In a bit of meta fun that's specifically for me, I'm putting the player characters of my "Stop the Far Realm apocalypse" Spelljammer game on the trajectory of a place called Firestorm Peak...
...as in "The Gates of Firestorm Peak", aka the old module that first introduced the Far Realm into D&D.

Tonight in my Spelljammer campaign focused on a Far Realm universal invasion:
The players discovered that a beloved city leader used a ritual circle to draw Mind flayers to her city. She's a Warlock of Hadar. In the circle, written in Deep Speech, they found a word: "Aklo."
I'm not putting Cthulhu and friends there. It would be a bit too banal, I could do it in my sleep. So I'm going for D&D Far Realm beings, plus the Eldrazi.
But you can bet I'll have fun with Cosmic Horror tropes & references. "Aklo" in this case being THE original, purest Far Realm Deep Speech.
The twist players don't know is that the warlock's acting as distraction.
Her patron demanded it, but only because another illithid faction who believes the key to the Grand Design lies in the Far Realm needs others mind flayers to be elsewhere while they open a portal through a tortured Elder Brain.

"My life is but a distant memory. My honor lasts eternal"
I've a thing I'm holding very close to my heart. Every now and then I write bits about it. Quotes, lore snippets. Perhaps someday they'll turn into something else. Might make a thread about it, adding every now and then.
