"You can't keep her away from me! She's my daughter!" "Mr. Gavin, please. My client-" "She's my daughter!" The brunette turned around, letting herself be escorted out of the courts hallway. His fist connected with the wall beside him.

“Yeah but when you find it you can be 80% sure it’s the right one... There are a million cats and racoons in this city,” Klaus frowned coming to a halt next to her. “Hey, I’d like to apologise, for...this,” he waved his hand, trying to capture everything around them. “We didn’t think there was going to happen anything the second you guys arrive...”

MAEVE WASN’T THE SAVE THE WORLD TYPE . while she didn’t care for this new disease permeating throughout new york , she didn’t exactly ask to be roped into it all . it was too much responsibility . failure wasn’t an option . thinking it through left maeve sitting in silence , a cigarette resting between two fingers , dreading every single part of the whole mission . there’s annoyance spread on her visage , her furrowed brow showing that inside she’s fighting herself . while she wants to be good enough to head out & save some people , she’s not sure she can . although that almost too big bleeding heart prevents her from backing out . now she just sighs , taking notice that there was someone near her . instead of letting out every ounce of frustration , she turns to look up at them , blowing smoke from her lips . ‘ do you understand how hard it is to find a monkey ? they can easily outsmart us . ’

Save the world. At the time Felicity had assumed it was a ruse to get her to join them. She had of course; what else would she do with her time? But now she was faced with the very real possibility of trouble. She didn’t think she was really cut out for the hero business, her hands were already stained with too much blood.
For days she had been unable to sleep, exhaustion clear on her face. It made her control slip, eyes fading from black to blue and back again. She wondered if it was just another ruse by the thing inside of her. Make her tired so she couldn’t keep it at bay.
Blinking she looked up at the small group, trying to focus back on the task at hand.
This isnt me
The voice whispered but Fee didn’t trust it. She blinked, “What were you saying?” it was something about animals she knew that much but her concentration was slipping, her head nodding slightly. With a sudden jolt, she sat upright, hands gripping the arm of the sofa. “Wait what did you say about raccoons because I saw a shady one the other day and the fucker bit me.”
“They said that raccoons are among the infected animals that escaped. Monkeys, cats, raccoons, and rabbits I think?” Klaus tried to recall, but his concentration had been lousy to begin with.
“Oh that must have been Ferrero, he’s a bit crazy,” he mused, trying to wave it off. Surely none of them were going to get into contact with this crazy virus.
“When did you say it bit you..?”

“Hey I would like to do nothing more than do exactly what you’ve just said, but there was a vote and I guess everyone is feeling really heroic this week, so.. come on let’s go, let’s go,” Klaus tried to usher Jax out of the mansion.

“ the problem is out there … so of course that’s where you want to go. “ with his arms crossed tightly across his chest, jax is unmistakably UNCOOPERATIVE. “ i say we barricade the doors and hide out in the basement of the academy. let the people figure their own shit out. if they don’t have enough sense to run and hide somewhere ? well, it sounds like natural selection at its finest. “

ohthehorrorhargreeves:
The television was on, the small screen in the sitting room highlighting the latest destruction the animals caused. A reporter spoke in monotone about the death count rising and Ben groaned, the grip around his wine glass tightening to a point where a small crack formed in the spot his thumb pressed against.
He slammed his glass against the end table and ignored the wine that spilled out of it. Ben crossed the room in seconds flat, stepping up to turn the television off and relishing in the brief silence that followed after.
“Sorry,” He sighed once he turned back toward where he had been sitting. “I couldn’t listen to that shit anymore and not do anything about it.”
“Woah...careful. That was some of the good stuff too,” Klaus frowned tiredly at the shattered glass and red stain on the rug.
Watching Ben sat back down next to him, Klaus rested his head on his brothers’ shoulder, trying to get more comfortable. God he was tired.
“You know, just because the TV is off and you’ve spilled that beautiful glass of wine, doesn’t mean it’s all just stopping out there? The city is still going down... Oh wait. Maybe that’s the apocalypse? Well congrats us, we didn’t safe anyone on the second run either. I gotta say, God is a lot more creative this time around,” he chuckled.

veritythomas:
The first call was to the hospital, the police left accompanying the fire department to get an idea of what was going on and to interview families. Verity could have sworn she saw everything given her childhood and having been raised around the police department but that did little in preparing her for needing to speak to families about whatever put their loved one in a comatose state and eventually lead to death.
It hurt her chest just thinking about it. Acknowledging that feeling, however, was unthinkable since she needed to be strong and show the police force wasn’t worried about it. She was in the habit of nervously playing with her police badge now that she was entrusted with taking to the streets to keep an eye on things. They had yet to find the animals that were causing the issue and that left her on edge. Her teeth dug into her lower lip as she rounded an alleyway and she nearly collided with someone, looking up in alarm as she stammered out a warning.
“You should be indoors,” She grimaced. “They’re calling that the safest option at the moment.”
“Ah, yes, yes, I know, but you see I was told they’re going to need all the help they can get,” Klaus began, doing air quotes with his hands around the word ‘they’, “So I was sent out to look for a racoon... It’s not in that dumpster over there. -What are you doing out here though?” he frowned, trying hard to ignore the itching of his skin.
