Hello friends,

I put myself on maternity leave for the last 4ish months to have my baby and get through the hard part of a newborn. Now that we’re all more adjusted and he’s on a really good schedule I will be coming out of my hiatus. It’s going to be slow updates because I have another blog I run as well with a fanfiction in process and another original book series of my own I am also working on and I’m also the primary caretaker of my baby since I’m a stay at home mom. I won’t give any dates for the next chapter of trapping a gemstone or my other Gideon story I’m working on as well but they are both currently being worked on in the free time I get during the day.

I just became a mom and I really hate how it feels like my husbands family is only validating how tired he is like I didn’t just spend 40+ hours in labor and then 2 and half excruciating hours of pushing with a total of 3 hours of sleep only to come home and get 5 hours of sleep afterwards and THEN still add up all the hours of the past 72 hoursnat home and only have 8 hours of total sleep because even when it’s my turn to sleep I have to wake up every two hours to pump for 30mins to an hour. My husband is incredibly helpful, like truly he does a lot. Like a lot but he gets to sleep more. it just feels like when he says “I’m tired” he’s made to feed validated and I can’t even complain.

Any way sorry the update of trapping a gemstone is late. The last stretch of my pregnancy took me out and now well I’m tired

Trapping a Gemstone Pt 1

"That's a wrap!" shouted the director. The sound of clapping and cheers filled the studio as we celebrated. I smiled at the various castmates and crew members while we exchanged a few “great jobs” and “thank yous”  as I passed by everyone on my way to my trailer. The movie ended up taking longer than originally planned to finish and I’m eager to head home. I brought my bags to set today so I could grab them and immediately head to the airport.

My daughter is attending a summer camp on the other side of the country in Georgia. I decided it would be better for her to be around kids her age and spend some time outdoors rather than hang out with me on set for the summer. 

I was supposed to be done and home by now, but the filming took longer than anticipated. So instead of celebrating with the crew tonight, I’ll be on a flight out of here.

I sent an email to my assistant, Luke, whom I sent home yesterday to begin coordinating. I need him to send me my flight details and give me an update on the party planning. I know, it seems like a lot to have a party when she’s only been gone a month and a half but she’s never been away from home long without at least one family member with her. It’s always been me and her since her dad and I split when she was a baby, so this is a big deal for us.

Trinity’s POV

15 hours earlier

“Are you sure this is a good idea?” I asked the girl sitting in front of me. “YES” she shouted in reply “Trinity, the only way we are going to pull this off is if we cut your bangs!”

“Okay okay, just do it Serenity,” I said squeezing my eyes shut as I heard the scissors cut my hair.

“Perfect,”  she grinned, holding the mirror up. I opened my eyes to see my reflection staring back at me, but now sporting a brand new fringe. 

I pulled at the freshly cut hair  “woah, how do you deal with this every day? They’re annoying already.”

“Eh” she shrugged while turning around to put everything away “it’s a fashion statement I believe in. If Sabrina Carpenter does it every day, then so can I,”  she paused for a second and turned to look back at me “and now you”.

“Okay!” I called out  “Quiz me one more time to make sure I’ve got everyone down” 

Serenity plopped down and pulled out her ipad  “alrighty girl, who is this?” 

She showed a picture of an older man with glasses. “That is great-granddad Eli” 

“Correct!” She beamed “Now who are they?” 

“That’s Uncle Kelvin and Keef”.

“Right again!”

We went through the rest of the Gemstone family tree and the close acquaintances I’d need to be familiar with to blend in.

“Last one! Who’s this?” 

She showed me a picture of the one I’ve been waiting 13 years to meet “Gideon Gemstone–Dad” I smiled at it. 

“Sooooo” Serenity started, “what exactly is mom like?” 

My–our mom– is a famous actress. Y/F/N Y/L/N “Mom is amazing” I told her “She’s so smart and so talented it's beyond me. She is an incredibly hard worker but will always make the time to joke around or just hang out. She’s the most dependable person I know”.

“I can’t wait to meet her” Serenity replied “If it wasn’t for Dad, Gigi (Amber, I feel like she would so be a Gigi)  and Granddad  (Eli) I feel like I wouldve ended up like Aunt Judy or Papa Jesse. Dad has always been chill and down to earth despite the Gemstone lifestyle.”

“I’m right there with you” The both of us started getting ready for bed “The great thing is the two of us finally meet them tomorrow” I added while crawling into bed.

She rolled over in her bed to face me “Who knew that this random summer camp would’ve brought me my long-lost twin” 

“I’m happy we met” I yawned drifting off. Tomorrow will be a big day for us

“Here’s my phone, Mom’s assistant, Luke, will be waiting at the airport to pick you up. He’s not super chatty BUT he will give you a huge hug so just be prepared for that” I warned Serenity.

“Yes, yes. We’ve been over this” she laughed “here’s my phone, the jet will be waiting for you the car will drive you right up to it so you dont have to worry about checking in or anything. You think you can handle it?” 

“I don’t think it’s me you should be worried about, have you ever flown on a regular plane? It might be first class but still” I laughed at her.  

She gave me a big hug “My privilege is going to show but I am terrified to fly commercial”

I squeezed her “it’s going to be okay, you can use the wi-fi to text me if you get scared” 

“I’ll miss you Trinny” 

“I’ll miss you, too Renny but we’ll see each other in a few weeks” 

Your POV

“Oh my God my baby is going to be here any minute!” I shout running around my room. I thought I had enough time to take a shower but Luke texted me saying Trinity’s flight got in early and they’ll be home.

I wasn’t even dressed yet, I had my robe on still and my hair is still in the towel. I was looking for clothes when I heard the alarm ding alerting us that the front door opened.

“Trinity!!!!!!” Our family call out to her .

“shit” I muttered as I threw the pants in my hands on the floor. I took the towel off my head and began speed walking downstairs.

I saw my parents smothering her in a hug and when they let go we made eye contact “TRINNY BABY!!!!!! You cut your hair?!” I shouted as I ran towards her.

“Hey Mom” she sighed as I wrapped my arms around her “I’m so happy to see you.”

"Me too, babydoll, me too” I replied “I totally love the hair by the way”.

So an update, I do plan on writing the fic in my blurb, I swear. I fell into a bit of a depressive episode and then to add the cherry on top, my engagement ended and then the episode got way worse. I lost my creative flow for writing stories and it’s starting to come back. So for anyone who was looking forward to my Gideon fic, it will be coming.

Update..again. I had bronchitis that took forever to go away but I’m healthy again!!!! I’m gonna give myself til Friday night to have it uploaded—gotta fix it up and and edit it. Sorry for the delay for the 3 people who may have been looking forward to it

I had this idea for a fic last night not super sure where it’s going but let’s find out.

The sound of a phone ringing woke you up. You roll over rubbing your eyes and check the caller ID to see it was Gideon.

“Hel—“ you tried to answer

“Hey baby,” he says hurriedly “I need to do something…uh something kind of dangerous I just wanted to call you to tell you I love you. I uh gotta go.”

You immediately woke up after hearing that. “What?”

There was no reply on his end “Gideon?!” You pulled your phone away and looked to see he ended the call.

That was the last you heard from Gideon for the night. It was 9:15am now, and you’ve tried to call him back every 5 minutes since he woke you up and it’s been radio silent going straight to voicemail .

You and Gideon have been dating for a few months, that was the first time the “L” word has been dropped. Hell, you haven’t even met each other’s families so if anything did happen no one would know to contact you. How could he call you and drop that kind of ball on you and then not answer his fucking phone?!

“Fuck it” you mutter heading straight towards your closet and digging out a duffel bag.

Your roommate Alesea walks in your room to see you throwing random clothes in a bag

“Hey… Y/N…you okay? What are you doing?” She asked voice laced with sleep and concern.

You quickly glance to her, showing her the dark circles from lack of sleep, and look back to what you’re doing “Gideon called last night and…and I haven’t heard back from him I need to go to Charleston…I need to make sure he’s okay” you replied to her, voice straining.

“No you’re not” She replied sternly while stomping over to you.

“Yes I am!” You shouted zipping up your bag.

She grabs you by the shoulders and forces you face her “No, you clearly haven’t slept more than a couple of hours and Charleston is FIVE hours away from here. Just wait I’m sure he’ll call you soon.”

“Alesea I can’t just sit around and wait! What if something happened to him?!”

Alesea sighs “idiot what if something happens to you? You can’t drive 5 hours with no sleep.” She looks down at her phone to check the time “look it’s 9:30(am), why don’t you nap until noon and then you go to Charleston?”

You realize that she won’t drop this. “Fine.” You muttered.

“Okay” Alesea gave a small smile “get some sleep” and pulled you into a tight hug before she walked out of your room.

You waited until you heard the front door close a little later and then slipped out of your room with your bag and put your shoes on to sneak out of the apartment.

Once you got in your car you went into your messages on your phone and attempted to text Gideon but you accidentally slid to far and noticed that you and Gideon still have your location sharing on from the last time you saw him when he came down to Atlanta to visit.

“Ohmygodohmygodohmygod” you say feeling your heartbeat increase and set your GPS to his location.

It’s not a lot but it’s something might rewrite this to make it better but we shall see.

Amber Gemstone + being the funniest person on the show

This is like my first head cannon thing ever so yeah. There’s hardly any righteous gemstones content so I thought we could get the ball rolling

Gideon Gemstone: Meeting the Parents/family

Immediate Family:

-Gideon would probably (most definitely) give you an entire run down on his family. (With how crazy they are) He would warn you about everything you need to know when it comes to his family and meeting them as an outsider

-We all know the Gemstones have high standards and he just wants to make sure you feel welcomed by them.

-Off the bat I think Jesse would like you. I don’t think he would as judgmental towards his children’s SO’s as he was to BJ. He would probably try to get to know you and find something to bond over

-Amber on the other is hit or miss. I think Amber could either be super excited to meet her son’s SO OR she could hate you and then you have to worm your way into her liking you. I’m not really sure honestly. Amber isn’t as easy to read. But if she does like you I can imagine you getting really close to her and going shopping or helping her with her giving to others with all the church wives and she would brag that you’re her sons SO and how excited she is to have you there helping.

-I don’t think either of his brothers would care one way or the other about you. Like they’d just be like “hey y/n” (maybe) and then move on.

Extended Family:

-So this is DEFINITELY where you get the run down with aunt Judy and BJ and Kelvin and Keefe (yes, I’m counting Keefe as family) and Eli.

-it all really depends on when you meet these people.

-if you meet season 1 Judy you are absolutely fucked. She will ridicule you to hell and back- BUT if you meet season two Judy you’re probably *safer* she’ll probably still ridicule and make fun of you BUT I think it would be more out of a place of humor rather than meanness—she could also just not care about your existence. who knows Judy is a wild card.

-BJ would just be super nice to you-that’s just who he is.

-Kelvin I do not think would give 2 shits. He’d probably be like Gideon’s brothers and just be like “hey” but it would be more dismissive.

-Keefe would just be awkward. Might say say hi but probably won’t just give a simple, awkward wave.

-I think Eli has great potential to love you like one of his own grandkids. Like if you’re the kind of that person (like me who thinks about Eli eating dinner alone all the time and cries) and asks Gideon if you guys could out and treat Eli to dinner for once instead of him paying for everyone. Or asking if they family could get together more for family dinners. Or just going with Gideon to spend time with Eli and give him some company. There’s a lot of potential with this one.
