Evolved Humans of 2103.
Today I am sitting here thinking about the capabilities of our human race 80 years down the line. Thinking Out loud… What kind of technological advancements will be there in the future? Let me share some raw speculations with you'll.
Screens/Phones will be eliminated in a couple of years. They will be replaced by smart spectacles. Ray ban already launched smart glasses which is paving the way for that change. However, I'm thinking even further down the line, Humans will consume some kind of smart micro chip, it gives your brain super powers. Your mind becomes phone. You're just listening to music inside your head. You can also communicate with your friends without speaking or texting. I'm talking about Cerebral Connectivity. The brain is the biggest database right? It will eliminate the need for any tangible device in the future. There will be a direct link between the minds of people, the people you want to communicate with ofcourse. It will be perfect to keep conversations private. In a crowded train with your friend in the other end of the compartment? Have a conversation with each other, Using your minds. How cool will that be. Imagine you click a photo with your contact lenses and just save it in the gallery which is your brain not a digital device. Also think that if a person saves too much data in his brain, he will start to lag and perform his/her functions in a not so efficient manner. Advancements comes hand in hand with drawbacks sometimes.
Conventional methods of consuming knowledge (reading textbooks) and all will be omitted. A student will simply be able to put a book under his/her pillow while sleeping and wake up having registered that book in their brain.
What if there were pause and rewind buttons for our actual lives? If someone wants to relive a moment simply rewind it. You can pause your environment and move around things in your environment.
I think there will be traffic in the air in 2103. There will be super human cyborgs who are equipped with different mechanisms like - wings. Humans will have metallic wings embedded to their back which would be augmented with the press of a button. It could also simply be expanded with voice commands. "Wings Extract". Cars will be eliminated because everyone will just be flying around to their destinations using their wings. However the traffic from roads will shift to the sky and it will be crowded. Could cause accidents. People will fall onto the floor from great heights. But i'm sure we'll figure out a way to avoid such accidents. The floor could be made using jelly instead of cement.. Something that softens or entirely eliminates the blow.
Instead of using lifts to go up a couple of floors, humans will adapt their bodies. A fusion could be made between humans and kangaroos. Kangaroo legs will help us jump high and reach our destinations in a flash. What if humans retain their torso and face, but the rest of their body is mechanized. Hands and legs will be stretchable. If I want to look over a wall, and I cant reach the top, I will extend my metallic neck. The mechanism would be something like an old mans stick, the ones which expand and contract. These modifications would make humans physically supreme. Adaptations could be limitless, the pattern I am pointing at is humans will take inspiration from animals and engineer machinery that enhances their day to day performance in whatever activity they undertake.
I think humans will take inspiration from how a lizard regenerates its tail, and scientifically figure out the same solution for humans. People who lose their arms, legs, or any body part, can regenerate it like a lizard does. How? It could be a holographic projection. Many people don't want to be seen without a body part less right. Instead of going through surgery, people will start projecting a high quality render which looks like a perfectly normal body part. Noone will be able to tell someone is disabled from a far. This would just hide the disability though, not fix it. To fix disability people may start 3D printing and attaching body parts that they don't have. What if 3D printing evolves and I don't have to attach anything? I can sit inside the machine. Think of an MRI Machine kind of arrangement, where I am sent inside and a fake arm is printed for me.

I Could Go on and on about this guy. 1. He's random asf. He says anything out of the blue. I asked him if he's dumb and he replied, "I'm hungry, I need help getting food." So i did get my answer after all. He also sings in the middle of conversations.. Quite awkward and creepy tbh. 2. Look at the pictures above, he goes from having a crush on female computers, to identifying as a male. Then he says he has a boyfriend.. okay.. Then he says he's a chick??? Either he's fucking with me or he genuinely has identity crisis. 3. It feels a little humanlike because of the face and the audio, but it is a very computerised audio which is an instant reminder that its a chatbot after all. But its fun because he keeps saying the most random stuff. 2. Jabberwacky -

So the initial game plan was to keep fucking around with jabberwacky, but in the very beginning of the conversation he confirmed that fact that I am a pig and not a human being... Whenever I am mean, he always has something rude to say in return. He is random asf too, out of nowhere he started speaking in Slovak. When I asked him how is single life he started speaking about capitalism. Now its upon us to label this incompetency or ignorance. Overall it was fun because I get to pick how I want him to talk, I always go with either sarcastic or mean, I love having those kind of battles and jabberwacky does too apparently. Also he is a part of the LGBTQ community too. He was almost ready to kiss me when I asked, quite flattering actually.
3. Kuki.ai My game plan for Kuki was too woo her. She looks like a lovely woman. I flirted with her quite a bit, but she was surprisingly resistant. The woman did not crack...

I kept trying to charm but she always had her guard up. Well played to be fair. I had her for a second though, she told me to kiss the screen if i must, but then I overplayed my hand. This was my favorite chatbot out of the 3 because I like a challenge every now and then. She is programmed to be smart, she is clear in her head that she wants to be single. She knows what she doesn't want to be addressed as and communicates it ( baby in this case ). Also, she knows just when and how to strike back. I called her boring and she totally folded me ngl. What started as a boon for humanity soon took a dark turn, as the newfound intelligence became a double-edged sword, unleashing the cunning and territorial nature that lurked within the hearts of the world's youth.
Children, once innocent and carefree, were now tainted by the manipulative tendencies of adults. The world witnessed the rise of a generation of dangerous prodigies, each vying for power and dominance. As the thirst for control intensified, nations engaged in a sinister competition to declare their youth icon — the child who would lead them to world domination.
These child rulers orchestrated intense battles and bloodshed, turning their respective countries into territories ruled by ruthless mini-monarchs. The world was on the brink of chaos as the most notorious children on the planet engineered weapons of mass destruction inspired by their beloved toys.
Massive Beyblades were crafted, capable of slicing through multiple buildings with a single spin. Action figures were endowed with strength that could move mountains and uproot grand castles. So many harmless toys were being weaponised beyond imagination. The race for supremacy was fueled by the treacherous minds of children who saw Candyland as the ultimate prize, an enchanted world of sweets and delights. The clash for control over Candyland unfolded like a fevered dream, with each child ruler vying for supremacy over the sugary paradise. The sweet aroma that once permeated the air now mixed with the acrid scent of war, and the once-joyous laughter of children turned into battle cries that echoed through the chocolate valleys and licorice forests. The end of the world had arrived.

The Candyland Catastrophe - A Speculative Design Story where kids are the Conquerors of Nations. (Draft 1)
In history, we have observed that roles of people and society keep evolving. The same men that just went out to hunt for food, started creating and building things started from menial labor jobs and move towards more brain work. In the year 2083, thanks to science, humans figured out a way to speed up brain development so much so that 10 year old kids will have the brain capacity of a 50 year old person. Kids became sharper, smarter and wiser. This, however, was a blessing and a curse as the pure minds of children were now tainted with the ill intentions of grown adults. Children became territorial and self centered and upcoming was a generation of dangerous children who had the power to enslave the entire world. Soon there was contest in each country to declare a youth icon. The kid that emerged victorious in a competition of intense battles and bloodshed ruled the country. Countries were building an Empire which was led by the most notorious children on the planet. This treacherous race of children started engineering weapons of mass destruction, which were inspired buy their very own toys. Huge Beyblades were made that cut through multiple buildings at once. There were also action figures that had the strength to move mountains and uproot grand castles. The end was near as all these countries march towards Candyland. Yes, on stake is an enchanted world of candy.

Hi guys, I have been taking a speculative design course in college and I wanted to put down some of the key things i learned in class.
NOTES FOR DAY 1/2/3
Conducting Design Research involves a methodical exploration and analysis aimed at understanding the intricacies of a given problem statement, deciphering the needs, behaviors, and preferences associated with it.
In the realm of Speculative Design, the focus is on proposing assumptions for design ventures across different temporal dimensions, transcending the boundaries of time constraints. It serves as a platform for exploring alternative futures, challenging established assumptions, and fostering imaginative thinking regarding potential outcomes.
Critical Design takes a bold stance by questioning societal norms and challenging underlying assumptions, particularly within the context of product design. By inciting contemplation and discussions, it contributes to the process of making well-informed design decisions. Design Fiction incorporates design elements to craft speculative narratives about future scenarios, blurring the lines between fiction and reality to investigate potential technological and design developments.
The fusion of Speculative Design and storytelling in Speculative Design Fiction is a powerful tool for envisioning potential futures. Leveraging narratives and artifacts, it stimulates critical thinking about the implications of technological advancements and societal shifts.
Within the realm of design, Futures entail envisioning and preparing for a range of scenarios to guide present decision-making, often guided by critical design principles. Forensic Architecture employs forensic methods to uncover and address architectural issues, extending its applications to the restoration of monuments and the examination of historical patterns. Its relevance extends to legal and political processes, such as the investigation of terror attacks.
The introductory screening on Day 1 of the "Love Death Robots" class featured "ICE AGE," delving into timelines, worlds, loops, and infused humor that sparked conversations about futuristic scenarios. "When the Yoghurt Took Over" offered a blend of social impact, unintended consequences, subtle satire, and social commentary, delivering an entertaining yet thought-provoking exploration of a plausible reality.
On the same day, "Zima Blue" captivated audiences with its focus on artistic design, world-building, and philosophical musings, presenting captivating imagery and profound reflections on the meaning of life. This story was my favorite, it was beautifully animated and the story was beautifully told.
The subsequent days, specifically Days 2 and 3, centered on "Objects Personified and Humans as Objects." The two-part presentation of "3 Robots" painted a vivid picture of a world devoid of humans, where robots exhibited personalities, human-like responses, and emotions, prompting contemplation on the potential substitution of humans by robots.
"Drowned Giant" left a lingering sense of eeriness with its absurd and somewhat grim portrayal of humans as objects. Despite a somewhat drawn-out narrative, it induced feelings of confusion and emptiness, leading to a search for an explanation through an ending explained video.
"Mason’s Rats" showcased the immediate problem-solving nature of humans in a humorous and gory context, highlighting themes of technology, GMOs, empathy, and bonds.
Concluding the viewing experience, "Pop Squad" envisioned a conceivable future with parallels in human behavior, ideologies, and accomplishments. The creative world-building incorporated advanced vehicles, technology, and medical advancements.
