when to stop talking". Or why don't we just start using words to communicate so i can stop tracking everybody's eyebrow twitches, that would be great.

Aphmau:

- patient 0 (allegedly)

- brain weirdly functional

- (still hungry for flesh)

Garroth:

- son of the guy(big CEO) who invested in the people who started the apocalypse(his ex team)

- previously isolated himself in a bunker

Laurance:

- immune? Or body infection works slower than usual

- anyhow, he's bitten(he gets bitten relatively early on)

All three are oblivious to each other's secrets(for now).
