I agree that this class taught me how to write for specific audiences! I think that the design aspects of the projects definitely help with learning creativity aspects! Good luck with your future projects!
Appreciating Web Writing
What do you appreciate most about your learning about web writing?
When it comes to learning about web writing, the thing I appreciate the most is learning how involved web writing as a whole is. Before this class, I never knew how much went into creating the perfect post. Content creators have to adapt their content to each and every platform that they choose to use. Content creators also have to design every post so that it meets the cultural standards of their follows and the users of the specific platforms. Overall, before this class I thought that content creators (or other web writers) just make a post, then post it. I never knew how involved web writing could be.

Learning about content strategy was one thing I really took home from this class as well. I feel like this class taught me so much organization in drafting and just becoming a better writer for specific audiences. I definitely relate to your thoughts about web writing! I wish you luck as you progress in your studies!
Original Content Writing
where will you adjust your writing process based on your experiences in this class?
I've always had a very similar writing process that I always turned to when tackling any significant literature task for the past few years. It's a very niche and relatively somewhat unorganized process that has always just worked for me. But as I've written In this class I have realized its flaws. I found this year, out of the many things we learned, the two most valuable skills in my opinion were content strategy and rhetorical situation. These two methods seem to be pretty universal in the way they can be used In any writing situation and I plan to try and permanently add these as apart writing process.

Most proud of...
I feel like this course really helped me to improve my writing and become a faster writer. After learning how to properly draft essays and writing assignments, I was able to get my initial thoughts down on paper, then go back and revise. I am most proud of my Research Paper I wrote this semester for my Art History class, Women In Art. learning more about web writing helped me score extremely well and get selected to present at Made in Millersville. I was able to understand audience types and how to properly formulate a presentation and a visual analysis. I learned how to write more descriptively in this class and I think that is what made these opportunities happen. I am so thankful for this course and proud of the hard work I have put in.

I appreciated while learning about web writing, how creative it is. I am a very artistically driven person. I do better with the arts, being active, problem solving, and English than I ever have with science and math. This course really supported my creativity in all the freedom that we had and I was able to express my person touch in every project. I really enjoyed learning about content strategy and discourse community because I am trying to grow my fitness account and I hope it skyrockets this summer with having more available time on my hands. I will always remember this course and all of the things that I was able to learn and apply to my other studies and concentrations. It has helped me to learn language styles for different audiences as well which was really important, since addressing audience types is necessary when talking to different groups. I also really liked that this form of writing did not always need to be professional.

I really thought about this question, and I feel like adjusting my language and style has been one of the best things I have learned in this course. I really enjoyed the last module on adjusting writing styles depending on if the post was from an angry fan or from a professional in the field of movie production. This helped me to explore creative writing styles and will help me in my future in my career and also for posting on social media. I plan to write differently and use a different style in my career as an art therapist and also in my social media postings. In a professional setting, it is smart to use a more professional form of writing and when we utilize writing for personal endeavors, audiences usually want to hear raw and unfiltered information. I can’t wait for the summer so I can better apply my knowledge to my social media account and get better at understanding content strategy.

Thursday Check in (week 15)
I plan to pursue a career in Art Therapy in the future, I am just wondering if you have any advice on how web writing skills apply to this profession. I want to accurately answer the questions for the assignment.
I was researching what art therapists do, and I saw that they can create open-ended prompts for patients to answer. I think that I can answer these prompts by thinking about the creative and writing elements that go into the profession. I can combine psychology and creative processes of art to help patients express emotions and improve their mental health. Having a lot of design elements in the projects over all the modules will also support my answers.

Dr. P game (week 14)
I will use my own design for one of my posts to answer the prompt:
The design choices I made in this post are found with the bold text, red text, and layering. The bold text and capilization on "favorite show" and the word "Not" both create hierarchy and draw the viewers eye to these mainpoints.
Having the words "notice" and "not" both in red text emphasizes that viewers should pay attention and stop and read. The word not emphasizes that the show will not have a new season.
Having the text layered over an image from the show helps viewers or audience members of the show recognize familiar scenes and tie this to the important message.

I have never heard of the show, but it sounds pretty interesting! It's such a shame when shows don't get another season, and you are left wondering how the characters will develop or how issues will be resolved. I think since you have experienced you own form of loss in a TV series,s this could definitely help you in making the fake posts for the project! Since you have already wrote the posts out try and add visual appeal too! You could use your own sense of loss and incorporate it into the "fans'" loss for their favorite show through your own reaction projected. You could also use different post formatting, such as memes, text-only posts, (story posts if you can), visual posts with characters, or shots from the show.
I AI-generated images for my visuals!

One of my favorite shows called Cruel Intentions was cancelled after just 1 season! It was on Amazon Prime and was based off of the 90s movie with the same name! The series followed a set of twisted step siblings who were greek life royalty at their university. I highly recommend if you like good drama tv! I don’t understand why it wasn’t renewed for season 2! My roommates and I are all obsessed.

I have never watched Cobra Kai, but I hear people rave about it! I was unaware that it got cancelled. I feel like audiences need to know about the cancellations of shows. I am especially surprised since I do watch some shows in a similar genre. This sense of loss for the show should definitely help you to create the posts for the assignment! Having a personal experience of sadness or negative emotions you felt when the show was just left can be tied to the "fans" of "favorite show".
I hope that you find a new show soon to watch with your family!

Share an example of your experience as a fan of a show that was canceled.
I loved a show called “Cobra Kai.” There were six seasons, and it was a fantastic show. After the sixth season, the show was canceled. They did end it with finished stories; however, I really wanted more! This show brought my family together, as every week when a new episode came out, we would all sit and watch it together. It gave me common ground, especially with my son, as we bonded over this show. It became an emotional attachment for me, and when it ended, I felt a sense of loss. We haven’t yet found a new show that my whole family likes to watch together.

Hi! I'm not sure if you've had a chance to discuss your show choice with Dr. P or received feedback on Part 1 yet. But I wanted to clarify that for this assignment, we're supposed to create an entirely original show, not use any names or elements from existing ones.
The show we make up should be titled "Favorite Show" (without referencing any real titles). You're totally welcome to keep a similar genre or storyline for inspiration, but it should be a fictional creation.
Since we’re publicly posting our "made-up" content on a real platform like Tumblr, it's important we avoid using real shows to prevent confusion for viewers or any issues with the actual series. Let me know if you need help brainstorming something original! 😊

One of my favorite TV shows right now is The Hunting Party on Peacock, and it’s also the one I chose for my design project. What I love about it is how it creates such a tight-knit fanbase—people are really invested in the characters, the mystery, and especially all the hidden clues. That level of obsession has definitely helped me understand the concept of “angry fandom.”

Although, unfortunately, the show you liked got cancelled, it must have made this project a lot easier for you. I think it is crazy that shows get cancelled and left on cliffhangers! It sounded really interesting, too! Maybe you can incorporate some of the negative emotions you had when finding out about the cancellation of the show into the fake posts you are creating for the show you made for the project. It is unfortunate, but it probably provided you with some personal input and experience.

Share an example of your experience as a fan of a show that was cancelled. Help us feel the feels.
A few years ago I watched a show called Archive 81 on Netflix. It was about an archivist who was hired to restore tapes from the 90’s. He ends up finding crazy stuff and ends up getting cult-ish. I was so into this show and was recommending it to everyone. It ended up on a cliff hanger right at the climax of the show. Then it got cancelled…. I was so upset because i kept thinking about the ending and how there was no conclusion and no explanation…
The show runner ended up giving some information on where the show was supposed to go in the next season which was nice, but it doesn’t fill that hole for me..

These are a few of the posts I have created. I just would like some feedback on whether I should change anything or if they are effective. It's hard for me to ask for specific help, but feel free to leave any comments or opinions! Or if anyone needs some inspo!
Also, if anyone is creating comment replies, how are you creating this realistically?

My favorite show and how it helps me with the project:
One of my favorite shows is Shameless. While doing this project and making up angry fan posts. I thought about the anger that I would have if Shameless just ended after the first season. Shameless is not really a suspenseful life-or-death show like mine is, but just like any show, characters have dynamics, and they don't fully fulfill character roles. Shameless has many main characters and throughout all the seasons, they continue to grow and become new people. In the show, I created the character's face so much trauma, but fans never get to see the outcome. Having a show I like helps me to understand the frustration of fans of a cancelled series because of the strong emotions they have toward character dynamics and roles.

Thursday Check-in (Week 14)
Questions:
What is the web writing pivoting guide? I saw this mentioned once.
I am also wondering if our Audience analysis should be very thorough or kept simple to focus mainly on the posts?
My last question is, should we upload our posts separately or in our doc with the analysis and information about our show?

a good design in the real world...
I believe water bottle filler-fountains such as these are a great design. The water fillers are touch-free and have automatic motion sensor filling. This way, no one's personal bottles come in cross-contact with others.

I love that you tie the trauma of the characters in with how the audience feels in connection to Bex. My show also involves the characters experiencing trauma, and how the cancellation makes the audience angry because of this emotional connection. I think this is a great idea for your show, and it sounds very feasible. I like that you did something else but a cliffhanger, and your characters just want more in-depth character experiences and hate that boring suspense that should eventually happen if the show had continued. Best of luck, this sounds awesome, cannot wait to hear more!

2. Share a show detail that is upsetting your audience:
One upsetting detail for many viewers is how The Hunting Party introduces intense psychological stakes but often resolves them too quickly. The escaped killers have fascinating backstories, but the weekly format sometimes limits the depth they could have. In particular, some fans feel the trauma experienced by Bex, the main character, is glossed over or used mainly for plot advancement rather than real emotional development. Her past with Oliver is teased as important but lacks satisfying payoff in early episodes. It leaves viewers feeling like there’s a disconnect between what the show says it’s about and how it actually handles emotional consequences. This lack of character depth frustrates fans who are craving more than just surface-level suspense.

Your show sounds similar to mine in that the characters develop emotional storylines and need to find trust in one another. I think that this is important in a show since the charatcers need something to rely on, for your shows cancellation you could even mention how auidence members deeply connected to the characters through their own development and storylines and this is leaving them upset since they demand to see how their character plays out and how they develop. Best of luck!

Share a genre detail that will resonate with your audience
A genre detail that will resonate with my audience is that the show features intense cases, emotional storylines, and extensive character stories. The audience is especially interested in the main characters and their relationships.
