Stargazing was one of the many things you absolutely loved. Watching the little white stars that decorate the dark blue sky mesmerized you even when you do it on a daily basis. Ever since you were a child you would stargaze with anyone who would be willing to look up at the stars with you, even now you still do it. Though it wasn't like before.
You and your mother would often name the constellations you can spot with your eyes in the sky through your own window, you would never pass up the opportunity to look at the stars before bed. Now that she's busy taking care of your two other younger siblings she doesn't have time to. You and your mother's love for the stars didn't carry on to your siblings, they would often complain that their necks hurt from looking up for too long.
(It's true though, you couldn't deny it. But it's honestly worth it.)
As of right now, it would always be you and the sky. You never really invited anyone else to come with you, besides it was better alone anyways. Talking to yourself about what you did that day, what your problems were, and what your plans are for the next day to the stars was just something you were used to. It was somewhat... peaceful to you.
Having a friend to talk to you about anything and everything was something you never had but yearned for so long even if you choose not to admit it. As socializing was not really your forte, you were starting to loose hope and was just content with stay alone for the rest of your life.
That was until Albedo, the Chief Alchemist of the Knights of Favonius, proposed an idea to you when you visited Dragonspine one day.
"Y/N," Albedo says as he looks at you, locking eye contact with you for one second before turning his attention to something else and clears his throat, "you know how you would always describe to me in fine detail how beautiful the stars look at night?"
You simply hum in response, your eyes following his hands that were currently sketching a flower you found for him.
"Do you think I can," his hand stops sketching and looks back at you, "accompany you to watch the stars tomorrow night? I'd like to experience it myself to see if it's as magical as you make it seem."
You were honestly taken aback by this sudden request of his. Not only because no one has ever wanted to go stargazing with you before, other than your family, but because it was Albedo who wanted to go stargazing with you out of all people.
It hasn't been long since you both met but you felt that your relationship with Albedo has grown quite a bit through the months despite your lack of social skills. Well, you both weren't even looking for friends in the first place but you guys found comfort in each other's presence. Even with your different interests you still got along... somehow.
So what exactly was Albedo to you? Was he just a stranger that you would meet up with on an almost daily basis despite you almost freezing to death multiple times on your way to him? Was he just an acquaintance who would casually hold your hands if they were cold?
(His were cold too.)
All you know is that he's someone who gave you butterflies just by sitting there.
Just by looking at you.
Just by giving you his full attention.
Just by simply existing.
And you can't help but smile at him whenever he's around. He just makes you so giddy and happy inside everytime you see him.
And to Albedo, you were a "friend" he deeply cared about, though Sucrose would like to respectfully disagree with that because of how he would react whenever your around or the topic of you shows up, she's very observant.
Like that one time Albedo thought that Sucrose's footsteps were yours and yelled your name out to come over to look at his latest sketch. You were always there to see Albedo that he got used to your little visits.
(You got sick that time and forgot to tell Sucrose about it. And Sucrose definitely teased him about it.)
Like you, Albedo wasn't that social so you knew that he didn't have many friends. From what you heard from his stories, that you would often ask him to tell you since you found them quite interesting, he didn't hangout with a lot of people. Infact, Albedo wasn't quite fond of them since most of them was just Kaeya forcing him to come drinking with him. So the fact he asked you if he could stargaze with you probably meant that you were more than just a helper of his.
Probably.
"I presume that's a no then?" He blinks at you, gaining your attention back as you were just staring him for a few seconds.
"Oh! No no, not at all Albedo!" You shake your head side to side, "I was just... thinking about something else."
You fiddle with your sleeves, "but to answer your request, I'd love for you to stargaze with me." You smile at him and he does one right back with fond in his eyes.
"Wonderful, where do you want to meet up tomorrow then?"
"At the peak of Starsnatch Cliff, that's one of the best places to go stargazing!" You said with your own stars in your eyes.
Whenever the topic of stars would come up, you would constantly ramble on about how absolutely stunning the stars are. Once you start talking about it there's no stopping you. Even Albedo can't stop you, not like he wanted to anyways. He loved it when you would talk about something you were passionate about, there were always those little white stars in your eyes everytime it happens.
If he were to ever to say which place he'd love to stargaze at, it would be through your beautiful eyes.
You let your legs dangle off the cliff, the heel of your feet hitting the cliff as small rocks fall down to the ground. It was quite peaceful tonight, not like it was any different than the other many nights you stayed up here. You breath in and out the Monstadt air as a cool breeze flies passed you, practically waving away any problems you had prior to coming here. It was always so stress-free up here, very relaxing especially if you ever needed a place to calm down.
It was all silent on Starsnatch Cliff until you heard footsteps coming from behind you that suddenly come to a stop. You look over your shoulder to find Albedo crouched down by a group of Ceilia flowers.
"You finally came!" Your eyes lit up, delighted that Albedo showed up.
He didn't respond, he was busy looking at the Ceilia's to notice that you even spoke to him. You watch as Albedo carefully plucked out one of the many Ceilia's on the ground and walked toward you.
"Albedo?" You question him as you watch him sit down right beside you.
He simply looks at you with a smile that always made you feel safe and sound around him. Albedo then weaves the Ceilia flowers into your hair, tucking it in ever so gently.
"As I suspected, the flower looks wonderful on you."
Your cheeks flush a pink as he said those words to you. How could he say all that with such calmness and your over here getting all nervous around him.
He always complimented you which almost always ended with you in a blushing mess and him calling you endearing just because of your flushed face.
Did he not realize that the words he would say to you would leave you like this? Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. Who knows.
Your fingers begin to touch the Ceilia that he put on you, "... thank you." You said, shying away from Albedo's gaze.
Albedo then looks off to the distance, admiring the stars you would always tell him about. And you were right, this was a magical sight to see. The many stars that glow along this night sky was breathtaking. Not only that but you could see almost all of Monstadt from here. Everything about this scenery was beautiful. Especially the one right beside him.
You.
You were currently rambling about the constellations you found, pointing to each one that caught your eye. One after another, he never knew you could tell which one was which, they all looked the same to him. But nonetheless, Albedo would still listen to everything you said like it was the last time he would ever have the chance to listen to you talk.
Maybe that's why he took an interest to you, your passion drew him in. The way you would keep going on and on about every constellation and their meanings or when you describe the stars you saw the night before even when no one was listening. You didn't care if no one was there to listen, you just kept talking your heart out. But now, you have Albedo to listen to you for talk about anything and everything.
Like right now, he's watching you gesture your hands to each star you found stunning attentively with a smile on his lips. Albedo was absolutely in love with you even when he doesn't realize it.
"Oh! And this one is—" You yawned in the middle of your sentence, instantly covering your mouth.
"Looks like someone is tired." He states.
"It's been a long day, I was busy with a lot of stuff too." You said as you stretch your arms upwards.
As your arms go down back to your sides, you yawn once again. You really must be really exhausted.
"Want to lay down on my lap?" He pats his legs, gesturing you to put your head on his thighs.
Your eyes were struggling to stay open and you weren't in the right mindset to answer anything right now, you just started to space out.
Albedo could tell right away that you were about to pass out right then and there so he scooted back and gently pulled you over to him, resting your little head on his thighs.
They felt like comfortable pillows and you immediately melted in them. But before you could sleep, you took one glance at Albedo. You watched as his hair sways in one direction in such a elegant way it looked so unreal to you. His eyes that reminded you of an anemo crystalfly we're glowing in this dark environment. Was Albedo even human anymore with how ethereal he looked?
As your eyes felt heavy, you slowly close them. Then you drifted into a peaceful slumber with a small smile on your face.
Albedo admires your face for a moment, tracing your facial features with his eyes. From your eyelashes, to your nose and to your mouth. You were so effortlessly beautiful even in your sleep. How could he be this lucky to look at beauty like you? Albedo couldn't even believe it himself.
He moves the few strands of hair from your forehead and ever so gently pecks it. "Sweet dreams, my light."
