Hihi, two questions! I found your you and thought it'd be nice to get some secondary opinions from someone who knows their stuff. 1) What do you think would be some good fusions for brookite and apatite, and 2) What would be a good weapon for both gems?

For Brookite, a good weapon might be a staff of some sort? And for apatite, perhaps a gauntlet or brass knuckles - some sort of close-combat melee weapon-type-thing? If you go with brass knuckles, a good fusion of the two weapons would be a morningstar.

A good fusion of apatite and brookite would be phantom quartz, selenite, sodalite, or stitchtite. Which one you choose really depends on the color of apatite, as there is a lot of those ^w^;

excuse me, but do you have any ideas for a Green Goldstone guard's weapon/powers?

Well because Green Goldstone is technically a type of quartz (actually glass made from quartz sand but still,) they could probably do that sonic-roll-thing that Jasper and Amethyst do sometimes in the show? I’m not sure about powers other than that. As for a weapon, perhaps something long-distance like a crossbow (or if you’re feeling frisky, a trebuchet) would work well!

What would be a good body structure for a Shungite gemsona? Lean and fast, big and bulky, and etc. And what would be a good weapon choice?

That’s really for you to decide, but raw shungite usually forms in bricks like this so big and bulky might be a good choice? As for a weapon, perhaps a large shield or even electricity powers?

heya, any idea for what job a Labradorite might do on Homeworld, and if they'd dwell under a specific Diamond?

I’d say as for a diamond, probably Blue diamond because while it is iridescent, (at least in pictures i have seen and pieces i have) it’s mostly blue-green. And as for a job, perhaps a support role, like a therapist/counselor of some sort?

And sorry I haven’t been answering questions! I have a lot on my plate rn and am really busier than expected - i’ll try to get to the rest of the questions tomorrow!

Hello, it's me again :) I can't find a good weapon for a calm and happy Adularia, could you help me please ? And if it's not too much, a Bronzite + Cuprite + Williamsite fusion gem please ?

For the Adularia (a common variety of moonstone) a staff or shield may work well, as it is a stone of protection ^w^

And a really good choice for a fusion would be Bloodstone, or Heliotrope. (Different names for the same stone ^w^;)

Hello, it's me once again, I need help for 2 things : 1) Did you know another gem family than Tourmaline, Garnet or Quartz ? 2) (don't know if I already send you this question) Any green gem that could be an assassin in Homeworld ?

There's corundum gems, beryls, feldspars, opals if you want to count that, maybe tektites?? etc. Some of those might overlap a bit, idk ^w^ and as for green assassin gems, green zincite or cats eye chrysoberyl might work well!

Have you done Gem names like Peridot's and Amethyst's official names given by Homeworld? If so, do you have suggestions for a Watermelon Tourmaline with a rectangular-cut Gem?

Hello, did you have any gem that could fit with an happy and adventurous personality (the gem will be a scout for Homeworld) and (if you do it) her gem placement ?

Well if you want to go with the obvious pun, Aventurine would be a good fit.

Joking aside, some gems that would fit would be adamite, boulder opal, ametrine, and stillbite, and a good gem placement would be the chest or navel!

Now featuring over 300 gems, which is too many for my poor SAI, so I don’t think I’ll update this file again. However, I will start work on a secondary file with gems that I’ve cut out this one, specifically ones like Rose Quartz or Black Opal. You know, the “x [gem]” gemstones. I’ll link it in the description of this post when it’s done, and I’ll post it on Tumblr too of course.

I was wondering if you could help me out with the style of steven universe, I keep trying to make gemsonas but I feel like they aren't close enough to the style of it or that they look too similar to other gemsonas :(

I’ve had similar difficulties anon! What you need to keep in mind is how lines and shapes are used in Steven Universe.

Simplistic shapes and line shape / size are the most important things to consider when trying to emulate the Steven Universe style. (I remember Ian JQ did a mini tutorial on how the crew used lines as emphasis but I’m afraid I can’t find it right now).

What I’ve found most helpful is studying the SU Distance Models. Try sticking to only 3-4 colors and break your gemsona down into shapes! See what you can exaggerate, what details are most important, and emphasize those. 

What it really boils down to after that is practice! Keep drawing anon.
