BTS’s “Blood Sweat & Tears” Becomes Their 7th MV To Hit 600 Million Views

BTS’s “Blood Sweat & Tears” is now at 600 million views on YouTube! The song is the title track to the group’s second full album “WINGS,” which came out on October 10, 2016. On July 10 KST, it reached 600 million views.

It’s now BTS’s seventh MV to hit the milestone, following “DNA,” “Fire,” “Fake Love,” “Boy With Luv,” “MIC Drop (Remix),” and “IDOL.” The only other Korean artists to reach 600 million views on an MV are PSY and BLACKPINK, and BTS holds the record as the Korean act with the most music videos to do so. Congratulations to BTS!

How Jungkook and Jimin’s relationship is actually a two way street.

I know that some people view or have described their relationship as imbalanced, where one person always seems to do more than the other; however, after that gimbap vlive, I think they’ve made it clear that their relationship is a lot more mature than it was initially.

In a way, they both give and receive in equal measure. It’s mainly a matter of understanding how their needs differ and what exactly they contribute to the relationship that makes their synergy so amazing.

First thing to understand is that what Jimin needs is different from what Jungkook needs. I’ve touched upon this on my previous posts, but Jungkook gives Jimin reassurance and patience. This is a change from when they just debuted. Back then, Jungkook was a lot shyer and there was bound to be a certain level of awkwardness as the maknae so he typically didn’t say much, prefering to just “do”.

Considering how long they’ve all been together and how much they’ve matured, Jungkook is now a lot quicker to offer reassurance, not to mention how much patience he always has towards Jimin. The following is a list of just some noticeable moments from the gimbap vlive alone:

In terms of patience, Jungkook legit told Jimin four times that the ham should be fried in the pan because Jimin had been preoccupied with something else so he wasn’t really listening. He doesn’t once sigh or laugh in disbelief that Jimin still didn’t hear him. You’d think the 4th time he said it was actually the first time by how his tone remained unchanged. On another occasion, Jimin had to confirm with him four times if the fish cakes needed to be cooked. On the fourth time, Jungkook was still just like “yep, they need to be cooked”. Even when Jimin asked questionable questions (i.e. Should the pickled radish be pan fried?), Jungkook just said an easy “no”, without making fun of him.

As for reassurance, when Jimin suddenly realized he forgot to cook an egg for Jungkook, Jungkook only laughed and said that Jimin could do whatever he wanted. He’s also been prone to saying “it’s okay”/“that’s okay”, like when Jimin couldn’t find kitchen towels to wipe the pan or when Jimin told Jungkook the pan was too small to cook the ham properly.

As for Jimin, he gives Jungkook what he’s always given him: a place to be at home. Now this comes in many different ways: the familiarity that comes from their shared hometown, the fact that Jimin is the same age as Jungkook brother (and vice versa), that Jimin always lets Jungkook do whatever he wants (with him, to him, whatever), etc.

This is not saying that Jungkook feels uncomfortable with the other members, not at all. I think it’s clear that he is, it’s just that there’s something about how Jungkook always seems so relaxed when he’s with Jimin. It’s to the point where it’s noticeable, like how he frequently drops the formal speech around Jimin (calling him Jiminie or using banmal), how he’s a lot touchier, and how he jokes around more. It’s almost like he treats Jimin as someone his age rather than someone older than him.

I mean, I think it’s clear that they both equally care for each other, but I’ve noticed some comments here and there about how there always seems to be some kind of inequality. I mean sure, if you want to compare actions, one person might seem to do more (more vocal, more physical, etc) but I don’t think it’s fair to judge based on that. Jimin doesn’t need the same things as Jungkook does and vice versa so it’s actually be more imbalanced if they both did the same thing.

As of right now, all I see is two people who have an extremely deep understanding of each other, and whose relationship can be describe as both comfortable and mature.
