Anyone else just now realize how when Feyre was taken by Rhys, he literally told her that the house was warded and only certain people could come in and out (namely Mor, Rhys, etc.) but that she was “safe”?

Like, is that not the same exact circumstances she was in with Tamlin’s manor (warded as all hell, only he and Lucien could walk in and out, being left in there for her own protection etc)

And let’s not forget the damn force field he locked on her when she was pregnant, enough that Cassian couldn’t even give her a kiss.

Rhys isolated and controlled Feyre’s perception about the world just as much as Tamlin did, he was just more charismatic and deceptive about it. And that’s insidious as fuck, and Feyre fell for it hook line and sinker.

FACTS

Light saying hes bored is often a throwaway line when compared to his pursuit of justice but I can’t help but feel like it seeds all of his actions.

he's bored. He stares out the window in class and yet gets perfect scores. He played tennis for years then quit after winning consecutive titles. He throws himself head over heels for a goal that keeps his mind busy 24/7 until suddenly hes in a cafe with misa with those same dead eyes that stared out of the window and realises he’s bored again without L. He accepts L’s challenge with a fervour we rarely see again and he drowns himself in challenges and tests and games and searching searching playing and for the first time in years feels something real and when he plays tennis again this time he works until he sweats and tells L that he hasn’t had to try this hard in years and I don’t think he just meant tennis. And when L tells him it’ll be lonely he doesn’t believe it because he’s convinced himself the satiation of his boredom came from saving the world but it didn’t, it never did, it came from having an immovable object to counter his unstoppable force and having to push back against a world that seemed to always let him walk through.

he’s bored and he’s lonely and nothing he’s done has lasted long enough to change that because it’s in his nature to perfect and tweak until there aren’t any flaws left to notice. It’s how he acts, his mask.

he wants to struggle because he wants to feel alive because he wants to amount to something and maybe when he’s something he won’t be bored.

When he said that in the epilogue it hit me like a truck because oh my god haymitch 😭🥺

It might be the romantic in me but the contrast between the time when Haymitch reflects on the line from the song "Nothing you can take from me/was ever worth keeping" at the end of Sunrise and he thinks it's an awfully arrogant song because the things (people) he loved the most were just taken away from him by Snow, and the Epilogue, when he remembers it again because he finally understands that he never truly took those things from him entirely, that he found them again in healing, even if it was in a bittersweet way...

It means a lot to me, that this line rings true.

Because as much as Snow tried, he could never really destroy what he sought out to destroy, or at least not completely. He could never destroy the memory of Lucy Gray enough: her mockingbirds still haunted him to the end, the mystery of her still drove him crazy, the shadow of them both in Haymitch and Lenore Dove's and Katniss and Peeta's love, the song he forbid but continued on even son, the family he destroyed a hundred times over just to be taken down by their descendant, even him taking away Peeta's control over his own mind not working in the end because he could never really take the love fro Katniss from him...

And that's not to say tragedy isn't there, it's just to say that love continues to exist even in the face of tragedy. And it makes all the difference in the world that it does.
