Amethyst Spirit Quartz (Amethyst Cactus Quartz, Amethyst Porcupine Quartz)

Color:  It can come in various shades of purple like any other amethyst. But it can also have hints of orange or brown due to the way it forms because heat can change the color an amethyst is.

Mohs: 7 - 7.5

Chemical formula for quartz: SiO2

About Spirit Quartz (Cactus Quartz, Porcupine Quartz ): Spirit Quartz is a quartz crystal that has little crystals sprouting off it.

How this can be in the show: I think whatever is in the injectors eats away at a cluster of amethyst and shapes it into the gem cut its supposed to have while they’re incubating. So a Amethyst spirit Quartz’s Gem wouldn't look much different once it forms. But what you could add onto it to make it different from other amethyst is small extra characteristics to the amethyst’s design. You could say the reason for this is since the crystal she came from didn't have flat sides, whatever is in those injectors that shapes a gem is programmed to work with crystals with flat sides. Since this particular Amethyst had a bunch of tiny crystals on it, the cut of their gem isn't perfect. The extra characteristics in the design that I am talking about is stuff like having six fingers instead of five, wisdom teeth, extra teeth like two behind each other, double irises, odd eyes, fused pupils, maybe having small spikes naturally without being corrupted, stuff like that. You could also say that since she had crystals growing off of her while she was incubating that some amethyst split off from her, Technically making her a mom to some of them, Gemetically speaking. Once they would form she would just be called amethyst like the rest since she doesn't look much different. Quartzes are seen as disposable soldiers so she wouldn't be given her own name. Though it would probably say something about her being different from the others from reports the peridots in charge of the prime kindergarten took during their incubation. But since “spirit” and “cactus” aren't words homeworld would use since cactus is a plant from earth and spirit is a concept humans made up it would probably say that she was a “Host Amethyst” since some amethyst split off from her. She probably wouldn't be made aware of her title until they would somehow stumble upon the reports. The famethyst would probably jokingly call her “mama quartz” and as a comeback would call them children and tell them it's past their bedtime and go to bed or not to talk to their mama that way. It's all in good fun though.

Note: The metaphysical properties of Amethyst spirit quartz are the same as normal amethyst.

Metaphysical properties of Amethyst Spirit Quartz: Amethyst is known as a powerful and protective gem. Its suppose to help with panic attacks, helps with being able to love and feel love, and protects against stress and threats from others. It also helps sooth irritability, gets rid of anger,rage, fear, and anxiety. Amethyst will also help with sadness and grief.  

Note: Since the metaphysical properties didn't change I can't really write up a different personality for her, but you can give her a different personality from the other amethyst by giving her a personality depending on her gem placement and how she would have been treated by gems in her kindergarten and by how her superiors would treat her due to looking off-color.

She would probably be treated the worst out of the prime kindergarten quartzes due to her odd characteristics by the agates, calling her off-color, a mistake, a mutant, and worst things. Her kindergarten mates would always comfort her after once they got the chance, but she would still have doubts that she was worth just as much as the rest of them. On the battlefield she would always put herself in harm's way to shield her kindergarten mates from the enemy’s blows. They would call her brave but she didn't run head first into battle because she was brave. Due to her problem with self worth, she wasn't afraid to die, the only cared about if other people were safe. The others don't really pick up on what's wrong till Pink Diamond’s death when she starts taking more risks and she starts to distance herself from her group. Her sister quartzes don't ask her about it since they have bigger concerns on their mind at that point so they just try to protect her more during battles. They all just thought she was angry about Pink Diamonds death since she would still joke around and act ok like nothing was wrong. She manages to survive the war and finally breaks down and tell her sister quartzes about her problems once they are stationed at the zoo. She is able to heal at the zoo after being safe from the war and after meeting the betas. She makes quick friends with the betas because they came out off-color like her. She is able to accept herself for who she is over the years and becomes stronger because of it. I think she would be the only one of the famethyst to not want to return to earth because she would feel that the zoo is the only place that she would be happy in since earth is a battlefield full of bad memories for her and the zoo is the place where she felt the safest in a long time. She would come back to earth eventually but she is going to need a lot of support from the rest of the famethyst.

Where found: Spirit Quartzes are only found in South Africa, but dont let that stop you from making her part of the Famethyst.

Amethyst

Color: Various shades of purple. It gets its purple color from irradiation, iron impurities (in some cases in conjunction with transition element impurities), and the presence of trace elements.

Metaphysical properties:  Amethyst is known as a powerful and protective gem. Note: Since Amethyst is a canon character this paragraph is mostly to help with writing a character that is an amethyst or help writing a personality for the famethyst.

For writing the cannon Amethysts: In show the Amethyst gems have personality traits that correlate very well with the metaphysical properties. Our Amethyst is very protective of her friends and especially steven, this shows when she runs into battle and usually throwing Steven out of harm's way like when she was fighting with Pearl in On The Run and when she fights Jasper in Crack The Whip and in Earthlings. We haven't seen this protective nature in the Famethyst since we haven't seen them in a lot of episodes but I’m pretty sure they would fight for their little sister and protect the zoomans if they were under attack. I think the only time they would revolt against Holly Blue Agate without the crystal gem’s presence is if Holly Blue tried to hurt the zoomans. It would be impossible to not get attached to something you helped raise and got to see many generations of them. The Amethyst gems also represent the characteristic of helping with panic attacks, stress, and being able to feel love and love others in the way the Famethyst take care of the Zoomans and in how much our Amethyst grows over the series form hating herself because of her origins and because of the way she came out to liking who she is and knowing that even though she came out different then the other amethyst that doesn't mean she's weak. Amethyst are very therapist like gems, they help others with their problems and learn how to heal themselves. They also like to make jokes and are relatively chill gems.

For writing Gemsonas: All Amethyst shouldn't act the same. You can give them varying personalities depending on where their gem is. Like amethyst with gems on their forehead would show traits that people with asperger’s have. Or amethyst with gems on their shoulder would be more physically expressive, like she would talk with her hands a lot or likes to pick up her friends and carry them around just ‘cause. Differences like that.  

Where Found: Brazil, Uruguay, Sri Lanka,Siberia, Canada, India, Bolivia, and Argentina and in the U.S. Though most of the Amethyst comes from Zambia.

Hey

I’m sorry that my blog has been really dead for like months now, I’ve been dealing with a lot of things concerning with family. I’m back now, I have made a list of gems that i haven't talked about yet on my blog and I’m gonna be starting on writing about amethyst and different versions of it. Maybe try to connect the different types to the famethyst.

Sunstone

Color: Sunstone’s color could be red, orange, brown, pink. It gets its glitter-y look by inclusions of the mineral Hematite, or sometimes also Goethite or Pyrite and in one rare instances, Copper.

Mohs: 6 - 6.5

Note: Sunstone is a feldspar. Sunstone can be in one of two mineral classes, so ill put in the chemical formula for those.

Chemical formula of Microcline: KAlSi3O8

Chemical formula of Oligoclase: (Na,Ca)Al1-2Si3-2O8

Metaphysical properties: It dispels fears and phobias, brings leadership qualities, and decreases stress and helps people with depression. Its also said to bring good luck, openness, compassion, warmth, strength, and mental clarity. Sunstone is known as a joyful stone, it inspires a nurturing nature in order to be of service to others. It restores the enjoyment of life, and good nature. 

As a gem in Steven Universe I believe that Sunstone would be an optimistic, nurturing gem a ray of sun shine. They would help their friends by telling jokes, giving them advice, or giving them a shoulder to cry on. Basically playing the role of mom friend and therapist friend. They would also function well with in really dire situations, like trying to get other gems to safety during a raid or trying to guide a group of quartzes out of enemy territory after wandering to far in. They would try to be honest but if the truth might hurt somebody they would bend it a little. They would feel bad about it still. They would be very open about their feelings but this openness might result in sharing something that didn't really needed to be shared. I believe a good job in home would for them would be a jester type gem, a rescuer, or maybe a nurse so they could help with gems that are still regenerating or ones that have ships or cracks in them.   

Where found: Australia, Canada, China, Congo, India, Mexico, Norway, Russia, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and the United States. The most famous sunstone deposits in the United States are located in Oregon.

Red Diamond

Color: What causes diamonds to be red is by a rare deformation in its atomic structure, also known as ‘plastic deformation’.When a red diamond is retrieved from underground and light is allowed to pass through the irregular lattice, the unusual bending of the light causes the diamonds to reflect a ruby-like color.

Chemical formula for Diamonds: C

Metaphysical properties: Red diamonds bring love, serenity, simplicity, faith confidence, energy, strength, and power. They also bring good luck. 

I believe Red Diamond would be spirited, ambitious, and outgoing. Red would also be very loving and if she wanted to talk to other gems so would pick them up and carry them around. There is no getting out of it. You need to have a quick talk to her? You aren’t touching the ground. You need to show her something? You aren’t walking. If an agate wants to complain about the quartzes she was put with to Red Diamond. She will still pick them up, even if they are yelling and struggling, she might pet them to calm them down. Red Diamond knows they like it but agates and other high class gems would never admit it. There are rumors that her pearl has never touched the ground. She is chill about lower class gems if they accidentally disrupt a meeting or if one makes a mistake in her court. If they’re really messed up about it or scared about the consequences she will most likely hold them for a bit and will pet them if they look really shook up about it. She tends to like plain and simple designs when it comes to the design of her palace or her palanquin. She is very easy to read, she doesn't hide what she thinking and doesn't hide her emotions. The problem is that she sometimes what goes through her head should stay in her head and she has no filter. she has faith that any problem in her court or army can be handled by themselves. She likes to give her gems a chance to think of ways they can fix their own problems themselves. But if they still cant fix it after they try to fix things themselves she will step in and fix it. She has confidence that her court will pull through anything that is thrown at them. she is also very strong and power full. She has a fear that if she walks on a crowded path that she will accidentally shatter some one by stepping on them so she prefers to travel by palanquin. Though she has been lucky enough to not step on any one during the times she has to walk. Some good elemental powers to have for her would be fire or lava.

Extra fact: Red Diamonds are the rarest and are very expensive. There are only perhaps 20 to 30 red diamonds known to exist, and most weigh less than half a carat. The most expencive was the 0.95-carat diamond named Hancock Red. It sold for over $926,000 per carat.

Purple Diamond

Color: Their color is obviously purple. they can sometimes be more blue or be more pink. The purple color is caused by hydrogen impurities.

Chemical formula for Diamonds: C

Note: I couldn't find anything on metaphysical properties for just purple diamonds so I looked up what purple gems are associated with and metaphysical properties for diamonds. 

Metaphysical properties: Purple gems are associated with spirituality, love, enlightenment, serenity, pride, nobility, class, and mystery. Diamonds bring victory, superior strength, fortitude and courage.

I believe Purple diamond would meditate a lot and like incense, she would basically be the most chill diamond. like if she was human she would basically be a hippie, reading auras, writing songs, making terrible tasting tea as a cure for a headache, stuff like that. She would respect all classes of gems in her court, try to offer them advice, and try to make their lives easier with out other diamonds criticizing her for not treating members of her court the way the others would treat theirs. They would claim that she was to soft and not leader material. She would be a clam diamond, like if some one of lower class was putting their ideas in about something she would listen to their opinion no matter the how much the higher gems showed their disapproval. She does get irritated when a high class gem from another diamonds court treats a low class gem from the same court with disrespect. she doesn't display her anger though. She would just mention to that diamond that she dost want the high class gem back in her court and would most likely steal the low class gem from the other diamond and have them in her court. She gets away with it because the other diamonds don’t want to fight her about it. She would be very polite, like the worst word she will say is dam. She doesn't like excessive swearing or arguing. The only time when she will show her anger is when thats happening in a meeting and they wont calm down. She would just threaten them with a meditation session and since shes their diamond they would do it for her. Other high class gems would find this very strange and would be surprised that the meditation worked. Her court is the most efficient court out of all the other diamonds courts. she is also physically strong and isn't afraid of changing how her court runs in order to make everyone comfortable.  

Where Found:  Most purple diamonds come from Australia, but they are also found in Canada, Russia, and the Amazon.

Apple Aura Quartz (Emerald Aura Quartz)

Color: Bright green, like granny smith apples. It gets its color from nickel that its bonded to.

Mohs: 7 - 7.5

Chemical formula for quartz: SiO2  

Metaphysical properties: It assists in severing ties with previous partners or mentors who retain a mental or emotional hold despite physical separation. Helpful in finding truth, helps with communication, assists with growing and self expression, helps a person become successful.

Note: I believe this gem would be a good gem for a fusion, since when Pearl and Rose Quartz fused they became Rainbow Quartz, which is a aura quartz and we haven't had evidence that a aura quartz exists as a single gem. So I’ll write a entry on what they would be as a fusion and possible combinations. But in case anyone wants to use this for a single gem gemsona ill write an entry about that too.

As a fusion: I think this would be a good fusion to have for two gems who have had bad relationships in the past and would be afraid of getting into another serious relationship. As Apple Aura Quartz, the fusion would help them get over their bad relationships, would help them communicate better, be come more mature and understanding, and help them be more successful in accomplishing their goal. Maybe it would help one of the gems involved in the fusion to write, paint, sing songs, or dance. Depends on the gem’s personality. Maybe the more the gems would fused the more they would realize they weren't just doing it to accomplish a goal anymore and were doing it more to be close to each other. Just a suggestion, though that part would give a hint to the truth part of Apple Aura Quartz metaphysical properties. 

For different combinations of gems that could be involved in this fusion I think they could be white quartz or clear quartz + green gem, or green quartz + white gem or clear gem. A good green gem to be involved in this fusion would be emerald, since Apple Aura Quartz could also be called Emerald Aura Quartz.

As a single gem: Since quartzes are warrior gems I think she would help others in her kindergarten cope with having lost someone who they were very close to and try to help keep them mentally and emotionally together. She would be one of the gems who would help gems that use to be pink diamond’s cope with the lost of their diamond. She would be handing out advice and therapy sessions like how Oprah gives away prizes. (”And you get advice! And you get advice! And you get advice! Everyone gets a therapy session whether they like it or not.”) She would be able to see very clearly whether they were lying or not, she would help gems with communication and be a very good listener. She would be very mature and would help other gems solve their problems maturely instead of them just bottling up their emotions. She would either be very artistic or would suggest things like drawing and writing poetry for gems to cope with loss or cope with not being able to control their emotions. She would want nothing more than the people around her to have their goals accomplished and them to be happy. She would basically be a mom friend the therapist friend. Other gems may find her to be somewhat irritating because sometimes she doesn't know when to stop being involved in a gems personal life. She could be accused of forgetting that shes a quartz because quartzes are meant to fight and not be collecting flowers to braid into other quartzes hair. Though most of these accusations are made by higher class gems, her agate, or more closed of quartzes in other kindergarten.   

Where found:  Aura quartzes are actually man made, they heat the quartz to almost 1600 °F ( 900 °C) in a vacuum chamber & then the metal vapor is added. The metal atoms fuse molecularity to the crystal’s surface, which gives the crystal an iridescent metallic luster. Different metals mean different colors.

Amber

Colors: yellow, orange or brown. Golden-yellow amber is usually from evergreen pine trees. Amber can also occur whitish to pale lemon-yellow and brown to nearly black. Rare blue amber comes from the Dominican Republic. There is also rare green ambers and red colored ambers. Red amber is sometimes referred to as "cherry amber".

Mohs: 2 - 2.5

Chemical formula of Amber: Amber is composed of complex organic material without any definitive chemical formula. Its substance can also vary depending on its origination.

Metaphysical properties: Highly protective, promotes fertility, healing, increase confidence, mental clarity, and creative self-expression.

Since Amber hasn't been in steven universe as a gem we cant be really sure were she would be on the totem poll. The only organic gemstone we know about is pearl and pearls are used as slaves, so I would assume that Amber wouldn't be that high on the totem poll either. But we can still make a pretty good guess on her personality. She would be very protective of her friends and to anyone she would get romantically involved with. She would be mothering. She could have some sort of healing powers, but maybe they would just work for organic life, so she wouldn't be too over powered. She would be confident, calm, and be very creative.

Moonstone (Moonstone feldspar)

Note: I written this post already to day, I let my mom borrow my laptop and she closed the tab I had this on, I died a little on the inside when I saw. The first one was better.  

Colors: Usually transparent or translucent, with white, blue, green, yellow, orange, brown, pink, purple, gray

Mohs: 6 - 6.5

Moonstone can fit in a lot of families of feldspar. Chemical formula of Plagioclase Feldspar: (Na,Ca)Al1-2Si3-2O8

Chemical formula of Orthoclase Feldspar: KAlSi3O8

Metaphysical properties:  Helps inner growth and strength.  It soothes emotional instability and stress, and stabilizes the emotions, providing calmness.  Moonstone enhances intuition, promotes inspiration, success and good fortune in love and business matters.

Since we haven't been told about where feldspars are in homeworld society or in just Steven Universe this wont be the most accurate. For personality, I think she would be very mature, calm, could figure out problems very quickly and creatively. She would give good relationship advice and would work well with others. I think she would be in blue diamonds court, maybe she could be an architect or maybe paint portraits of high class gems.

Crab Fire Agate

note: I haven't found an agate that’s just called red agate, so I’m posting the agates that I found that have red in them.

Color: Various shades of red with orange, yellow, or white lines. The lighter colored ones look like cracked crab shells and the darker colored ones like like embers.  

Mohs: 6.5 - 7

Chemical formula of quartz: SiO2

Metaphysical properties: Aid memory,  assist one in finding the right partner,  protection in general and from anger, jealousy and fear. Brings good luck.

Since Crab Fire Agate has a lot of metaphysical properties that would contradict to the belief that agates are meant to terrify I think this would be a good agate to be a crystal gem. This agate wouldn't like their job because she would be a lot more caring and protective of their quartzes then an agate was supposed to be. Personality-wise she would want her quartzes to be happy, and would try to set up quartez that have crushes on each other on long patrols with each other hoping at least one of them would make a move. she would try to protect her quartzes from anger, and fear. She would also help other quartzes on her battalion get over jealousy of other quartzes strength or if the quartz they liked romantically was with someone else. These traits have a down side though, her involvement in her quartzes lives can be annoying to the quartzes and would be an out cast. If she stayed with homeworld they would not give her praise for her work since she is not displaying normal agate behavior but they wouldn't punish her for her behavior since her quartzes are some of the best fighters they have because of the way she treats them. If she was a crystal gem she would be happy and grateful that they would accept her into the rebellion so she could finally be who she was, and would fight hard for the rebellion. She would probably be a good friend of Garnet, spending their free time talking about their ships.   

Where found: Northern mexico and the southern west of america.

Coyamito Agate

Colors: red, pink, purple, yellow, orange, and brown.

Chemical formula of quartz: SiO2

Metaphysical properties: Stabilizing and strengthening. They improve memory and increase energy.

Translating into Steven Universe this would mean that this agate has control of their emotions and is strong in strength, strong emotionally, and strong mentally. they would have a very good memory, like, ridiculously accurate memory. But this trait makes it hard to forget something they don't need to remember or move on from something traumatic in their past. They also can control the situation in really well, like if they wanted to make the situation more positive, they could. But if she wanted to make a situation look worse than it really was to play to her advantage, she could.

Where found: Northern Mexico, close to where Laguna Agate is found.

Zebra Jasper

Colors: dark, jagged stripes that are usually black or brown with background colors that are either white, gray or tan.

Mohs: 6 - 6.5

Chemical formula of quartz: SiO2

Metaphysical properties:  shows true nature of people. Helps people see past illusion. Brings love in the universe. Zebra jasper brings a sense to people that they can never run out of Divine love or energy, and that in the end, everything will be ok. Helpful in relationships, the workplace, and other environments that involves relating to people and working with them.

In Steven Universe I think it would translate as Zebra Jasper would be able to detect a lie from a mile away and helps point them out for people. If she were to join the crystal gems she would be one of the first to join since she would be one of the first ones to see something wasn't right with homeworld. If she was a part of homeworld she would be responsible for catching spies from the rebellion, would do well in predicting where the crystal gems were going to attack next. I believe she would be an optimist, been a romantic if she were in a relationship, she would still push on even if it was obvious the army she was in wasn't gonna win, and would try to keep her army’s spirits up. She would give good relationship advice and would always be the gem to break up fights if one broke out in her own army.
