I started a little pico reef back right before the new year. Some of the original coral have been moved into my other salt water tank and there have been additions since the initial set up. Overall I’m happy with how it’s going! I started off my saltwater career on hard mode with two tiny tanks haha.

Hi!!

It’s nothing fancy! I don’t remember the exact brand names, but I have one hang on back filter rated for 20-30 gallon tanks and a lil internal filter on the other side of the tank.

With the amount of plants I have, the filters are mostly there for moving the water around haha.

Updates on this tank, the plants are doing great. Hard to capture the red’s vibrancy on my phone. Have to trim constantly!

Thought this would be a fun project - trying all red and pink plants along a white / pink betta. Really happy with how it’s all growing in.

Updates!

The 20 gallon is doing great, just did a trim because…..I set up a lil filterless shrimp bowl! Set ups like that need a ton of fast growing plants, so I added 50+ stems plus floaters.

The 20 gallon Threadfin Rainbowfish tank is coming along great! They’ve had a few babies that survived, wondering how many I’ll end up with.

Just going to start using this as a way to journal my tank’s development on the rack I set up when I moved.

This is just about the two month mark, very happy with how everything is growing in! I got a better light for the saltwater tank, hoping to get a few more easy coral soon.

This is a Casio EG-5. It has a built in cassette deck, so you can do some pretty fun things with it. I’m still getting used to it, still haven’t quite figured out how to best add effects to the guitar chain back into the cassette recorder (as of now there is a decent amount of feedback). Hopefully I can figure out how to make some cool sounds out of this!

Background about this song: it originally was going to be the first part in a 4 part rock opera that was 11 minutes long. I decided to cut it back a bit because I felt each song worked best as its own.

This song is also the start of a story about idealism and murderous robot cyborgs :)

More aquarium updates!

Really committing to the jungle look in the 20 gallon. The rotala is starting to take off beautifully in the 5 gallon. The 29 gallon is basically water sprite world, but the pothos roots are also getting super long.
