Based on a true story. I ask myself why do I continue to swim with them? I just swim with them. I swim with them cause I want to get to know them and allow them to get to know me, because if I am not here with them I may not exist to them and they to me. I swim with them cause we are put in this world to be to gather and to deal with each other…in short, I have no choice. I swim with them cause we are all dirty at times and we need to get our body and mind clean up. I swim with them cause I love how we look together, how we keep each other afloat. I swim with them cause I love the fact that this pool is for everyone and I refuse to judge people on this challenging but enjoyable journey called life. I swim with them cause I hope that one day my life as a Black man will be truly be considered and my story understood to all…that my life will really matter to all including to my fellow Black folks.
