Exploring and celebrating GRR together with the many ways to be GNC. Mostly runs on a queue but will post about actual GRR media from time to time. Has NSFW but only sporadically. (Adult, they/them.) I have a catalogue of stories that feature GRR and/or matriarchal societies from a variety of genres. Will add more entries as I discover more. Feel free to send recs!

Am I wrong to be disappointed in the gettys queer history exhibit? I adored seeing everything and everyone don't get me wrong, but there was one photograph for intersex people. It was someone's genitals. The info board only said they didn't know the name of the subject and it was likely taken for medical purposes. People were gathering in that corner and gawking. My only representation in the queer art history space was a nonconsentual picture of genitals. That was it. The only representation they had for intersex history was a waist down picture of someone's genitals. Not our activism, not Hermaphrodites with Attitude, not our lives, not our faces, not our books, not the celebrities or athletes with variations, not our myths or statues or ancient art, just genitals. I left the event early, because I couldn't stop looking at people and knowing that if I talked to them about being intersex all they would see would be genitals, because I knew that after the whole exhibit they would all only know me as genitals.

it pisses me off SO bad how transphobes have so effectively used sports to launder transphobia and misogyny to people. like does nobody remember like ~5-10 years ago when it was a MAJOR feminist talking point to argue for desegregating sports and going by skill level instead of gender separation??? and now, because so many cis people hate trans people so violently and think we should be excluded from all aspects of public life, you’ve got a whole bunch of women who call themselves feminists laundering misogynistic talking points about how “women are just inherently weaker and worse at athletics than men :(( it’s just biology and women are inherently inferior :(( this is definitely not misogyny that’s unsupported by science, women are just weaker and worse at things :((“ like girl open your ears and listen to what you’re saying!!

this might sound stupid but I can’t help but believe that the new wave of “birth control is actually horrible for your body, you need to get off it immediately” misinformation from influencers and the ‘natural cycle tracking’ apps suddenly being advertised is a sneaky underhanded way of causing more unplanned pregnancies that people now cannot abort. now is possibly the worst time ever to turn towards ‘natural family planning’

This is the most "oh, how annoyingly endearing!" face Avoryx is capable of making. That, or she's about to crash out so hard

im pro choice and i think there are a lot of good pro choice arguments but my bad evil (speaking facetiously) argument is that i kind of dont care and i dont think it matters for anyone but the specific person whose body it concerns. im not religious so i dont believe in souls. if a lady finds out she’s pregnant and doesn’t want it and aborts it without telling anyone then like so what? i dont feel bad for the fetus. i don’t remember being a fetus. nobody does. it might’ve become a person, but so might every sperm and egg that goes unused. I might’ve become a world class ballerina if i didnt stop taking lessons when i was 6, so i expect all ballet enthusiasts to now start crying for the talent stolen from them. And the situation in which i *do* feel bad is if the woman has her life derailed suffering through an unwanted pregnancy. See, then i feel bad because there’s a woman in physical and emotional pain. I also feel terrible for women who suffer miscarriages during wanted pregnancies. but also because those women are going through physical and emotional pain. i dont feel bad for the fetus itself. isn’t this a normal way for empathy to work or am i somehow evil in some way i haven’t considered

isn't it crazy that a woman being gender nonconforming literally just requires her to exist in her own body without making any changes whatsoever. why does the fact that i don't wear makeup and i don't shave and i don't wear a bra have to be some political act. why can't i just fucking exist

people really do equate morality to hair huh. ppl see a boy balding and say thats actually a sleazebag and creep who doesnt know personal hygiene. ppl see a man wearing a toupee or combing over his hair and make fun of him for trying to hide his true colors of being secretly an ugly balding person. ppl see a shitty person who happens to be bald or balding and say their disgusting ugly offensive hair is their divine punishment for their actions/personality. ppl see a girl whos bald, balding, or just has short hair and pity her and mourn her perceived loss of feminine beauty. ppl see a women with thin hair or receding hairline and harass her enough to make her start wearing wigs and hats or even undergo cosmetic procedures to fix herself out of fear of further harassment. can people stop being so fucking weird about the perceived morality of hair loss that literally almost everyone and their mother has. hair loss is not a bug its a goddamn feature
