For those of you who don’t have the time, spoons, attention span, etc. to watch the 55-minute video Bethany uploaded, here’s a summary: Bethany opens by saying that her DMs are open for anyone to come talk to her if they’re experiencing a similar situation to hers. If anyone wants me to link the social medias she listed please let me know.

Bethany and her siblings went through a lot of religious pressure as a child, with very sexist ideals. She was very sheltered and not allowed to make friends other than her siblings because they didn’t meet the standards of her parents (standards like no body hair, no earrings, no makeup, etc.). She and Cierra were forced to do all of the chores while their brothers did none.

She felt ashamed for being a woman and ashamed of her body. She was unable to express her opinions, or her personal likes and dislikes, especially clothing-wise. She feared that if she did she would be abandoned by her family - the only support system she had at the time.

She talks about how she disagrees with the homophobia, sexism, individuality, lack of cultural respect and respect for other religions that she was raised with in her heavily Christian household.

She talks about being terrified to talk to people in real life, and how her being so intensely sheltered growing up makes her feel unprepared to deal with the world as an adult now. She viewed marriage as her one escape as a child, a chance for freedom.

She briefly mentions molestation being involved but does not want to talk in-depth about it. Please respect her wishes.

She talks about how her body was heavily sexualized to the point of wearing even just jeans and a t-shirt was considered, in her words, slutty. Anything that showed that she had any sort of feminine figure was seen as whore-like, and she was constantly told that her body would be seen as an object of desire for simply existing in it. She has intense body issues because of it now. Near the end of the video she says that she was also called fat for gaining any weight. She says she’s been rediscovering herself recently, allowing herself to discover who she really is.

She also mentions how recently she’s been struggling with suicidal thoughts and depression because of these events, along with religious guilt because of her mental health struggles.

Bethany explains that she was trapped in an unhealthy long-distance relationship with her ex-fiance, who she had only met in person once for a week. She also mentions her new boyfriend and online friends who are a proper support system for her, who don’t require her to meet arbitrary standards.

She says her family sort of “disowned” Cierra, and that no one would talk to her, and that eventually she realized it was because she differed from their beliefs. This led her to ask if they would stop talking to her as well if she disagreed.

She says despite her deep connection to her brothers, especially Isaac, they both told her that yes, they would disown her as well.

Afterward, she reached out multiple times, only to be told that they wouldn’t hang around her as friends, only if she needed help with something or “to witness” (if anyone understands what she means by this please let me know. She uses it multiple times during her video).

She says a little more at the end but that’s essentially the key points of the video.

Here are some personal opinions of mine about this situation. This is just me talking about my own personal feelings, so feel free to skip it.

I want everyone to remember that all of these siblings are victims in this situation. A person does not do things like this without a reason. I am in no way excusing Isaac and Jordan’s behavior, it’s awful to hear something like this was happening without me realizing, and looking back I can connect dots I didn’t even see before. I also want to mention that I personally was traumatized by Bethany. Being a victim of abuse does not excuse her actions, but I now realize that maybe they weren't even hers to begin with, at least not fully. It seems that her actions were heavily controlled in her household, so in light of this news, I think I may be on the road to forgiving her. Not fully, I don’t think I could ever really do that, but I can at least move on a little easier.

I hope Bethany and Cierra are doing well during this very hard time of separating from a toxic family, and I hope their futures are brighter and healthier. I hope Jordan and Isaac own up to their actions and realize their toxic behaviors and better themselves. I hope they get out as well. It hurts so much to think that the people I looked up to so much as a child have done something like this to their own sisters.

Screams echoed across the hallways, floorboards creaked under the weight of the pale man. He stumbled and tripped but he didn’t stop, not for a second. You see, said man was Fred Spooker, a PIE trainee. He wasn’t the best ghost hunter, but he was pretty determined to show that he was worth something. However, at this moment, all his mind could scream was “RUN” because a level 8 entity was chasing him.

Spooker huffed and panted as his combat boots hit the floor. He kept running, keeping his eyes trained ahead of him. His shriek bounced off the walls as an arm wrapped around his leg, tugging him backwards and causing him to trip and fall. The young male hissed in pain as he felt claws ripping at his skin. He inched forwards on his elbows, dragging himself away from the creature. He grunted as he collapsed in the corner, shuffling so his back was against the wall.

The rookie felt tears run down his face as the creature crawled around the room, just out of sight but making shuffling noises. Spooker sniffed and pulled his leg closer to his chest, using his arm to wipe a wet patch on his cheek, he didn’t know if it was blood or tears but it didn’t seem like it would matter for much longer. His auburn hair fell into his face as he looked at the trail of blood his leg must have left, though he was to scared to check his leg.

He gasped as a huge monster slithered out of the shadows and towered over him, black liquid dripping from wounds on its body. Fred found himself staring into the place where it’s eyes would be, but it seemed like they had been ripped out. He shivered at the thought of it and curled himself further into his body, holding back a sob as pain filled his leg and arm. He waited for the creature to attack.

A loud bang echoed the room and the sound of something hitting the floor. Spooker carefully opened his left eye staring at the creature who had once towered over him. It lay on the floor, hissing and struggling before a cement brick was dropped on its head. Fred let his eyes trail up after a second, only to be met with the dark brown ones of his coworkers.

“Colon” he whispered, his voice broken as he moved his leg out again. “Fred! Are you okay?” He asked, dropping to his knees in front of the hunched up male. Fred shook his head, tears falling down his face once more. He felt the stabbing pain in his arm and leg come back once more. He hissed as Colon placed a hand on his shoulder. “Sorry man!” Colon blurted, pulling his hand from Spookers shoulder.

The green-eyed man cried harder as he thought awful things. He thought about how pathetic it was that he had to be saved, how the hell was he supposed to prove he was qualified to be a ghost hunter if he couldn’t even beat one ghost? “Fred? Buddy?” He snapped back into reality at the sound of his crushes voice. “I’m such a failure Chris” he muttered, choking back tears.

The older male looked at him in surprise, he had never heard Spooker talk lowly of himself, he was always positive and optimistic. “What!? No you aren’t!” Colon yelled, apologizing as Spooker winced at the loud noise. “But I can’t even defeat one ghost!” He cried, pulling his knees back to his chest. “Fred…” Chris said sadly, moving closer to Spooker “that was a level 8! It’s super hard to defeat those!”.

Spooker nodded, “thanks” he said, putting a smile back on and reaching up to hug Colon. “We should get out of here before that thing resurrects” Chris said, pointing at the creature that he had dropped a brick on. “Yea” Fred laughed, pushing himself up and leaning on Chris. “Thanks Chris! Love ya” Spooker said grinning. “Love you too!” Colon replied, walking away with Spooker. Smiles on both their faces.

Ghost sighed, his fingers tapping against his phone in a pattern, trying to beat a game. He and Toast, who he had recently started dating, were sat on the couch. They were both still a little awkward about it, Ghost being even more so because he’d never had a relationship before.

About two hours later Ghost was still tapping on his phone, his grip tightening as he lose the incredibly addicted game. Some random movie was playing on tv, and from what Ghost had caught of it, was a very cliché love story. Toast however seemed interested, occasionally making small comments.

The air around them was a little tense, but not as bad as it had been the first day they admitted their feelings. To be fair, Ghost did want to be more… romantic? He just didn’t know how to initiate anything without looking stupid. After a couple more minutes Ghost gave into his thoughts. He shifted his body a little so that he’d be closer to Toast, and prayed he didn’t notice and think it was weird.

Toast obviously picked up on the movement, and was a little surprised. He had given Ghost space, not knowing what would make him freak out and have a panic attack or yell as he did when people got too touchy. Deciding to test the waters a little, he subtly slung his arm around Ghosts shoulders. The younger tensed for a minute before relaxing into the touch.

After another long, dreadful hour of the awful movie playing Ghost was almost fully leaning into Toast, his limbs weak and a tired expression on his face. “You okay?” His partner asked, concerned. “Fine” Ghost muttered looking up. However, as Ghost looked up Toast was about to press a kiss to his forehead.

As you can guess, their lips touched for a brief second before Ghost shot backwards in surprise. Toast stared, wide-eyed, mouth open a little in shock. “I’m so sorry!” He blurted, shaking his head to recover from the surprise. Ghost stared “it’s okay” he choked out, coughing and clearing his throat, he feared that if he coughed anymore his heart would spring out of his throat.

He felt his heartbeat a million times a second and his face go red. He risked looking up and caught Toasts eye, the elders face was almost as red as his and he looked a little worried. “It’s not I really didn’t mean to! Like it’s not that I don’t want to kiss you or anything but I don’t want to rush you because you can take your time and I won’t mind!” The Brit rambled, scared that he had just messed up their relationship.

“You’d kiss me!?” Ghost asked in surprise, he’d thought about them kissing sure, but for some reason he never really thought they would do it. “Well, yea?” Toast said unsurely, calming down a little “do you want me to?”. Ghosts eyes-widened even more at the offer. After a minute of trying to wrap his head around the fact that his not-official-boyfriend-but-kinda-official-boyfriend offered to kiss him. He nodded, at a lose for words.

Toast scooted closer to him, gently moving his hand to Ghosts cheek. He searched the brunettes eyes for any sign of discontent, but moved a little closer when he found none. After a couple of awkward glances and shuffling Toast leaned down and planted a kiss on Ghosts lips. Ghost tried his best to mimic what Toast did, but was mostly frozen due to shock. Kissing actually felt really nice, it didn’t feel like bright fireworks, it felt like a warm fireplace and nice music and being clam.

And while Ghost was anything but clam, the feeling soothed him as he moved closer to the older male and wrapped his arms around his neck. They tried their best to do well, but they were both pretty inexperienced save for Toast having a few serious relationships and Ghost having a couple flings. Eventually they pulled away for air, both with red faces and lips that held small smiles. “Wow” Ghost muttered, moving back a little to lie against the armrest. “Wow.” Toast repeated, grinning.
