Happening right now in Hong Kong - the police is firing rubber bullets and using batons, pepper spray, tear gas and water cannons on peaceful protesters who took the streets to protest against the passing of a controversial law which would allow China to extradite people.

Protesters set up camps, gave out snacks and surgical masks before all of this started. Tanks are apparenrly out in the streets as well and people are being hurt as I write this, but they are not backing down.

Most of the protesters are young people, university students, even high schoolers.

The real problem within the United States opioid epidemic;

My father is one of the thousands of Americans that suffer from addiction. Over the past week he has decided to admit himself into a detox facility and then rehab with my help. In the past week my father and I have talked to dozens of facilities.

One of them told him to come into the emergency room and a bed in their detox program would be his. They sent us home 2 hours later with an expired metro card and no information. When I called later that day the detox program said that the emergency room never called them when he got there.

Another one promised that they would send a bus out to pick him up and admit him that day. Nobody showed. We called them and they told us that they didn’t have any drivers but that they would email us the address so we could bring him their ourselves. We never got an email.

The last one told him that they couldn’t accept him into the facility because his ID was expired. My father does not have to proper paperwork to get himself a new ID.

This countries problem is that our healthcare system makes it impossible for people to get help when they need and want it. It’s disgusting and it needs to change.

My younger brother is Type 1 Diabetic.

When we go to a movie theater, we always get him diet soda. If he were to get regular when we asked for diet, we would not give him the insulin he would need for it. If that happens, his blood sugar level could go so high he could go into a coma, go blind, or even die.

If somebody gave him regular soda instead of diet without telling us, that person could be responsible for a nine-year-old being killed or blinded.

Just thinking about that makes me so angry. I get scared every time we take him to a movie in case the people working there saw this picture and decide to do the same thing.

Hi, my name is Toony/Trickster, a nonbinary, black, disabled, autistic, queer 18 year old and I’m getting kicked out of my house by my abusive, transphobic mother for having a panic attack.

Yesterday my mom and I got into an argument where she slapped me, called the police on me twice (for no reason, and she often does this knowing damn well I’m terrified of the police), punched me and slammed my hand into a door to the point where I couldn’t move it.

Along with this, she called me retarded, mocked me for crying after she hurt me and said “she can’t handle me being trans due to the mental illness aspect.” During the instance where she slammed my hand into the door, the beginning of the frame began to crack and the door can’t shut correctly.

I don’t know how long I have here and I need to find a place to live, prefably in the Western Massachusetts area near Springfield so I can get to school and work.

this is so important!!! i am sooooo lucky not to have any allergies or things like this but even if it won’t kill them, give them what they fucking ask for!!! they want soy milk? give them soy milk!! who cares the reason! they want to be a little bit healthier? maybe they feel horrible about their body (yeah even skinny ppl) and want to enjoy a something without feeling as bad about it. just give them what they ask for!!! you shouldn’t have to see a five year olds celiac wrist band to decide you won’t give them gluten! if they ask for something gluten-free fucking give it to them!!! it’s rlly not that hard
