I never posted the pocket I made, and I've been wearing it for over a year now! Poor thing has seen a couple thousand hours of work already.
The process and the worn piece. It's starting to show some wear and frayed spots, but I'll patch it up.

Made more cards!!
A mooon card with a banner trailing behind. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, though the cow is supposed to easily rotate around the moon, but the mechanics are a bit clunky. But! I'm very happy with the moon itself. After looking at beautiful references and being in an exhibit on the moon for 7 months , I got pretty familiar. 2/22
A card for a lovely tea party! I've never drawn a frog before, but 8.5 /10 overall good experience would draw again. The gold accents we a lot of fun! 4/22

Took me about 5 months to complete and I see problems with it everywhere... but I am wonderfully happy with how it turned out!
Look! It even glows!
______
I began this project over a year ago, and I completed it near the end of December 2020. It has a terribly complex importance to me, but is still one of my most prized pieces I've given... for the workmanship I put into it and the person I gave it to. I hope you are doing well today.

I made a Blood Bowl birthday card!! It came together pretty quick after a couple days of musing about it and I'm really happy with how it looks! The design and layout needs a bit of work though. It requires some special maneuvering to have it stand up without being put on a fridge. Alas, I'm still stoked about it!!

Back last Christmas I made a card for a friend! I found some nice Clipart for the tree, but the rest of the design and layering is mine. And definitely the hand cutouts and painting. It was a pain to work with that tracing paper because I didn't expect it to wrinkle so much with the glue. However, with that understanding, I definitely would use it again in the future.
I designed it to have a tea light behind it, but forgot to hand it off with the cookies. 😅 Ahh well, it did kinda make it look like the tree was on fire.
I am queuing these waaay in advance. So, it'll be a nice surprise to see this come the summer.

Gonna start a new wand! Amongst other projects too... what a surprise more wips! Whodda guessed??
Ahh well, step by step. Plan by plan.
The goal for this wand is a triple helix. The handle will be a solid spiral and it will open up to a full helix and it'll probably close back together at the tip. Should be fun... plus this time I have the help of a dremel!
More to come!

I made a cake for a friend's birthday back when the temps were cooler. Which is probably for the best with the ganache frosting n all. He helped with the decision process.
A chocolate cake with ganache frosting. I asked what his favorite fruit was for a filling and he said banana. So we have a banana filling and toasted walnuts. And some yummy candied walnuts on top.
To keep with the theme of this blog, he has also provided a wonderfully #aesthetic picture of a slice.
Cake sponge- Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge box mix
Ganache Frosting- Alton Brown via FoodNetwork
Banana Filling- Mama Gourmand
Candied Walnuts- Natasha's Kitchen
It was a lot of fun and work, but I'm super happy with how it turned out. Especially with it being my first solo (98%) cake and decoration!!

A dremel is most definitely going on my craft tool list... maybe I could borrow one for the time being... I'd have to get a respirator too... or maybe just layer my masks 😅
I have far too many foam projects I want to do and to make look polished for me to keep avoiding tutorials' suggestions.

I made Loukoumathes, and I am absolutely delighted in how they turned out. ^_^
I've have fried plenty of dough (malasadas) in the past, but I thought I'd be out of practice on making sure these cooked up right. And I was worried about the honey syrup... But no. A sweet delight and a dash of cinnamon :3
My bubble won't be popped. Even if the pics aren't the best.

We're getting somewhere!!
The start of a box, lined with dark blue/grey velvet.
I stained the wand today after some strong sanding. I probably should have sanded longer, but I'm getting impatient. I've never stained anything before, so this is a test run too!
Carving a Wand!
Soo I’m carving a wand with absolutely zero experience and some of the shittiest tools I could have gotten. I bought some 7/16in x 12in dowels and a wood carving set from Michael’s and I looked up a couple YouTube videos and jumped into the fray. Thankfully I’ve only snapped it twice and wood glue blends real nice. XD
I’m planning on finishing it with a darker stain, gold accents, and a final clear coat.
Here’s one of the YouTube videos I got some help from.
