Togafuka is so funny as a ship. The enormity of my desire disgusts YOU.
#Orig tags:#Fukawa weaponising her sexuality to disgust others b4 they can do it to her is so important to me.#(See her comments about Asahina's boobs... Closeted lesbian Fukawa ftw.)#(Goes nicely with closeted transfem Togami.)#mine#touko fukawa#byakuya togami#togafuka#trigger happy havoc

What are your thoughts on Makoto Naegi and their relationship with Byakuya Togami?
Oh, lol, Naegami was my first ever filtered tag on here! But that was because my introduction to the franchise was the THH anime, and since the trials are so condensed, Naegi just seems like a loser in them. He grew on me much more when I played the game. I know your question wasn't specifically about the ship, but it was the first tidbit that came to mind.
I haven't paid as much attention to Naegi as to other characters, but I think he's a good character both in that I like him and in that he serves the purpose of exploring the choice to have hope well. And I think he winds up being a good influence on Togami not necessarily for redemption reasons (because iirc he remains a hater <3) but because he adopts a more collectivist approach to life that is... quite necessary if you're in the apocalypse. It reminds me a lot of the manga Liar Game and how trust is ultimately what is needed to get out of the prisoner's dilemma.
As a ship I've actually warmed up to it as long as Togami is a freak about it. I don't read Heartstopper鈥攍et him be obsessive! Let him be high school Hannibal. Let him be simultaneously baffled and fascinated and grudgingly envious of his approach to life.
P.S.: I use it very rarely, but I have a DR sideblog at @genoscissors, if you'd like to say hi.

I'm just posting but I think it's important to distinguish control freaks who hate losing versus control freaks who hate being forced to play. Initially, I thought about this because of Jonah Magnus and Gertrude Robinson, who would be "hates losing" and "hates being forced to play" respectively. Let's call them Type A and Type B.
In a structure that exploits them, Type As don't need the rules that bind them to change, merely their place in them. Opposing something means implicitly admitting it was harming you in the first place. A system only does not benefit you if you're a victim thereof, and you cannot admit you're a victim. Class traitors also fall into this category, I suppose. Type As seek to be at the top of the structure, not to dismantle it, because they identify with the exploiter.
From Danganronpa (sorry. sorry), we can see Togami as a Type A. He wants to win the killing game at the expense of everyone else and place himself on equal grounds with the Mastermind because he is more like the Masterminds than the rest of the victims (I'm not a victim). His Type B counterpart is Kirigiri, who will dismantle the killing game by any means necessary because they tried to set the rules for the game arbitrarily and following them would be stupid (I'm not stupid). Pushing it a bit further, I think Vriska from Homestuck is a Type A and Rose Lalonde is a Type B. One ruthlessly pursues the role she thinks she should get to be; the other throws her assigned role in the trash, or tries to.
Both types have pride, but I think there's more spite in Type As, "I will thrive under any set of rules, however arbitrary, just to show you that fuck you, I'm that good", whereas Type Bs have the awareness that under certain circumstances a winner is more similar to a loser than to the house, "If you try to impose an arbitrary set of rules on me I will smash this whole thing to pieces".
#I talk about them a bit here so I think it could go on this blog too.#trigger happy havoc#byakuya togami#kyouko kirigiri#mine#metaposting

Well I like it but it鈥檚 not very well written. Also it鈥檚 a visual mess. The plot doesnt make any sense and the creators suck and its politics oscillate from mildly problematic to frankly baffling. I wouldn鈥檛 recommend it to anyone. However. the character

Personally, I think Kodaka should continue to make increasingly removed types of games that are invariably revealed to be Danganronpa spinoffs by the finale. That'd be cool.

Yes! Canon status varies because him dressing as a woman is in the Togami novels, but the rest of the list is based on things that happened in Trigger Happy Havoc, among them the Free Time Events (he likes antique dolls, the Emperor's Thong, the curry, the videogame, and flowers as presents) and the bad ending where Naegi exposes Kirigiri's lie (the CG shows him wearing a hoodie and jeans holding Fukawa's portrait).
Things about Togami:
He's so scared of feelings that his brain shuts down when they're involved.
He messed with a crime scene and desecrated a corpse for fun and strategy.
He likes porcelain dolls and flowers.
He's obsessed with true crime and solving cold cases.
The one thing other than feelings and the destruction of his bloodline to genuinely affect him is sexual threats.
He thinks his title should be SHSL Renaissance Man instead.
He lived undercover as a woman and seemingly got into it.
Some other presents he likes are curry for children and a thong.
So sure of his conclusions that he drank what could have been poison (he was right).
The worst timeline has him wear a hoodie and jeans.
He lovingly holds the portrait of his stalker in his bad ending.
He likes a videogame where you play as a god.
He's one of the only ones to not make a weird comment about the Fujisaki reveal (which was obviously horribly written aside from that).
