[9:43 pm] haseul had been sitting in front of her desk for 7 hours at this point. a neck pillow clung onto her neck and her bottom had begun to hurt from the uncomfortable chair. you placed a cup of water next to her books. “maybe you should rest for the night,” you said while standing by her right shoulder. she picked up the glass of water and chugged it down; afterwards, she shook her head. “i need this done now.” she was stubborn and a workaholic—if she didn’t have you around she’d probably be constantly passing out of exhaustion. haseul’s laptop flashed its final pop up and turned off. she let out a sigh, “i don’t remember where i left my laptop charger.” she slumped deeper into the chair but you quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her up. haseul’s body lightly bumped against yours. “we can look for it in the morning, okay? let’s get some rest for now,” you kiss the top of her head. reluctantly, she shuffled away from her desk area and towards your bed.

[2:14 PM] the sun is shining and breeze passes by the blooming spring flowers. you and jinsoul walk down the empty streets of Germany, your fingers interlocking. you come across a street piano and encourage her to play something, or anything really. “hmm?” jinsoul responds, her eyebrows jumping. “ah, you want me to play? well...” she nervously touches her neck, her body showing clear signs of embarrassment. you both sit down on the worn out bench—shoulders bumping into one another as you scoot closer. her head doesn't move, but her eyes drift to the side to glance at you. “if i’m being honest...” her hands hesitantly hover over the piano keys. “i’ve been working on something for you, but it’s not finished.” not letting the conversation advance, her fingers dance along the keys sometimes bumping against the wrong ones. jinsoul’s face begins to sparkle with pink blobs spreading along the apple of her cheeks and the curl of her ear.

summary: Sooyoung breaks up with Jiwoo, leaving her feeling empty and with conflicting feelings. In her attempts to cope, Jiwoo uses her best friend  — the reader  — to fake date in hopes that Sooyoung will get jealous.
March 14, somewhere near midnight
“People only know they’ve lost something forever once it no longer belongs to them. She wants a temporary break, but maybe this is a sign,” the small girl says, beaming with energy.
You furrowed your brows together, creases deepening on your forehead. You're usually never awake this late and it’s obvious.
“So, what exactly is your plan?”
You sounded frustrated and tired, which you were, and although you bit your tongue to repress the arising emotions of lack of sleep, they shined through your weak façade. Jiwoo ignored your unenthusiastic tone, as she put in much more effort into her façade. Although it seemed like she was energetic and full of life, she held back the raging anger that boiled through her veins, not to mention how badly she wished she could let out a tsunami of tears.
Jiwoo was a well beloved woman, you could say she was a woman of the world. However, no one seemed to catch her eye and pull at her heartstrings like Sooyoung. She’d managed to capture Jiwoo’s heart and haunt her every living second. Behind all the loving and sweet memories they both shared, Jiwoo carried the burden of hesitation. Being new to love, she was unsure of all her feelings; not to mention that they were feelings for another woman. The line between love and obsession was blurred — actually nonexistent — for Jiwoo. With these new emotions and her first experience of heartbreak, she was unsure of how to deal with it.
“The only way to make her realize she’s made a grave mistake is by making her jealous. What better way to do that then by moving on quickly AND looking good while doing it,” she replies, dramatically moving around her hands.
“Well, Tinder is always a good s-”
“A dating app? Who do you think I am?! I want you to be my fake partner. You always hang out with me anyway.”
Silence.
The offer was so sudden it had caught you off guard. Part of you thought she was joking, but it was late at night and… honestly? Anything was possible at this point. Jiwoo took both of your hands in between her own and looked you straight into your eyes. The color in her skin was back and she didn’t seem as drained as she did hours prior.
“It’ll only be for a while and…” her eyes drifted off to the side for a moment. “I’ll pay for all of our fake dates,” she said, making eye contact once more, only this time she gave a warm smile. Damn is she convincing.
“We have to go on fake dates too?”
“Oh stop whining, this will only work if we make it convincing”
She drops your hands and walks away, heading towards your bedroom window. You’d never notice how pretty Jiwoo’s back profile is. You fall back onto your bed and cover your now flushed face.
She hears the thump and without looking back she sighs, letting out a small “you’re so dramatic.”
You reach for your phone, looking at the time. Holy shit is it late. You sit up, looking towards Jiwoo’s direction. She’s still gazing out the window, but there’s not much to see. The moon is barely visible and you’d be lucky to catch a glimpse of stars considering the street lights are beaming and the air pollution levels have been higher in recent days.
“You know… you’re much more beautiful than any mysterious thing out in space”
Jiwoo’s head perks up and she does a swift 180. She looks vulnerable again. You’re nonchalant and try to play it off.
“Just practicing…” You say softly. “I should call a taxi for you,” You continued, looking down at your phone.
While you were distracted, Jiwoo’s mouth parted ever so slightly as if wanting to say something but not knowing if she should. Jiwoo reflected on her relationship once more, the compliment bringing back memories. Sooyoung had always called Jiwoo her star.
“You shine brighter than all the stars in the sky combined, and even when we’re apart I feel comfort knowing we live under the same moon”
But like every star, it’s bound to explode someday.
“You know when you look at the moon while in a moving car and it’s like it’s following you?” Sooyoung asked the small girl as they star-gazed.
She giggled and nodded. Sooyoung laid sideways, propping herself up with her arm to stare at Jiwoo and said, “the moon is only following you to protect you while I’m not there.”
They both bursted into laughter. “You’re so cheesy, what’s gotten into you” Jiwoo questioned in a lighthearted manner.
“Jiwoo?” You slowly walked towards the girl, who suddenly had tears running down her face.
She quickly wiped them off before saying, “I’ll wait for the taxi outside.” Jiwoo hurried out of your apartment leaving you clueless and worried.

summary: Sooyoung breaks up with Jiwoo, leaving her feeling empty and with conflicting feelings. In her attempts to cope, Jiwoo uses her best friend  — the reader  — to fake date in hopes that Sooyoung will get jealous.
After spending the night with you, Jiwoo sat alone in her apartment. The sun was rising, but she wouldn’t have known that because she made sure to close all the blinds and untied the curtains. She grabbed any record from her small collection and took it out of it’s pocket, taking a moment to admire the vinyl. As it played, the record let out a soft and slow melody, music that let Jiwoo’s thoughts wander.
She plopped onto her bed and sighed. Who even breaks up on white day? She felt as if her brain was running a mile, too many emotions and thoughts to process and no time for any breaks. There was a lump in her throat, but she didn’t want to cry. Although no one was around, she didn’t want to be vulnerable. Crying would mean that she felt hurt, that Sooyoung had wounded her badly enough to inflict pain; after seeing the stoic expression plastered onto Sooyoung’s face as she left Jiwoo out to bleed was enough to make Jiwoo realized that she never cared at all. And yet... she wanted to make her care.
“Maybe we need a break... It feels as if you’re getting a bit carried away. I like you and all, but maybe space is needed for us. I just don’t think I’m ready for that serious commitment yet. Be patient, will you?”
Jiwoo felt that wave of anxiousness again. Her hands got sweaty and it was if she couldn’t breathe properly, like she could only inhale air and never release it. Back in your apartment, she seemed like she got a hold of herself, but she could only bluff for so long. Jiwoo ended up in front of your doorstep and yet... she didn’t want to feel like a burden.
After tons of overthinking, her eyes began to burn. Her lids became heavy and her nose started to tingly. Through the pain, Jiwoo managed to be knocked out.
11:13 AM There was a ringing coming from Jiwoo’s buzzer. You stood by the front desk, your eyes roaming around the lobby. You never visited Jiwoo frequently as you both had a large distance in between you both, but every time you came to her apartment complex you always ogled the architecture. You awkwardly held, with both hands, the cardboard handle of the coffee holder. If anyone walked by, it would be obvious that you weren’t of the area, even with your added effort to dress formally casual; you stuck out like a sore thumb. At some point, Jiwoo finally answered the buzzer and told the front desk employee to let you in.
As you stood in the grey, metal elevator leading you up to Jiwoo’s apartment, you began to feel nervous. You looked over to the left, seeing your reflection on the shiny wall of the elevator. A lock of hair fell over your face, and for a second something seemed wrong different, it wasn’t the hair, but more so you. You pushed the lock of hair behind your ear and began to question why you were there. Well, you - consciously - knew why, but what if there was more to it? You shook your head lightly, looking away from your reflection. I should never let her keep me up all night again, now I can’t think straight.
“People only know they’ve forever lost something once it no longer belongs to them. She wants a temporary break, but maybe this is a sign!”
You smiled to yourself, air being pushed out of your nostrils in the process. One moment Jiwoo was head over heels with Sooyoung, the next she wanted to avenge her broken heart. Your smile dropped as you exited the elevator; maybe this plan was unwarranted. She didn’t even explain the break up to me properly. Who am I kidding? She’s probably regretting this plan already; it was an impulsive thing, right?

[7:21] wheein smiling brightly, her dimples showing, as you hand her a cup of coffee before work. “how is it,” you ask. “sweet” she replies, her cheeks flushing. she’s not referring to the coffee, but more-so the way you spend every morning together. you both giggle and make lighthearted chit-chat before departing for the day.

request: “could you please write a chuu x female reader where they have to fake date bc chuu wants to get yves attention but ends up falling in love with the reader”
It was the beginning of spring. March 14, white day. The concrete pavement was damp, as it had been raining before the city awoke. You walked alongside your friend, Jiwoo, and soaked in all the noises surrounding you, almost like a sponge. The chirping birds, Jiwoo’s heels clicking on the pavement, her voice as she rambled, the footsteps of strangers passing by, the way your friend exaggeratedly sighed - almost as if she was in love. She claims she is.
“Do you think she’ll give me anything?”
“Huh?”
Silence. It all snapped you back into reality. You looked over at your friend; she pouted while crossing her arms. “I said…” She began. Her lips parted a bit, almost as if she wanted to keep talking. But she never did. Seeing the sadness in her puppy eyes, it was like a punch in the gut. You plastered on a smile. “I think she will. You said it was going well, right?” You replied. You weren’t quite sure what she had been rambling about, but you assumed it was about Sooyoung. She’s been the only thing Jiwoo has wanted to talk about recently. Ahh… Sooyoung! Sooyoung this, Sooyoung that. As much as you loved Jiwoo, you wished she would shut up sometimes.
And so, she rambled on about how good Sooyoung was to her, how they had their little moments of outbursts, but who doesn’t? As much as you wished that she would have a regular conversation with you, you enjoyed seeing Jiwoo’s eyes light up. Her bright smile and the way she giggled made you feel some type of way. This is happiness, isn’t it? Jiwoo was your closest friend, and probably the only person you truly trusted. Something about her felt different, everything felt right around her… it felt like… home?
It had been hours since your little walk with Jiwoo. You remember her saying, “I’m going to see her later today. I promise I’ll tell you all about it.” You just nodded in return. Now it was late; the sun was down and you were kicking it back with some mashed potatoes and some random late night show. You started to doze off mid episode, your hair slowly falling in front of your face as your head went down from tiredness. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. You were half asleep. Assuming it was for your downstairs neighbor, you continued to get some shut eye. A few minutes pass and your phone rings. Your eyes dart open, as if being awoken from a nightmare. Your brain feels foggy, but you realize your phone is still ringing, and so you reach over to find out who it is. Kim Jiwoo.
You quickly answer the call and before you can even greet her she softly says, “Can you open the door? I’m kinda cold…” Her voice sounds shaky, as if it’s bound to crack any moment. You hang up and bounce to the front door, almost tripping down the stairs. You open the door and there she is. Kim Jiwoo, looking like a puppy that's just been kicked. She holds her hands close to her chest and her eyes drift off. “Come in,” You say to her softly, moving your hand to a ‘come-in-motion.’
Jiwoo sits down on your bed. Your apartment was small, it was basically a bedroom and a kitchen combined, with a bathroom off to the side. You wrap a blanket around Jiwoo and you both hold eye contact for a while. Her eyes are red and puffy, however, it looks like the rest of her face has been drained of color. You watch her eyes tremble as you ask, “What happened? I thought you were gonna be with-” You’re cut off by Jiwoo lightly pressing her fingertips against your lips. Jiwoo raises her eyebrow in surprise, almost as if she touched you subconsciously. She jumps a bit when you reach for her wrist, moving her hand away from your face. The silence is heavy and the atmosphere is suffocating.
She’s gone back to her vulnerable state. Her eyes bouncing from wall to wall, focusing on anything except you. She knew if she told you what happened then that would mean accepting the events that had occurred beforehand. But finally, she spoke.
“She broke up with me, I think? My heart was beating so fast I couldn’t process everything…”
Her eyes trembled, slowly filling up with tears. You could see her try to stabilize her breath, but it was as if she had a lump at her throat that didn’t allow her to inhale properly. You both slowly pulled each other into an embrace. The moment felt straight out of a movie for both of you. Having your friend so close to you felt comforting. Having your friend wanting, no, needing you to hold her felt comforting. The desire to be needed consumed you. However, her tears soon began to drown your thoughts.
You two spent the night together. You listened to her the entire night. One minute she’d be ranting about Sooyoung, the next she’d be sobbing — she was a mess. None of that mattered to you; you just wanted to be by her side.
Jiwoo had stopped rambling and walked into the bathroom, closing the door behind her. Now you’ve been mindlessly scrolling through your socials, but it was so late at night that not many people were online. You could hear soft mumbling come from your bathroom. The mumbling becoming footsteps and mumbling; your ears perked up, trying to pick up on the words Jiwoo was saying. Alas, you couldn’t. Suddenly, the door is slammed open, startling you a bit.
Jiwoo walks out of the bathroom, her right hand in a fist slamming down on the palm of her left hand. Her face seemed relaxed, but something about it gave you the feeling that there was mischief to arise. She stops in front of you, her posture and aura radiating in confidence.
“I have a plan to get back at Sooyoung.”

Rosy Illusion
fandom: loona
pairing: Olivia Hye x Reader
word count: 794
summary: Your new relationship with Son Hyejoo had a rocky beginning. Although you didn’t mind going slow, sometimes being a distant girlfriend will make you more like strangers than friends.
The sun was setting, making the sky a gradient of blues, reds, and purples. Hyejoo subtly brushed her hand against yours, hoping you’d get a clue. She was too shy to make a move and liked you for your dominance and leader-like energy. Sometimes Hyejoo would tap your hand with her pinky, but that’s as far as she would go. Her shyness and baby-like-actions made your heart twirl and combust. You always gave in because if baby Hyejoo wants something, then she’ll get it.
You take her small hand in yours and intertwine your fingers. Your hands fit perfectly together, almost as if the universe had you to made for each other. You never were one to believe in fate and destiny—times like these made you believe that maybe life can be a fairytale. Maybe things are perfect. But time can wilt faster than a flower does.
Hyejoo sighs. You glance at her as she stares as her cellphone. She squeezes your hand and then drops it. “Are you okay?” You ask, giving a head tilt. Hyejoo gives you a soft smile that gives you butterflies in your stomach. However, her cute smile fades away quickly. “My family wants me to go back to the cafe again. They’re in need of an extra hand,” She says without making eye contact.
“I’ll walk you there.”
She shakes your head. “Head home I wouldn’t want to bother you.” Hyejoo starts fumbling with her fingers. She’s nervous, maybe upset at the fact that her schedule is always so cramped and she never has time for you. In the 2 months you’ve been dating you’ve spent less than 3 days together per week. You both liked each other very much, but the relationship wasn’t progressing much. And maybe it’s good to take things slow — is there such a thing as taking this too slow?
You unlocked your front door and were greeted by a dark and cold apartment. You walked in, taking your coat off and placing it on the coat rack. Drowsiness took over your body as you made way to your bedroom, not forgetting to shuffle your feet. You plopped on the bed loudly groaning. Both of annoyance and tiredness. The voices of the couple upstairs could be heard. They were arguing again, suddenly you could hear soft crying. The moment just made you feel more sad than before. You felt like getting some cookies and treating yourself to a pity party.
Hyejoo... Are you really the one for me? Do you feel the same? Or is this all in my head? Your heart was racing, and it was in pain. You didn’t want to get hurt by some sweet girl that wouldn’t hurt a fly, but you were in too deep. Maybe you were in love with Hyejoo, or maybe you were just in love with the idea of being with someone.
Suddenly your cell phone began to ring. You glanced at it, being too tired to pick it up. It was Hyejoo. You perked up, your eyes sparkling. You hit the green button your screen and placed the phone next to your ear. “Hyejoo! I’m so glad you called-” You started. “I don’t have much time...,” She started, cutting you off. “Just let me talk, please?”
You nodded, not realizing she couldn’t see you. As you plopped back down into your bed you heard a tired sigh. “I’m sorry... For not being there and stuff. If I knew that my life would suddenly become so busy, I don’t think I would’ve committed to this relationship. I... I’m sorry.”
You bit your lip, trying to hold back the overwhelming emotions that were suffocating you. There was a long moment of deafening silence — the only thing that could be heard was Hyejoo’s breathing and the background noises of her parents cafe. “But, uh, we have new staff here! So I think my shifts will be covered most of the time. You and I will be able to talk more. Unless... you don’t want to?”
Even though you were being told good news you strangely felt empty. What’s wrong with me? Maybe this whole relationship was in a dead end. Maybe it’s not worth the fight.
“Hyejoo...”
“I know, I know, things haven’t been ideal. But I’m putting in the effort, will you?”
You sighed trying your best to not be pessimistic. “Okay, I’m excited to spend more time with you! Does Thursday night sound nice?” You replied, feeling a rush go through your veins. Was it just you or did the lonely apartment suddenly become warm and bright?
“Yes! I... I mean yeah, sure, totally. Before I go,” She paused.
“I love you.”
The line suddenly cut off. She didn’t even let me say it back!!

Love Letters
fandom: loona
pairing: Chuuves
word count: 454
summary: Penpals/lovers send each other letters often and they talk about what they did and things they've collected. They sometimes send each other polaroids to fill in the gap of not seeing each other everyday.
Ha Sooyoung gathered all the things she bought to send to Jiwoo. She had been talking and flirting with a uni student named Kim Jiwoo for almost 7 months now. Sooyoung was finally getting the courage to ask her out. Although they were both in Korea, they were either too busy or saving up money for something else to visit each other.
Sooyoung wrote the letter neatly and added some small hearts around the letter. Her hand glided on the paper as she poured out her feelings. If you payed close attention you would see her softly smiling as she wrote, and you'd see her cheeks turn a light pink. She folded the letter neatly and inserted it into the envelope. She took out some cute penguin stickers, they reminded her of Jiwoo — they were just so cute... Kinda like Jiwoo! She took out a small post-it-note, she doodled a small penguin and a swan together.
Then she took out a cute postcard she found in a store the other day. It was a photo of Daegu from the overlook of Apsan Park. Maybe a postcard would encourage Jiwoo to come visit her. Sooyoung had also gotten some magnets and pins of Daegu earlier that week. She placed them inside the envelope and closed it.
Sooyoung took a deep breath. She stayed seated for a bit and stared at the envelope. Suddenly, doubt overwhelmed her. What if Jiwoo rejected Sooyoung? Would she risk their friendship for a crush? But then again... What if Jiwoo reciprocated those feelings? Her brain was scattered and her tender heart started to bleed.
Sooyoung had found the small girl's social media a while back, she always checked up on her. Lately it's seemed as if Jiwoo already had her heart set on someone. She wasn't sure who that someone was, but on her social medias she would always gush about her crush. It was weird for Sooyoung, because Jiwoo never mentioned anybody to her.
The tall girl stood at the mailbox. Every time Sooyoung exhaled a smoke-like-vapor came out of her. She looked down at the letter she was holding in her hands, hesitating. Her own silent thoughts blocking out the noise coming from all the passing cars. Her hands were slowly drying up and becoming freezing cold. The thought of Jiwoo holding them warmed her heart. She took a deep breath, hesitating a bit. Sooyoung bit her lip. People in the cars passing by stared at her, since little to no movement was seen from her. She closed her eyes for a few seconds then she made up her mind. Sooyoung placed the letter in the mailbox and walked away filled with fear and excitement.
