A week or two ago you asked for people to ask you anything about tmf and you’d give your opinion on it…And since Liam is my favorite character I now must know what you think about him (in canon and/or fanon if you want) haha.

MY POOKIE I love him, honestly. He may be kind of a loser nerd ("haha!! She saw my donation message >:D") and he may be a bully but I do love him nonetheless

that may be partially because of my personal headcanon that he's not really... actually into the whole bullying thing? I mean, let's be real. If he and Henry never became friends with Drew, they would have been bullied. Liam and Henry both aren't really as serious about bullying, they just make silly comments to back up Drew. Which, no, I'm not saying that's okay in the SLIGHTEST. Whatever someone's intentions are, or however badly they bully someone, it's still not okay. I'm just saying, I don't think they actually really think that badly of the music club

Because of Liam and Henry seeming less angry at Jake when he apologized, saying "Thanks for being honest" and all that jazz, I feel like they could get a redemption. I'm not sure how things will go between the Dromies, whether Drew will get angry at the other two or whether the other two will agree with him on everything, but I know there will absolutely be some good drama (trauma)

Halia is actually such a good ship. I haven’t thought about it a lot until recently (until I saw the post of yours that I reblogged) but it’s already caused me so much sweet sweet anguish and I adore it

Two girls who were bullied together, who comforted each other through extreme hardships and insecurity and everything. They would talk for hours on end, share so many secrets. Then, as they both begin to see each other as more than friends, Lia is ripped away by Zoey, who manipulated Lia into believing that being on the bully’s side is better. Hailey is horribly distraught, and has to accept that her once best friend is now one of her bullies

This ship is so, so beautifully devastating. I really hope they’ll become close in season 2, and we’ll get to know more about their past friendship. Lia genuinely wants to be better and I think she and Hailey could become friends again, possibly

but then there’d be no angst…

straying from my usual tmf content but KENMA AND HINATAS RIVALRY OH MY GOD. It's SO good. The drawing of them both holding knives to each other's necks really encapsulates the feeling of their relationship. GAGAGGGGGAA I LOVEEE RIVALRIESSS

I have to say though, that moment in the movie where all the music stopped, and Kenma was shrouded in shadows, and said "keep being interesting" and Hinata jumped back like a threatened animal was uhm... interesting to say the least. Still loved the movie though!! But how the hell are they going to include ALL of the rest of the manga in only ONE more movie? Praying that they'll include Akaashi's cute lil breakdown and do it WELL

Zander. Guys. Some of you just don’t GET HIM. I have ranted about this a million times and I will rant about it again. Zander has trust issues, and he’s generally cynical. The episode that was based around mostly him was CALLED Trust Issues (episode 2). This guy has childhood trauma. His dad either up and left without warning, or was awful enough for Shannon to file for divorce. Either way, that definitely impacts Zander’s ability to trust people, because he’s been hurt in the past by someone he trusted, or should have been able to trust.

So when Jake, someone who’s been bullying Zander and Hailey for a long time, someone who Zander wouldn’t have ever trusted in the first place, comes along and tries to join a safe space, Zander is obviously upset. Nobody wants their safe place to be invaded by someone who deliberately hurts them every single day.

In episode 11, he convinced Hailey not to trust Jake again. Zander gave Jake one chance to prove he was trustworthy, and Jake failed to do so. Zander’s trust was broken, and it’s understandable, especially with his past, that he wouldn’t forgive Jake.

Now… the fan content… how they portray Zander… I have to admit, I watch tmf reaction videos on the regular. It’s my strange addiction 💀 but with watching every single video comes seeing the ones that mischaracterize the HELL out of Zander. I’m sure this happens in other types on fan content as well. So many people will make Zander completely heartless, devoid of any empathy, even when being shown that Jake is SUICIDAL. What. Guys. He’s a person as well, yk? Just because he was mad at Jake for breaking his trust, and for doing something that Zander very clearly told him would get him kicked out, doesn’t mean that he’s not going to care if Jake is struggling like that. Zander cares about people, even if he comes off as cynical, rude, and harsh

People need to STOP mischaracterizing him!!

I will always personally like Hailey more than Drew

For me personally, I find that the character who's a victim of bullying is much more loveable to me than the bully is. Because we all have to admit, that despite headcanons, despite the fact Drew brought up some good points in the Drakeup, Drew is still a bully, and he has been since middle school. He's not an innocent angel, and he simply just decided to drop Jake once Jake became fully himself. Drew's judgemental and genuinely not a good person, and I think some people forget that. Of course, liking an antagonist or a character who's not a good person is completely okay!! The issue is when you try to justify the antagonists bad behaviour, and oh man, have I seen people do that with Drew. I don't care if he has family issues, is insecure, has mental health issues, or anything like that (in this context, obviously I would still feel bad for him if he was facing such struggles), it doesn't justify his behaviour. The bottom line is, bullying isn't okay in any context (unless it's like a p3do or smth... in that case go crazy!!)

And there's more to me loving Hailey than the fact she's a bullying victim. Contrary to popular opinion, but I love how Hailey is so sensitive. I know people say she has "y/n moments" and that she's overdramatic, but honestly, there's nothing wrong with being sensitive. Sensitive people always try their best to be kind, despite how exhausting life is, being the way they are. Being hyper-sensitive is like walking around without your skin on, and the littlest thing can hurt you on a big scale. So hypersensitive people will try their best to make sure other people don't feel as awful as they often do. Also, Hailey always makes amends in situations where she did something wrong, or situations where someone needs to be forgiven (unlike Drew). Not saying everyone has to forgive everything, but she's very mature in that sense. The day after arguing with Drew, after she was provoked and repeatedly bothered and lashed out as a result of it, she apologized to Jake for getting angry. What apology was offered by the Dromies for barging in and provoking Hailey? None. And in episode 10, Hailey was genuinely considering talking to him about what he'd said, because she didn't think he actually believed what he'd said. But then Zander (oh, so cynical and traumatized, I love him) convinced her to think otherwise. However, she still clearly wanted to make amends with Jake. And when she did, she said she didn't regret letting Jake into the club, and that she forgave him. SLAYYY SLAYYYYYY!! Also wanna add I see people acting like bullies when talking about Hailey. I get not everyone is snowflake like me but come on guys... did you miss the plot of the show?

Y’all, the amount of videos I’ve seen where Henry is just a cute, sensitive little guy who hides behind Liam and is extremely shy makes me… ugh. He’s a bully, he’s extroverted, and somewhat overconfident with the way he seems to expect Lia to like him. People baby him just because of, what, his height? trembles... you KNOW HOW TO MAKE ME WANT TO YAP. Hey guys, they actually can have a complex relationship and not just be cute little gay couple cute lil pb&j COME ON GANG But also, can I blame them? No, I really can't. Because when a ship has no complexity in the show, it makes it easy to boil them down to just a cute couple who do cute things sometimes and that's it. Zander might have some complexity on his own, that's true, but Luke... ohhhh Luke. It feels like Luke is simply just an accessory, a plot device so that there could be a storyline about romance. We've heard nothing about his family, he almost never has scenes on his own, and he doesn't often express his own thoughts. The most emotion we got out of him other than contentedness and anger at Jake was in episode four when he was siiiiiiiiiiggggggggggghhhhhhhhhing every 5 seconds because of Zander. The ONLY feelings we see him have are almost ALWAYS related to Zander. Aside from, again, anger at Jake. Now, I have seen the idea that he thinks his only purpose is to be Zander's bf, and that's a reason to give him depth. I get where that's coming from, but I doubt Rosy gave Luke a lack of depth with that in mind. I mean, it could be possible. But I doubt it. I think it's more just bad character writing ALSO. Episode 5, I have to say... really could have been better. Stacy doing all of the cliche things to get Luke to help her with her books, KISSING HIM WITHOUT CONSENT?? I get that part was just so Zander could walk in on them kissing and not just talking, since that would have been a lot less dramatic, but come on guys... you don't kiss a guy without asking and THEN confess to him. And then the Lander confession itself was... eh. It was cliche and not something we haven't seen before. Some of the things they said seemed robotic and forced ("I thought you only saw me as a childhood friend!" just say friend..) and the kiss at the end was, again, NON CONSENSUAL. I get that Rosy has much imrpoved in her writing since episodes 4 and 5, but I still want to complain about it. As a Luke kin I LOVE yapping about Lander, bc I love them and am desperate for them to get more depth <33

Not because of any particular tmf character… or anything… not because of a character who is SOO REAAALL AND LITERALLY ME or anything… I am not on my FOURTH REWATCH of the Elliot spin-off series WITHIN THREE DAYS or anything… I have NOT watched the I Have No Friends music video EIGHT TIMES or anything…
