"'Waste of time'." Sephiroth said after a short pause. "'Complete disappointment'. 'Let down'. 'Thorn in my side'. 'Useless asset'. 'Spoiled brat'. 'Glorified pawn'. 'Sorry excuse for a SOLDIER.'"

The list would go on much longer, but the truth was Sephiroth had drowned that voice out by now. He no longer listened to what Hojo had to say. His respect for the man had been ran into the ground.

"It doesn't matter what you do. If he decides he's having a bad day, he'll call you anything he feels like. So stop crying over yourself."

'Doctor' The word seemed too kind for what Hojo was. No, he was something else, something Tiamatt did not have a word for what that man was. Tilting her head to look at the boy beside her, she frowned. "Easy for you to say... I beat he doesn't call you a failure." Hiding her face once more, her next words were mumbled. "If I'm such a failure, then why doesnt help let me go? Im sure anything would be better then that stupid room and that stupid lab."

The sudden declaration had Sephiroth open his eyes with a confused blink. Not many managed to get him this stumped anymore, and at first he felt strangely uncomfortable. As if by sitting next to her he'd been made the accomplice of some severe infraction of the rules.

He was quiet at first, lips pressed into a thin line, and listened to Tiamatt's predicament while inside, he wondered what he should even do or say to her.

But it wasn't like she was his responsibility to handle, either. That awareness somehow comforted him, at least. If she were to get in trouble, it'd be by her own doing.

That was his reasoning, anyway.

"That's just Dr. Hojo. Why bother giving him power by caring about his opinion of you?" He said at last, looking at her intently. "He's not even a good scientist. His position was given to him after one of the greatest minds on Gaia left the company. He's no better than a spare wheel. So what if he thinks you are a failure?"

Tiamatt continued to frown at the wristband. Sure, it was just a 30 minute reminder to return to the labs, but now that she was out... "I don't want to go back." It was a loud whisper, defiance laced in those words. But what good would it do? She knew today was a test, to see if she could be trusted to return when called. Defying the schedule and order could mean having this small amount of freshly found freedom revoked.

Looking once more at the broken machines, she exhaled through her nose and kicked at the ground. "He won't be happy I wasn't able to get in the sims either. There's no winning."

Taking a step, she spun on her heels before slumping into the seat next to Sephiroth. The young girl pulled her knees up to her chest, burying her head into her arms. "I don't even know why they want me to do all this. He already calls me a failure."
