Idk if anyones posted this before, but i have a theory that Jax actually doesn’t want to leave the circus.

He doesn’t complain about the adventures and plays along with Caine’s activities. He is only upset when someone prevents him from causing trouble/having fun.

The only other time we see him upset during an adventure is during Spudsy’s, which is a recreation of a real life scenario. Once Gangle gave the threat of punishment and then training, he stopped misbehaving and became compliant, angry, and dejected. He even opened up a bit to Pomni to try and get any kind of relief from the situation.

Maybe before the circus, Jax lived a similar, crushingly prohibitive life, where he couldn’t do anything without consequences or worrying about the future. In the circus, it’s like an escapist video game fantasy, where nothing matters, you can act without repercussions, and there is no future or obligation to worry about.

I predict that he will be the main villain later on, distracting and preventing the others stuck there from leaving, because that means he would have to leave too. His collecting keys isn’t to find an exit, but to keep it locked away from the others. He distracts from talk about leaving or abstracting. By all means, he seems to be having fun.

I don't think I ever talked about this but I like characterizing pre-Days Axel as depressed as fuck. Most org members are pretty depressed but all of the rest of them either have people to connect to (Marluxia Larxene), care a lot about their job one way or another (1-7), or have hobbies to fill the time (Demyx Luxord). Growing distant from Saïx such that their interactions become more formal every day, Axel has none of those things. After every mission he grabs some ice cream, goes to the clock tower, and watches the sunset.... alone. Thinking his thoughts.

Even after befriending Roxas and Xion, what is the thing he wants to do on his vacation day? Sleep.

I think some of you forgot that autistic people sometimes act strange and say things that are poorly worded and speak with incorrect tone and misunderstand or miss social cues because they are autistic
