Mental Health Stigma

There's this huge stigma associated to seeking mental health treatment, and honestly I don't understand it. There are too many people out here walking around undiagnosed. Just because you're seeing a therapist/psychiatrist doesn't necessarily mean that you are crazy, it just means like you and all of us other human beings have went through shit in life and will continue to experience different things in this life, but we sometimes are unable to figure out ways to cope with our past and current issues. Which now in that case effects our minds in different ways, and has us doing things we never thought we were capable of saying or doing to ourselves and others around us. So like any doctor in the hospital who has studied the body, there are doctors who have studied the brain and human behavior in certain instances. Therefore now being able to figure out ways to trigger certain parts of your brains that may lack the chemicals you may need to continue living a healthy, sane and fully functional life. Just like a doctor who gives you antibiotics to help get rid of a infection in your body, there are medications that help you get back to where you need to be in life mentally, along with exercises and coping methods just in case you happen to run into a similar situation. So yes, I'm sure like many of us have witnessed family members and friends trying to talk us out of talking to someone regarding our problems, because they believe only the insane or crazy should seek help. Well I'm sure a lot of those people who are at a point of no return now, could've possibly sought help and maybe they wouldn't be where they are today. With that being said, don't ever allow someone to try talking you out of going to speak to a professional.. I understand that a lot of us don't feel comfortable talking to a stranger who knows nothing about our lives, but once you lay it all on the table these therapists have ways of opening your mind and even help you to realize the root causes and issues to your problems. Once that happens, the tools on how to work through whatever it is that you are going through in life will be presented to you. Don't let anyone tell you that "oh you're fine", "time heals all wounds" and "oh you need Jesus". Yes I am a firm believer in God, however our soul and spirit is currently being housed in physical body and The Lord has placed people on this planet who He has allowed to become knowledgeable of our physical bodies, and help see us through our physical problems.
