Tumblr Boycott to Protest Continued Lack of Movement to Ban White Nationalists

Tumblr @staff have been silent about the use of this site by white nationalist bloggers, while numerous other sites (see this post) have made actions to ban nazis/white nationalists/”alt-right”/fascists. Tumblr needs to know their lack of action is unacceptable. I love my tumblr community and want to stay, but if this continues, I will have to considering leaving.

I suggest we push back, and unite to boycott on a certain date. I’m arbitrarily suggesting September 1st - it’s nine days from this post, and that gives it enough time to hopefully get spread as far as possible. Boycotts only work if lots of people do it. Please consider joining me and logging off tumblr on September 1st, to let them know we’re serious about their apathy towards white nationalism.

I’d add thinking about animals as things. The suffering of animals is a product of the same system and the same attitude that produced Nazis and Trump. We are not things, including those of us who have four legs and can’t talk.

I know I was taking a little break to avoid all the stress of the Charlottesville rally being talked about on tumblr, but I also wanted to make sure all of my Jewish mutuals know how loved they are. I know this is scary and sometimes it feels like the only people looking out for us is ourselves, but know that you are not alone and have never been alone. We are one mishpacha, one family, and we will look after each other and keep each other safe like we always have. I love each and every one of you. Remember, the whole world is a very narrow bridge and the main thing is to have no fear at all.

Goyim, please reblog this instead of all the performative “punch a nazi” nonsense. Make your Jewish followers feel safe.

We will uplift the voices that need it most. We will be the “helpers” so sorely needed. We will prove that one act of kindness outweighs 1000 atrocities born of hate.

We will not be stopped in this endeavor. We will not lose hope. We will continue to love and help wherever it is needed. There is nothing that will change who we are. We will be forever proud. 

And no matter your gender, race, sexuality, ability, creed, class, country, religion, or age, you are loved and you are wanted. We will do better to prove this to you.

This is a picture of the heroic students from the University of Virginia that stood up to hundreds of white supremacists in Charlottesville tonight. They were completely surrounded. They were beaten. They were maced. The police stood by and watched it all happen. But they stood firm, yelling “Black Lives Matter!” and “No Racists! No KKK! No Fascist USA!” until the Nazis left. They were then forcefully removed by the police, who called them an “unlawful assembly.” These college kids bravely stood up in the face of evil tonight. And they are a shining light on what was otherwise an extremely dark thing. Fuck fascism. Fuck white supremacy. Celebrate these fucking heroes.
